This gen there's no real appeal to any one console over the other. Find the one with the exclusives you like the most and get it, then keep it for the multiplats.

It has all the games any sane person would want to play.
It is easy to use.
It recieves updates all the time that ensures that everything works from a platform perspective.
You don't need 6 different third party accounts to origin, steam, uplay, battle.net, etc.
People who have friends have friends who has it.

PC gaming is full of children.

Dude many people bought a ps4 because of games like Horizon, Tlou, the next God of War, Uncharted, Crash and some others. Also, it's a lot cheaper than a good pc, so you can't deny it has some appeal to many people.

Nioh (unsurprisingly, since it's a huge timesink),
Assassin's Creed Unity (the story is hilariously poorly executed but the recreation of France is beautiful and I personally enjoy the changes to the combat and the fact that it has actual stealth in comparison to the others. The game is seriously bloated, though. 300 chests with only about 15-20 having anything remarkable),
Hitman, Bloodborne (they go a bit without saying, imo),
And FFXV (It's honestly mediocre, but it has its moments)

Neither do consumers considering how bad it's selling right now. The Switch is not only outselling it now but is selling faster than the ps4 did in it's first 6 months and keep in mind the ps4 was released in the holiday season.

This. I used to be PC-only during highschool and university but now I prefer the comfyness of consoles.

PS4, Switch, and PC is the way to go. I keep trying to find an excuse to get an Xbox, but I can't for the life of me think of one. The only game that looked of interest that's still an exclusive is Sunset Overdrive, but I managed to play it at a friend's and it really isn't anything special.

I'm pretty open in that sense, I can get into pretty much everything as long as it isn't an FPS like COD, which I just can't get into for some reason. I'm not a big fan of open world either, but if it's well done, as in meaningful and with stuff to do instead of big and empty, it's ok.

I do tend to gravitate towards stealth and action, though.

remember that SEGA is considering porting the Persona Series and Yakuza to the PC, Crash remake is not exclusive, Wipeout is no longer remembered and in content wise Fast RMX is better, also Uncharted 4 is an unnecesary sequel.

It makes more sense when you have a family and friends. Consoles are set up in the living room and thus much more open to the rest of the house. Can interact with others continuously through out the afternoon, since you're not locked away in your office.

It occasionally has better multiplats than the ones available on PC. It also can have a few exclusives since nips sour on PC gaming for the most part. Paying for MP is still obscene as ever.
