Yeah, because progression systems are a game mechanic and in a game that's as casual as Battlefront, stats make a much bigger difference than skill

most people play FPS sparingly, not constantly every day. They have massive peaks at launch when they are new but then people calm down and get "casual" about them.
Who logs onto BF for 8 hours straight anymore? no one, its just a game you can play a round or two then get off. It will never hit big peak numbers, but people are playing it, at least on console.

The statistics will never match up to something like an MMO or RPG which is no-lifers playing a game like a religion.

Currency is used to by heroes and villains. People have been locked out of matches due to the default unlocked characters being used. They do not allow mirror matches.

I disliked how the single player story ends on a cliffhanger so they can squeeze you for DLC chapters later.

If they ended it on the second to last chapter the ending would have been satisfying. When they did the "decades later" I was excited thinking we'd get a whole additional complete story arc. But no, cliffhanger ending.
