It's easier
appeasing their vapid gamer girl gf.
not really
Everybody speaks english
Most interesting characters can make the game more enjoyable.
...
>HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE
>Ching chong nip nong
Fine then Leauge games are way shorter
You've obviously never played with frogs
What about Dota Turbo?
Sunk cost
It has my boyfriend, Kled the cantankerous cavalier!
Yes really. It's like if you took Dota and stripped away 90% of the features and mechanics.
...
>LoL
>easier to learn
Dota has demo mode, in-game guides, tutorials, bot matches with AI, custom games which rely on modified Dota, a learn tab for items so you can look at them, all the in-game numbers and shit, a watch tab where you can look at player perspective and more shit.
Meanwhile in LoL you can't even look at another players character and read their skills because of the client. RMYT
Guarantee most LoL player info comes from off-site on their wiki or some shit.
Its not a dead game that only third worlders with sub 60 IQ's enjoy.
It also doesnt have P2W Map Reskins that force you to pay for their tournaments and then pay even more to unlock.
>top of steam charts
>dead game
also what map is p2w, monkey king?
and what tournament forces people to pay?
that immortal gardens map is p2lose you kidding you lose like 40 fps when using it
>top of steam charts
I know you DotA players are retarded and all, but DotA is not spelt PUBG.
Half a million monthly vs 10 million monthly lmao, your game is fucking dead because only the braindamaged enjoy it.
this but unironically
LoL doesn't need guides because it's so much more straight-forward. Like I said, it has a tiny fraction of the mechanics and features that Dota has.
The people who'd actually benefit from having the juke paths easier to see probably won't utilize the juke paths anyways.
Dota is still on the steamcharts and PUBG relies on Chinese players to farm drops, Chinese Dota players aren't listed on Steam charts because they use their own servers.
Leaguebabies just prefer the game with more fapbait. Then again their own devs think they're too stupid to understand how rupture works so they need to stick to their 5 archetypes game because of burden of knowledge.
Only thing I'd ask that they take back their crybaby refugees that scream and cry for region lock and role select at queue start.
It came first and has the advantage of having a vastly established community over the DOTA 2 community. Therefore, it is easy to get into League because your friends likely play it because it was the first game on the market of its type (no, DOTA 1 doesn't count because it's not a commercial product with 2009 level production value).
In addition, DOTA 2 simply has more mechanics to be aware of. The game is less homogenous game to game compared to League of Legends. This leads to a higher skill floor for DOTA 2.
To be fair, you need a high IQ...
was mostly the voice lines now for me, several of the more psychotic characters kept me interested
They have their own servers now, I can queue for US east and US west and still get 3 languages
>your game is fucking dead
I play LoL but you must be really retarded if you think Dota 2 is "dead".
for hi
Okay so Dota has better tools to improve as a player, but the game is so much more diverse, LoL games follow a much stricter plan every game, so you almost never have to get out of your comfort zone
Wait, your argument is that the only reason LoL is harder is because the Devs made their client shitter, and have less features which have nothing to do with the actual game?
My argument is Dota is easier to learn because it provides so much resources compared to LoL, whose client impedes learning by lacking a basic function of looking at other units.
>stopped playing dota with friends because everyone got mad at each other
>start playing hots
>a couple of friends switch with me
>only mess around in casual
>eventually they want to play ranked
>they start taking it more seriously
>everyone starts getting upset again
I just want to have fun.
>thinking DotA takes 'skill'
Jesus
Plebs
And the reason would likely be:
Friends play it
Easier to get in to
More advertised
good b8
I can tell you one simple answer why DOTA is superior. *High pitched whine*
dota is slow as fuck
Depends on what type of game is being played honestly. If you have an Alch or AM that goes uncontested for farm, it's a pretty quick game
friends
not having to deal with russians on a regular basis
far more consistent game mechanic interactions
greater emphasis on counterplay
its still bad
You can run league on a 10 year old toaster and it will look decent.
faster queue on NA
no peruvians or russians or anyone but people fromNA
EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEeeeeEEEEEEEeeeeee
You don't have to act like a smug cunt about your game whenever any moba game is brought up.
i've just started playing dota2 after years being blindly sticket with LoL.
i can say that dota2 is far away better, funnier and rich of features (and harder ofc), meanwhile LoL is just bland and dying.
even Hots is better than LoL, i've played that too, since if you want competitiveness --> dota,
if you want casual fun ---> hots
LoL is in the limbo.
t. Leaguebaby
As a League Support Main I am looking to get into DOTA 2. Any links of a good place to start.
Maybe some basic fundamental understanding of the game?
just play the game from, as i did.
you can only play a bunch of characters early btw
Cool. I can’t wait to do some research on what characters interest me
maybe you should make some better friends
ignore anime
if your questions are genuine they'll usually be answered
LoL has fps drops on a toaster, while dota runs stable and smoothly
>characters control consistently and smoothly(no retarded attack animations, no turn rates
>no fucking latin americans on NA server anymore
>significantly better visual clarity and in game presentation
>current meta is balls to the wall slaughterfest of snowball and destruction vs dota 2 molasses
doesn't lol have attack animations, also lack of melee carries as a result of lack of turn rates
I'll give you SA on NA servers
>visual clarity
pretty sure that's impossible given how you guys do skins
kek
>significantly better visual clarity and in game presentation
Hahahaha holy shit no. If there is one downside to League it is 100% the horrific mess of particle effects that any team fight is. No character is designed with any regards to either a unique colour palette OR silhouette. Every single character has three different abilities they need to faceroll in every teamfight each with their own flashy particle effect because everything needs to in that game. It's an absolute fucking mess when it comes to visual clarity.
I can't think of a situation in DOTA where you could mistake two heroes together, even with cosmetics.
As someone who’s never played DOTA and plays League I will say yeah, can’t tell what’s going on amongst every person in fights
well that red skywrath set is one but that's a rarity in itself
League of Legends meta doesn't feature melee carries because of the importance of ranged siege. Towers are much more dangerous in LoL than in DotA, you need to be able to whittle them down without committing to a fight. That's why melee carries don't replace ranged carries in a comp. There are a few true melee carries that do see competitive play though(Fiora, Yasuo, Xin Zhao and Gangplank). Keep in mind the average melee champion in League is very mobile to break through ranged carry kiting. Until the most recent balance shakeup being a ranged carry was a really shitty experience because you'd just get piled on unless your team peeled for you effectively.
Melee carries aren't a good thing in and of themselves. Well designed, interesting champions/heroes are a good thing.
LoL does have attack animations, but they were cleaned up several years ago. There are no champions with janky and slow animations aside from Nautilus(there's reasons for it).
Even then, he has his wings and is spamming spells constantly, all of which is pretty visually distinct from others.
At this point both games are just vessels for their company to make as much money as possible. If you think a good game experience is the the major objective for these companies you are sadly mistaken.
You guys arguing here is like two pigs debating the quality of trash they get fed. Meanwhile the transporter to the butchery is driving up to the stables.
Am I crazy for only really liking Assfaggots when I'm watching dota 2 pro tournaments
Nah, DOTA tournaments are fun.
The importance of last hit in dota is the reason for the attack animation be like it is, each character has its attack time tied to it, you just need to git gud.
lol must be awful
there are no slow animations in dota besides zeus because he's designed to last hit with arc lightning, everything else is about attack speed
also pretty sure needing to have all your 'melee carries' in LoL - where they would hardly be considered melee carries in Dota the same way Earthshaker and Kunkka aren't considered conventional melee carries - have a gap closer is inherently had design and goes against being interesting
I say they're hardly real carries because they don't really right click but rely more on their abilities which simply scale off AD when they'd accomplish the same thing if they scaled of AP. Whereas in Dota scaling damage or primary stat besides INT - which doesn't scale spell amp efficiently anyways - would hardly affect spell damage unless the ability was designed to like Skywrath or Morphling.
Why does Dota work so well as a spectator sport?
Dota is too slow.
turn rates/+40min average games/overall it's more punishing and you have to play like a little baby and wait for your hard carry to farm and hope he has a bkb because enigma and magnus have a 4sec CC with insane size.
A number of things. You got a large amount of casters to choose from to have one that you enjoy yourself, you got the fact that some teams thrive on being non-meta as possible and win, you got the "big game" abilities that just makes everyone smile and to top it all off you got pro players of all different personalities and playstyles.
Amazing casters, UI layout, graphs, camera controls and design.
>characters control smoothly(no retarded attack animations, no turn rates
But that's not smooth. That's awkward and janky.
Characters actually having animations for things that occur is smooth.
>some teams thrive on being non-meta as possible and win
This is one of the biggest ones. Every match you're genuinely not sure how it'll go.
>play league
>5+ minute load times
>even longer sometimes
>play dota
>load into game like 20 seconds after everyone accepts
Why is leagues client so fucking trash. How does one person with a wooden pc/bad connection take 10 minutes to load in. This isn't even talking about other missing features like voice chat or the ability to abandon 4v5s. You can't even play the disconnected character. You can't even fucking pause if they dc.
40 min averages lmao. You'd have those in league but league babies just give up at 15/20 instead of actually trying to come back.
>bkb
>for enigma and magnus
are you baiting mate or just retarded?
Because the type of people who play dota think lag is a good feature with turn rates and shit like this.

After posting this video there was enough conversation about the issue on both reddit (3x threads that I can find with over 1k upvotes) and enough twitter conversation that Valve implemented a fix which has cut the total unit response time (input delay/whatever you want to call it) in half. GOOD JOB VALVE!!!
they fixed it
now what's your excuse
Both games are shit and I pity anyone greatly that has to argue between the two flavors of shit
Oh that's great news, I didn't look at the comments, might give it a shot again.
Theres that one cosmetic that makes naix look like sand king
