Katawa Shoujo is on /vg/ for years and it's also a much longer "game".
DDLC is there for like 2 months and you can complete this stuff in like 3-4 hours so there's not that much to discuss in the first place.

VNs are made so that people can form parasocial relationships to fictional characters, dedicated attachments to them. VN's don't have enough content contained in themselves to fuel their fanbase's desire to experience the characters, so they rely on the community to carry them the rest of the way and give them their fix.
