Get an IT job in a massive office

>get an IT job in a massive office
>"oh great I can finally work with people who aren't giant fucking normies"
>everyone is either a brogrammer or specifically into shit like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter or Doctor Who
>the one guy that claims to like anime is solely into Miyazaki films
>they only play Destiny 2 together, get butthurt when I refuse to buy it and play with them (fuck raid schedules and MMO grinds in general)
Anyone else have to conceal their power level at work?

just play destiny you fucking sperg

I got fired from my IT for actually caring about people and teaching them how to fix their own issues

yeah it is the same across most companies. I work with people who tell me I will like a game and I should buy it, and when I ask them how they liked it they tell me "oh well I never played it but you would like it, it's great"

half-assed subjective opinions are my favorite kind of conversation. Which I guess is why I can never escape this place.

No shit retard. Never tell people how to do your job and just do your job.

there's like no gamer/animer in my town

I never hide my power level.

I work with 8 women and one guy who doesn't play vidya.

>normie
Fuck off, normalfag.

I know your pain OP. I hate monster hunter, but everybody at work plays it so I hacked my 3ds just to pick it up with them. It's actually kind of fun with people, but I can't stand playing it solo. Buck up, you might actually enjoy it?

As someone who likes Monster Hunter, it is indeed funner with other people. That's one of the main draws, other than fighting the monsters.

>refuse
Just say you'll buy it soon when you get some time and never do it.

>actually want to work with spergs
Why.

Should've just called them all faggots for liking all that nerd shit.

>Anyone else have to conceal their power level at work?
It work in IT in a video games company, so uhh... no

>mfw I've been surrounded by women my entire life at work, school, family and friends
>still a kissless virgin
I guess I've been exposed to the ugly side of women too much and that made me lose interest

>hurr, let's be heartless jews and fire the guy that gives a shit about people
really makes my neurons fire

>Work IT
>Everyone asks if I watch GoT, walking dead, or rick and morty
>Tell them i dont watch TV or im not interested
>Proceed to mock me and tell them im "missing out" daily
I didnt ask for this shit....

Don't have to feel self-conscious around spergs if they're just like you or even worse

>he joins the capitalist grind and becomes a wageslave for his jewish masters
>hurr durr why is this so souless and jewish?
What did user mean by this?

IT and Software Development actually requires some decent social skills.

Most of them aren't spergs like you guys. That meme died in the 90s.

It’s shitty but you should never make your job redundant. Also knowing how terrible people can be i’d Imagine they framed it as him not wanting to do his job.

Same with accounting, taxes.

>still a kissless virgin
>I guess I've been exposed to the ugly side of women too much and that made me lose interest

Or you're just an unlikable and effeminite soyboy who couldn't make a woman wet if you used a hosepipe.

>GoT, walking dead, or rick and morty
I'd rather kill myself.

>implying you're not a nonthreatening sperg they keep around for an emotional tampon.

>that's the joke.jpg
You daft cunt. Why are you even on this website.

just counter with "I don't have the 200 IQ required to understand Rick and Morty and start yelling " LOOK MORTY IM A PICKLE - PICKLE RIIICK"

>haha I was just kidding

This just in, normies are normies because they're most people. You found people in your hobby but you haven't found people in your niche.
Try being in boardgames nowadays and trying to find anyone up for something other than Catan or Pandemic or literally anything longer than an hour playtime.

>MFW I was stupid enough to show my department a trick I learned that literally saved me 10 hours of work a week

Not true, it depends on what you specialize in if you need strong social skills or not.

Most socially inept accountants go work in tax because you are not interacting with people very much on a day to day basis. There are exceptions like tax consulting but compliance is definitely good for the socially inept.

Whereas Audit you need strong interpersonal skills because you are constantly interacting with different clients every few weeks.

G/L stuff is a bit of a mix depending on the culture of the company your in. Not sure what the other areas are like.

>afraid of insulting their shit tastes
>calls other normies
No user, you are the normiest

>Work IT
>corporate office and coworkers are across the country
>I work entirely from home

It's comfy, but I wish I had some interaction besides "my thing is broke fix it please"

Erm, could you guys try that again, WITH OUT the antisemitism?

>What are job fields that allow me to interact with autistic people on a daily basis

>find only guy at work who's not a normie
>in comparison to him, you're the normie

Oh no, you're going to have to make friends among the people in your area whith whom you interact face to face despite them not sharing 100% of your opinions and preferences, just like people did for a million years before the internet enabled spending your entire life in an echo chamber, how can you possibly survive like this.

jew gotta be kidding me

There's literally nothing wrong with liking Miyazaki films user

>get IT job
>only thing boss talks about is the latest mobile bloatware he downloaded onto his phone

Sup kike

>find only guy at work who's not a normie
>reminds you too much of yourself
>realize how lame you truly are

You have no "power level" OP you are a casual, just an awkward socially maladjusted casual

Protip: the problem is with you, not them.

what trick?

I work in the games industry. Everyone is either a massive autist, an SJW or a fucking suck up. None of them actually play games.

Basically, it involves sucking on lots of penises.

>Other toy
ALL OF THE DAY BRO!

I work front desk at a popular golf resort, and except for me and the event planner, almost everyone else is a huge normie. one of the restaurant servers is into manga, but only the popular stuff and she plays second life.

Its a japanese company, so my bosses are japanese and get super upset if we read manga or watch anime, but the general manager doesnt speak english and literally just watches jap news and anime.

Anyway, me and the event planner both have IT experience and geek out all the time, but because we're both pretty popular here, nobody makes a fuss about it.

Normies are everywhere, that's why they are called "normies."

>tfw turning down multiple invites to attend team BBQs and cookouts because I have no idea how to act around my coworkers outside of work

>IT job

You fucked up, you're the informatics equivalent of what's a laborer to a construction engineer

There is, if it's the only anime you like
>I prefer sophisticated, mature Japanese childrens cartoons for sophisticated, mature gentlemen such as myself

There's a proprietary program we have at work that was explained poorly to a lot of people, I was the only one in my department who actually sat down and figured out how it worked and found out dramatically more efficient ways to run reports through it. All the potential of the program is hidden in a tiny little button that you have to click and then mess with stuff that doesn't look like it does anything, so I can sort of see why. At least it made me look really good when I joined my department and saved them productivity hours right off the bat. Unfortunately nothing I can use to help you.

Fuck that pic makes me so sad, I wish I didn't see it. Fuck you OP

>having a job
>not being an eternal NEET from a rich family
>not buying better shit in a typical year than a wage slave can afford in a lifetime
I can't wait until robots take all your jobs and kill you poorfags off so I can have more shit for myself

Thats kind of interesting. It seems the autists/robots are actually not in stereotypical nerd professions as much as people think.

I conjecture that most people on Sup Forums either don't work or work typical working class jobs. Retail, Front End Desk, Factory worker, waiter etc.

If they do have a white collar job, it is in IT, engineering, or finance/accounting that requires technical knowledge and a certain IQ.

>work IT and development
>small company in shithole town in shithole country so nobody interested in jackshit apart from their local shit
not sure whether to feel really happy or really sad

>tfw work a janitorial job
>work swing shifts, can sleep in
>bosses so laid back I can come in late and it doesn't matter as long as I get the job done
>shifts never last more than 5 hours tops
>quiet, place I work at is mostly closed
>can listen to music while I work
>don't have to talk to anyone
>just leave when done

This is genuinely one of the best fucking jobs I've had, after 7 years of retail this is true EZ modo

>get educated in IT (networking specialist)
>have diploma and several certs
>can't get an entry level job without 2+ years experience
>already nervous because I just know how to take tests, don't really know dick about computers or networking
>graduated in 2012
>never had a job, want to die everyday

Internship.

Two pieces of advice.

Apply to those jobs that require experience anyways. Sometimes its just HR cunts imposing absurd standards for what are actually entry level positions.

You absolutely need a job, I recommend getting a job in ANYTHING. Just get your feet wet with some work experience. Its going to haunt you in the future, don't let it.

OP you are correct not to purchase Destiny 2. Really Sup Forums? You're telling user to give the Activision Jews more shekels when they'll just release a Destiny 3 shortly after with more features downgraded to lootbox filler.

That’s what people who are laughably self-important usually say.

Fuck I'm a computer engineer and theres not a single day where I don't think about quitting my stressful job and just become a janitor. This world is fucked.

I'm a private guy and don't really like people knowing my hobbies, even if they're the same hobbies as me.

Can't explain why.

Unless you have responsibilities, it might not be a bad idea.

No offense but you're a moron. That's YOUR job.

Like, imagine that you have your job to do and you spill something on the floor and the janitor has to come clean it up. When he gets there, out of the goodness of his heart (smiley face, single tear) he teaches you how to use a mop so you can clean up your messes yourself.

What the fuck is he being paid for if the janitor is telling you how to clean up messes?

>start working as a transport manager in a small haulage company
>people in my office are young and IT savvy
>one of them brags about his computer specs
>tell him my own specs
>So you play vidya too, user?
>Yeah I play a lot of games
>Do you play Assassin's Creed?
>No but-
>Do you play Call of Duty then?
>N-no.
>conversation stops

>people say they "work in IT"
>they actually just mean they're tech support monkeys

go play destiny 2 with them
it's fun with friends I swear

i hate IT jobs,
I now am just living off my father's millions, but I plan to buy my own septic tank truck, and work 5 hours a day next year

>tfw /fit/ respiratory tech in a hospital.
>job consists of collecting and delivering oxygen tanks to nursing units, and doing a couple hookup and escort jobs at the ICU to a CT/MRI/Interventional radiology.
>hit on nurses and CCAs all day in multiple nursing units.
>half of the unit nurses are divorced milfs between 25-35 since they don't have seniority to get clinic jobs.
>fuck random slutty nurses all the time.
>never mention video once.
>life is incredible.

give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and you’ve just destroyed your market

>tfw almost done with my masters in networking and sys admin and have multiple offers

Don’t fall for the “networking only needs certs hurrr durrrr”, get more education. They expect people like us to be programmers as well, automation is everything now. DevOps and such. They also love to see you went to college obviously.

>letting other people know how to do your job
You fucking idiot IT is the one department most corporations will go to for downsizing. If everyone knows how to do your job you're literally worthless and will be first on the chopping block

Just lie about your experience like everyone else dude. Unless you're a total fuck up they probably won't find out

>database management and claims for a flooring company
>easy to make friends, sometimes show my power level when I have my Hot Toys delivered to work or take tuesdays off for a new game release
>no one really cares, everyone likes me because I help a lot.
>easily made friends with most of the whole company

born /fit/ or worked /fit/?

Tell me about it. I got fired from my janitor job for teaching people how to clean up their own mess.

What did you expect? The world is a Normie's play ground and it's slowly turning into a bland mushy vanilla hell of rotting torment. Just lock yourself up in your house and watch the world burn like the rest of us.

They’re just messing with you, grow a pair and banter back.

>work in hospital as a security gaurd
>have interactions with the police sometimes for certain patients
>one cop shoots the with me, we talk about video games of all kinds, tries to convince me that bayonneta is better than metal gear rising, played a shaman in WoW, gave me ideas for town names and lore for a D&D game im DMing, tells me stories of his campaign and characters
>was really knowledgable on law and healthcare stuff, knew alot about all the hobbies i had, even wh40k

It was then i realized what a true chad was

>Anyone else have to conceal their power level at work?

You mean conceal your niche interests in a mainstream hobby? No, because I just tell people what I like and I don't shit on them for liking things that I see as being more mainstream than my tastes. Hell if they want me to play Destiny 2 so bad buy me a copy and I'll play with ya for a few months at best when I have the time.

I just tell everyone that TV is too damn expensive so I don't have it, which is true. I ain't paying 100 fucking dollars a month just to be bombarded with ads and shitty unfunny kike "comedies" and dramas.

If I care enough about watching something I'll pirate it.

> (networking specialist)
you should find work in human resources

i understand bro, only grind I can really get into is Runescape, and thats because I play alone

I used to speak welsh really loudly whenever they asked me, since no one here can speak welsh apart from up north they awkwardly shuffle away.
t. filthy ditch digger that now supervises for welsh water

But user... Bayonetta is better than MGR

You can like weird shit and NOT be an awkward fuck about it, you know.

It IS possible.

I was always an athlete and had development, but I never really got super /fit/ until my mid 20s after putting on college weight.

I intentionally don't teach a bunch of stuff to my colleague and vice versa because I'm pretty sure if they really wanted to they could sack one of us to downsize.

How do I find and get a job like this? Do I need qualifications?

I kept quiet and chime in when I am able to. It's awkward as fuck, but for me it's nice to meet with people even when I don't talk much.

Master's in waste management.

I think you mean counter-semitism

The issue here is that you're IT for one company. Be a contractor for multiple companies.

>thought I was the quiet one
>there's that worker who works by themselves and always takes breaks/lunches early before everyone else
What a fucking loser

There was a guy on stackoverflow who automated his six figure telecommuting position and even would go back in to insert small errors periodically so nobody would catch on to him not actually doing it.

Some people legitimately thought he was cheating his boss even though the work he was paid for was performed and the inserted errors were insubstantial and clerical.
