With another fresh setting instead of a sequel

They can't

They already have, with a superior title called Dark Souls 3. Superior in every single way.

What the fuck are they even working on?

>Armored Core
>A game that "will probably comply with the expectations from the fans in straightforward manner."
>VR, "weird" title

Cockpit perspective VR armored core.

Bloodborne>=Dark Souls III>Scholar>DaS>DeS

Is Armored core similar to the Souls games? I've never played anything in the series.

Consider swift suicide

...

No, it sucks. From Soft's most boring work by far.

No Bloody Crow racer no buy

>Like in other kart racers with silent characters he is given dialogue

By making a good game

This. Every game with the souls type gameplay that they make, that features a new setting somehow always manages to stand above the rest. Demon's Soul, Dark Soul, and Bloodborne all feel way more interesting in their worlds. Even the people who like Dark Souls 2 and 3 like it for their gameplay, because it feels like their worlds aren't their own fleshed out things.
We don't know if the weird title is VR, do we? We just know the VR thing is going to be on every system, so I think it may be just like Armored Core, but with some extra VR stuff. We also know the thing that fans will expect is another Dark-themed ARPG.
From what I know, one of the titles that was supposed to come out on all systems, was supposed to come out this year, meaning they held it back to work on it more, which interests me.

BB > DaS > DeS > DS3 > DS2

>Even the people who like Dark Souls 2 and 3 like it for their gameplay, because it feels like their worlds aren't their own fleshed out things.
I was playing DSII today and I realized I like its world more than I remembered. And I'm still not done with DSIII and enjoy its world immensely.
>We don't know if the weird title is VR, do we?
Reading the IGN article, that's true. The weird one isn't explicitly linked to VR.

It plays closer to Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash more than Dark Souls. It's fast mechs sliding around shooting each other with lock on mechs that use machine guns, swords, and slow moving projectile weapons with an extreme amount of mech customization. It's pretty good, way different but I think its gameplay is better, but it's primarily a gameplay focused game series instead of a world focused game series like souls stuff.

They're going to follow it up with a "spiritual successor" to Soulsborne that plays 99 percent just like Soulsborne, because it's pretty fucking clear by now that they can't make any good games aside from Soulsborne.

Armored Core was fucking terrible. King's Field is ass. Miyazaki is a one-trick pony.

>everyone wants BB2
>it gets announced, then released
>It's the equivalent of DS2
Watch out for that monkey's paw

People don't want Bloodborne 2. The story is complete. Can't do much more with it.

DS2 is better than DS1 in literally every conceivable way though.

We're talking about Sony here, not Bamco. The DaS sequels being disappointing was Bamco's fault for trying to milk the cash cow as fast as possible. DaS itself was already just a knock off of DeS anyway, because they couldnt expand on DeS without Sony's go-ahead.

>implying Souls isnt primarily focused on gameplay
the fuck you talkin bout

Aztec Souls bro. Neogaf told me it was coming

swap ds3 and bloodborne and this is perfect

See

Ninja Blade II. PSVR exclusive.
Follow your heart, you know it's true.

With a slow but very systematic/chirugical approach to the combat. Fast looks imposant but the chaotic nature of it doesnt add anything to a game as seen in ds3.

By giving Miyzaki a fucking break.

The guy has been doing souls for so long he probably wakes up in cold sweat because of cancerous giant dad memes and mountain dew subconsciously infesting his brain.

By porting it to PC at 60fps.

I'm so annoyed it still runs terribly on a Pro.

Funny isnt it, that people think that?
This is why dark souls 2 is the black sheep of the series despite actually being the best of the Souls game

>no u
Never reply to my posts again, you embarassing virgin

We’ll find out in the January Nintendo Direct

It's going to be kingsfield you fucks.

I hope they make another JRPG like enchanted arms but a bit better this time around.

stop replying to me

This. A new IP would be good

>DaS3 could've been a fresh setting.
>Nah let's just shit out half-assed DeS and DaS1 rehashes. We'll bank on the zealos fans of the first game's five year old nostalgia.

They already made dark souls 3 after bloodborne

Dark Souls is Kingsfield already.

They tried something different with 2 and people seemed to hate it, so of course they'd do something safe and boring instead

>vr game
>kingsfield is a 1st person game
>suddenly the secret boss in the last souls dlc gives you a spell that hint's to kingsfield

Definetly bb kart coming next

>suddenly the secret boss in the last souls dlc gives you a spell that hint's to kingsfield
I'm gonna start the DLC next week. What spell is it.are miracle finally viable?

It's a sourcery that's literally the moonlight blade

Miracle builds are the best builds now imo

Dunno user I pirated it, leveled myself up to 150, pre sunlightblade nerf and crushed everything in my way

*Correction
Faith Builds are the best builds now, especially for PvE
Some miracles are also very strong though you will be relying on the limited but good options Faith users can have.
Most of the game will be painful though, Faith builds dont get good until endgame. That's when you replay the game on NG+ and actually have fun

Hopefully with the first good game since the first half of ds1. everything after that has been trash.

Can confirm, rekt most bosses in NG+ using Sunlight Spear and Lightning Stake 60 faith required.

same old great gameplay but in a scifi setting

like demon's souls meets event horizon

but like an half step less horror.

Dark souls 3's first half is fucking terrible. Everything up till the tombs is really boring and just plain unfun to both explore and replay. I mean for fucks sake, you finally think you get out of that shitty empty fucking swamp area and when you turn your fucking camera the game fucking laughs in your face when you realize there's another swamp area.
Bloodborne does not suffer from this problem and has a lot more replayability in my opinion. Especially with the old hunters dlc.

>Bloodborne does not suffer from this problem and has a lot more replayability in my opinion. Especially with the old hunters dlc.
I disagree, Bloodborne is easily the least replayable of the series. It's almost no build variety and it is extremely linear compared to others. The only reason I bother replaying it at this point is because I enjoy spelunking in the Chalice Dungeons.

>It's almost no build variety and it is extremely linear compared to others
This is a common misconception. Bloodborne has the most build variety of all souls games. Every weapon in bloodborne is completely unique (with the exception of the longsword mode of both the kirkhammer & ludwig's and the small mode of the saw cleaver & saw spear). Meanwhile in dark souls you only have the illusion of having a shit ton of weapons since they all have almost the exact same moveset. Replaying the game with katana 1 or katana 2 is not going to feel any different. The only thing where bloodborne would have less build variety is in the magic department, which is completely fine since bloodborne isn't meant for that kind of thing. All arcane items in bloodborne are meant to be used in a supporting offensive manner, and not as a replacement for your actual weapons. I want to replay bloodborne with all weapons at the same time cause they're all so damn fun to use. I sadly can't say the same for dark souls 3, because there are maybe 5 really unique weapons total that make replaying the game not a chore.

Das3 does have more variety. The difference is they have too much variety so a bunch of gear is just completely useless and they don't give a shit about balancing it. The weapons in BB are polished as fuck and can mostly be adapated well to different builds. Arcane is the FROM games goatest class of all time. parasite and elemental weapons is so much fun.

>DaS 2 is easily the worst souls game
>dude this new patch changes enemy locations
>GOTY

bloodborne 2 but scifi lovecraft instead of victorian.

Das3 weapons are trickled throughout the game, meaning that you only have access to a very few weapons for the first half of the game.
In Bloodborne, at least you can take a trip to DLCland and pick up a variety of weaponry after just one boss.

This is the biggest bullshit i´ve read in Sup Forums. Congrats friend.

Sci Fi sounds would be retarded. I don't know why people want this. Souls only works with a fantasy setting.

Honestly I didn't like the eldritch part of bloodborne, I think if they stuck with just Victorian beast murder it would have been much better.

>want to get the Black Knight Sword because I'm a filthy nostalgiafag
>can only get it halfway through the game

Nice arguments, you sure convinced me there!

It’s less replayable because getting through the beginning is a linear slog and most of the bosses are big flailing arms around monsters and it all kind of blends together

sadly, this is what most fans wanted

Armored Core Souls

ButSounds exactly like 2

Better than animations = build variety.
You are so deluded that cannot even understand what a build variety is, and how i can make 5-6 different builds in DaS with the same weapon and armour independently of it´s animations.
FFS you are so full of shit that cannot even admit that arcane (which is the magic that set in motion all the fucking events in the game aside of the blood) is so fucking useless that the only way to make a decent run is to play with the MS.
And even with one weapon you´ll probably be stuck in OoK due to low damage output. Not even mentioning chalice runs.

DaS2 wasn't fanservice at all. You remove all the references to DaS1 and you'd still have a stand alone title, minus a few bosses and spells. You do that to DaS3 and you'd have one or two characters and Lothric.

>remove all the references
I’d have to remove quite a few bosses and gear for that

>With another fresh setting instead of a sequel

So what would be a good setting?
I think some western-like setting could be fun, something like Deadlands.
Use revolvers like they do in Bloodborne, make rifles separate main weapons like bows.
There are plenty of locations you could use: Mines, towns, forests, deserts, wetlands, canyons...

I'm talking about blatant references, like "notSiegmeyer" and "Aldritch, Saint of the References". You remove the references to DaS1's characters from DaS2 and you're fine. Vendrick is still Vendrick, Aldia is still Aldia, most of the bosses are unchanged. The game is stand-alone. DaS3 isn't.

>Better than animations = build variety
Having 10 copy paste weapons =/= build variety
>You are so deluded that cannot even understand what a build variety is, and how i can make 5-6 different builds in DaS with the same weapon and armour independently of it´s animations.
I have absolutely no idea what you mean, learn some fucking english, this is not a proper sentence. Neither is the one above, but at least that one is understandable.
>FFS you are so full of shit that cannot even admit that arcane (which is the magic that set in motion all the fucking events in the game aside of the blood) is so fucking useless that the only way to make a decent run is to play with the MS.
Arcane is far from useless, it's fun as fuck to use and the fact that you don't realize this shows that you're wrong. Here is another opinion by another user who agrees with this >And even with one weapon you´ll probably be stuck in OoK due to low damage output. Not even mentioning chalice runs.
What do you mean by this? That you can't complete bloodborne with the same weapon? Because if so, you can't be more wrong. Go replay the fucking game, all weapons when maxed out are balanced to do about the same damage.

All in all learn some fucking english before you try to argue.

I unironically want space, with the same intense as dead space and you can go to different planets and shit.
>tfw the MLGS is hidden on a moon

He’s perfectly understandable you sperg, stop getting so upset

I'm not upset, I'm simply pointing out how wrong he is.

...

>Copy pasted weapons
Everyone has it´s own stats, that´s why they are actually used to have more than 3,4 builds like BB has?
>Lol dude i have no idea about DaS building so i don´t understand your english
Have a (you) son.
>Arcane is far from useless
You sure? Arcane is the worst scaling of all damages, also the damage output reach it´s highest point before the DLC.
>B-b-but it´s not so bad
It´s worst. You literally have no idea and you are deluded by any webm that you´ve seen, because anyone who have actually played an arcane run knows that it´s the biggest piece of shit of the game.
>What do you mean by this?
I mean that with the best arcane weapon, you´ll be stuck in the lategame bosses of BB. Ofc you can spend like 20 mins fighting them doing like 300-400 dmg per attack. Or you can change your weapo... oh wait, you can´t get a higher dmg output since you raised your stats around arcane and not strength or skill.
That´s the only thing he got to refute, so...

Look, even only accounting for weapons, the choice of weapons in Souls affects how you approach a given situation more radically than it does in BB, and that's precisely because of how comparatively limited your moveset options are. In DS1, choosing to main something like the Zweihander means I'm specifically giving up defense and speed for the sake of stance breaking. Nothing in BB matters in this way, because your defense always defaults to dodging in the same way and even basic weapons can stagger most enemies. BB mostly plays out in a given way and doesn't allow for the same kinds of radical choices.

With some of the items in Das and Asura of the east, I really want to see what the other side of the world is like. Doesn't even have to do with rekindling the flame .

>I can make 5 or 6 different builds with the exact same weapon (but all of them play the same and half of them are unviable haha forgot to mention that)
>btw unique movesets are just cosmetic animations :)
>why would you want more than one character in a fighting game? all their moves are just alternate animations, it's just cosmetic

Sure, it'd be fine to explore more of either Dark Souls or Bloodborne setting, but what would it look like? Hopefully it won't be castles and knights again.

It's a bit overdone, but I'd like to see a From take on hell.

Asian inspired, should have weapons and armor from that area with some Western weapons springled in. Kind of like Nioh but not solely focusing on Japan.

>true sony kino

>The story is complete. Can't do much more with it.
could have the hunter from the first game as the final boss (as a great one)
or play as a great one

>It´s worst. You literally have no idea and you are deluded by any webm that you´ve seen, because anyone who have actually played an arcane run knows that it´s the biggest piece of shit of the game. Maybe you should actually make an arcane build before you start spouting bullshit.
>I mean that with the best arcane weapon, you´ll be stuck in the lategame bosses of BB
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I'm going to stop bothering here. You clearly never even gave it a try. There are already multiple people in this thread confirming that arcane is some of the most fun you can have. And here you are saying that arcane weapons fall off late game and become a drag because of their "low damage".

Oh fuck, 5 years!!??

Man, time flies so fucking fast

I've done every build in Bloodborne and Arcane is my personal favorite. I'm not sure where the low late game damage thing is coming from, when I used the appropriate damage type lightning/arcane/fire, I felt like I was doing very good damage. Also, while Bloodborne doesn't have very many spells/tools, I found all of them fun to use. Bloodborne and Demon's Souls are the only Souls games that don't use repeating spells (like soul arrow and heavy soul arrow) and I love those games for that reason, each spell feels unique.

Dark Souls 3 magic builds however in my experience was the least fun playthrough of a Souls game that I ever had. I don't care about pvp in Souls games.

Dark souls 3 is one of the worst games I've ever played, even ds2 is way better
