>Game has achievements.
>"Do this monotonous bullshit 1000 times more than you'll ever need to during several NG+ runs."
Xillia and Xillia 2's trophies were made by idiots.
>You can only get this achievement by playing with a dev or someone who has gotten this achievement.
>start game for the first time
>*achievement unlocked: started game*
alternatively
>*achievement unlocked: watched the credits until the end*
>This achievement is only unlocked during a timed-event that happened back in 2005
>The hardest achievement to get is getting 100% on your first run
>the timed achievements unlock anyway years later in 2015 because people complained about it
>not even playing during christmas yet its all unlocking
Unforgivable.
What was that game where you had to draw a picture and send it to the dev or something in order to get the achievement?
22% don't give enough of a fuck to sync up their achievements/don't care about being online.
>game has achievements for each difficulty settings
>playing on the the highest difficulty doesn't unlock them all

But then they wouldn't be factored into the statistics at all.

>He hands out "achievements" prewritten on flash cards
>Game has achievements for progressing through story
>Only 4.7% have achievement for completing half of the game
>Only 3.3% have achievement for reaching the ending
Oh, trust me. The OCD gamer is absolutely fucked. No one's getting 100% achievements for Pillars of Eternity unless they cheat them in. The amount of autism required to complete pic related is off the charts.
>Game has achievements for 4 players offline co-op
>Only have 1 friend
>it's myself
You have to be online to download patches, which means it'll sync up that first time with all the blank achievements.

>failure is easy and wipes all progress
>achievement fails to register
So I spent more than half an hour at peak performance, just to get fucked out of my achievement? Fuck you.
>Achievement requires you to jump off a ramp at exactly midnight
Some games are truly so terrible that simply playing them to completion is truly an achievement.
Some developers simply choose to acknowledge this.

>Fighting game achievement for using your favorite character X amount of times

Has there ever been any evidence for this being true, ever?
Halo 4
Halo 4
Halo 4, which is what he was referencing.
I'm pretty sure Sucker Punch said they made Infamous Second Son follow the good ending of Infamous 2 because that's the ending more people did.
Some websites can track achievement/trophy progress and leaderboards, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that the developers/publishers have access to these stats and possibly more.
>Beat the game in Normal mode and get the achievement for that
>Unlock a Very Hard mode
>Beat the game on Very Hard and get that one too
>The achievement for Hard mode is still locked

violated heroine
>game requires you to get 100% achievement to see special ending
>you have to follow a guide just to do so because its so retarded and you can easily miss something that is worth a fraction of a single percent
You can download patches without syncing though. Or at least you can on PS3, not sure about other systems.
>achievement is locked behind a paywall
>achievement is locked behind a timed paywall
That's how I use it.
Every game people meme about and call GOTY? Thirty percent completion rate.
