Every single aspect of all three paths of Fates, minus the maps in Conquest, even though they're still not particularly good other than the one chapter every parrot memes about, because you have to parrot that Conquest has good maps to pretend you've played it. Right now I'm splitting my forces and trying to feed exp to some of my units who are lagging behind. The most difficult part is trying to keep Saizo alive for the Speedwing while not letting any of my own teammates die, because of all these Poison Strike/Grisly Wound fuckers.

How are you splitting them? Also, this is a pretty bad chapter to be feeding units, I'd seriously suggest waiting for the next chapter.

If you can, try and trap Saizo in the southern cave.

He(mostly his exlusive sword) is way to overpowered even on a game that's suppose to help with new players.

Effie (general), Silas, Avatar (Noble), Anna (Adventurer), Shura, and Strategist Felicia head north, while Xander, Camilla, Mozu, Elise (strategist), Keaton, Charlotte, and Beruka head right.
The map does seem bad for feeding units, but Charlotte and Keaton are still only level 16 by this point, which is slightly concerning.

For someone meant to be representing the "good" kingdom he's just as scummy as Xander is for stringing Corrin along with his own lies.

Charlotte is pair up bait anyway, the bonuses she gives are more useful than her actual output IMO.

You're gonna want to split the group up in three squads. Send Avatar, Camilla, Anna, Felicia and Shura up north, and have Camilla be bait for the one ninja to swap with, that way he'll be killed by your uniits and Camilla can get to safety with her mobility. You're going to bait the other units at the top with Corrin/Camilla pair-up, and be sure to situate them away from the right wall to avoid the gear puppets. You'll also be dropping the pillars to avoid them coming out of the woodwork to attack you. You'll take care of the top left units with the other three.

Have another squad go to the south and after Saizo clears the trap have everyone go through, but then trigger another pillar so he's blocked back there and has to stay back. This squard with be comprised of Xander, Mozu, Elise and Beruka, and just pair up charlotte to Xander, she's a piar-up bot like the other user said. Ideally the pillars will block off the ninjas from the middle, with only ~3 of them getting through as you drop a pillar on them. This squad will clean them up, as well as assist in hurting the other behind the pillar in the coming turns.

The key is to have a good beginning and have Saizo be slowed down by the pillars as you trap him twice (once when all your south units go through, and another when he goes to exit where you orignally did, but you black that with a pillar again), from there you can go at it your own pace. How's that plan sound?

All yes, but it's hard to say where you want to start. Check FE7 (Blazing Sword, GBA), FE9 (Path of Radiance, GC) or any of the new ones if you are into them.
FE7 is the most popular and a good starting point if you don't mind the older look.
FE9 is great all around but is one of the easiest games of the series.
FE13 and any of FE14 are mostly ridiculed by the fanbase due to the terrible story and kinda dumbed down game mechanics but maybe this isn't too noticeable for a starter.

Considering Tharcia takes place between chapter 5 and 8 of Genealogy you should. However, if you don't care for story or lore you can jump right into Tharcia, just make to look up some reference point about the mechanics before hand.

I care about the lore and story, so I guess I'll be playing the Genealogy first then.

Because Echoes is such a shit game there is nothing to talk about, Fates has great gameplay and a hilarious trainwreck story, which has lots of stuff to discuss.

All the games have been released to death, but Fates (and Awakening) have a lot of replayability, and since Conquest is the most recent game that's actually difficult, it naturally still sees discussion.
I've seen Genealogy threads go to bump limit semi often, so it's not like Sup Forums is averse to discussing the other games.

Just because you use a sword doesn't mean you are based off the Myrm class. Eliwood uses a sword, is he a myrm? Lyn doesn't get crit bonus, and gets D bows upon promo.

No Eliwood is a regular lord like Math, or Roy. Fuck he even uses Ike as a different example in his post.

What makes Lyn a myrm-like is her aesthetic and her very strong preference for speed and skill over defense. It's also why I mostly just used her as cleanup crew until she promoted and became actually useful due to gaining the ability to use Bows.

Lyn is basically a Myrm that's called a Lord. Her promotion even has the same caps as Swordmasters, and can use a weapon that's otherwise locked to Myrms/Swordmasters.
