I kind of liked TEW 1 when it first came out I played it with a freind and spent most of the game kind of laughing at the game since it wasn't scary at all and was just really dumb.
It was fun though but it had horrible pacing and the story is bad my worst criticism was the crap checkpoints that were annoying as fuck.
I much preferred TEW2 as it has far better level design and atmosphere.
I also liked RE7 more as RE7 could be legit scary at times and had a great atmosphere too.
Who are you quoting? Literally every thread I see people say that it was flawed as hell.
currently at chapter 12 on my first playthrough of the game. So far it's been great, chapter 9 in particular. RE7 was a boring immersive sim in comparison to TEW.
>having a retarded friend
That means you're retarded by association
Pretty fun but RE4 is still king.
>Sup Forums is one person
Sure the second game is so bad it makes the first one better by comparison, but the first game is still a 6/10 poor mans Resident Evil 4.
>Le "(You) only like it beacuse you're a contrarian and the sequel is better XDDD" meme
Fuck off, even before TEW2 came out I thought of first TEW as a better RE4 and considered it very underrated game.
Then TEW2 came out and I had very high hopes only for it turn out to be a fucking garbage.
The difficulty especially, TEW 1 had a great way of handling with enemies:
>Enemy rushing at you?
>You can try to headshot it and kill it
>You can try to shoot it in the leg to trip him over
>You can shoot his hand to make him drop his weapon
It may not be incredibly many options but it was still enough and made for solid gameplay, now compare it to TEW2:
>Enemy rushes at you
>Literally your only option is to shoot it and hope it dies before it reaches you, you can't trip them anymore, you can't disarm them, you have literally no way of stoping them unless you get a lucky crit (literally the only thing that stuns enemies)
Also, TEW1 had much better enemy variety, enemies changed their looks depending on where you were, matches mechanic, burn mechanic etc.
It all made the gameplay great and enjoyable, all of this was removed in the second game.
Plus all designs in the game were much fucking worse and only good ones (Firethrower guy and Obscura) were leftovers from TEW1, even writing went to shit by making the story generic "save ur daughter" and only interesting parts of it were things already intoduced in the first game.
Overall if it wasn't for TEW1 I would probably drop TEW2 early in the game, after I finished TEW2 for the first time I decided to speedrun TEW1 and I had much more fun.
Two is better, but I don't love Evil Within 1, it's a 6/10 with potential to score better if you love the setting like this guy here
My reason for not loving it, is the limited ammunition, and the wave after wave after wave of instantly spawning check point enemies that you encounter. You can't have both aspects, these elements don't mix well and collide with each other. It's as redundant as having Stealth Action. If it's action, then it isn't stealth, if it's stealth, then it isn't action. Now we know why other devs don't mix limited ammunition and hard to kill, wave after wave of instantly spawning check point enemies.
Evil Within2 is a 8/10 and I'm disappointed it didn't sell better. Literally a better game than RE 7.
>Even writing went to shit by making the story generic "save ur daughter"
The first game had a mess of a story dude.
>and only interesting parts of it were things already intoduced in the first game.
Sebastian's backstory was criminally underutilized, almost blatantly added in at the last minute. And just because they were expanded upon in this game doesn't make them any less interesting or valuable.
Why the fuck are you idiots comparing this game to RE7? Two entirely different games and play styles
this is why
>The first game had a mess of a story dude.
How so? I'm asking seriously, as far as I remember everything made perfect sense once you read all in-game collectibles and played DLCs.
My problem with the story was that Seb had a tragic history in the first game even if it wasn't stated much and it feels kinda shitty to suddenly make it into "Your daughter and wife are actually alive! Now quick, save them!". While explanation why your daughter is there and alive is actually pretty decent, Mira getting trust of Mobius feels kinda retarded but I guess it's still fine, the problem is that all those little bad things, both gameplay and story wise just add up to a huge pile of shit.
Also it should actually continue the story in some way, why wasn't Ruvik there? I think they could easily replace the role of Mira with Ruvik inserting his conciousness remotely to new STEM (He did made that technology so it would be possible) and then helping Seb find his daughter beacuse Ruvik would be mostly powerless in the new STEM since he isn't the host anymore, Seb would get his daughter back and Ruvik would destroy STEM the same way Mira did once the host is gone thanks to Seb, a win/win situation for both of them.
I bet OP is that numale cuck director of the sequel who got fired by Bethesda after TEW2 flopped like absolute garbage it is.
TEW1 is still average but had potential. TEW2 is just far shittier than it was, so it makes the first game look better by comparison.
I got bored at that butcher in the begining, but i mean to return to it someday.
Every non-pleb liked the first game. You are probably just a sheep OP.
Nobody likes that game apart from a couple of autists that keep spamming threads about it.
TEW2 has first person camera too.
When does the game start getting good? I'm currently at the first level where the zombie enemies are introduced.
Eh, I always kinda liked it. Puzzles were great. 'Open world' and lack of puzzles were real let down for me in the second game.
