Wrong. The source was from the origins comic with Jackies great grandfather that followed the games art style of being dark, depressing and grimy not pastel colored garbage like the majority of Marvel and DC.

I think I tried reading the comics once, it was either from the beginning or some random arc. He was killing a bunch of angels wearing gold armor and it looked super edge so I just dropped it. Thank god the games exist.

Nah man it blew my mind at the time. The realistic shooting mechanics, the way you could see your body, the way guns moved around corners and how jackie held them up when you got close to a wall. I never played riddick before this so it was all new. The graphics, the acting, the voice acting, it was something I've never seen in a video game before. It was some insane quality and set the bar high back 2007.

Darkness is a 90s era EXXXTREME comic, and it is appealing to some, and not to others. It aged poorly, and became far worse than it really should have.
