You only had to go into the menus all the time if you sucked at the game and needed to heal
Stealth system was fine, only issue it had was a lot of the camos weren't useful but PW and V also have this problem

the overhead view with the panning is superior to the behind the back view most of the time in mgs3 because of how often MGS3 blocks your view off with cliffs. the overhead view can see the other side while the behind the back doesn't, it also ruins the camera for several boss fights

it's really only useful for the fury and whenever you're inside a building

They don't have the same controls, 3 gave nuanced changes and tweaks that make it a lot better to play
