Nintendo whiffs again.
Nintendo whiffs again
$10M for a shitty mobile game that reuses assets is a hell of a whiff.
>Pocket Camp is just a normal AC game, but much smaller in scale and you can pay to skip the usual wait times
>doesn't make as much as gacha games
Feel kind of optimistic, actually. Shows people aren't entirely retarded yet and maybe they'll keep things relatively familiar in the next full game.
"this isn't working, clearly we need to make more gacha"
damn, so gacha games only really work in japan
why do japs let themselves get jew'd so easily?
Is that really how much mobile games make? Didn't GTAV make 50m in its first week? It seems completely wrong that this half assed p2w bullshit can be almost as popular as one of the biggest games of the last decade
Japs have notoriously bad taste, it's a well known fact. Not talking about the content creators, thought that's too.
They are not very smart
Mobile Games don't generate the hundreds of millions
Only about 10 apps at a time make over 100 million in revenue
You can be sure that everything that isn't in the top ~500 isn't making an awful lot of money
Also, Animal Crossing New Leaf sales doubled in Japan since Pocket Camp release, to the point that it was in the top 10 charts for a while again
Videogames is a dying market honey
In a few years everything will be mobile
Wider audience because almost everyone has a mobile of some sort and most people seem to have no qualms dropping a few bucks into some app now and then because of the small amount.
Haha you actually play video games? Haha what a fucking nerd, you should do it like me, pretend to be on social media while tapping a single button to increase a bar, also sometimes pay a few bucks to speed up the bar, I’m a busy man after all and I’m not poor, I don’t have time for games and I have a rich social life, it’s not wrong to spend money on a game you spend so much time on anyway
As someone who plays all three it makes complete sense.
FEH is a gacha game but has pretty decent gameplay and you can honestly play for hours on end because they give you stamina refills up the ass
Super Mario Run is okay but is mainly limited by the fact that unless you want to play Remix 10 for fucking ever you need to pay 15 bucks for maps.
Animal Crossing Pocket camp is just boring, its just collecting items to make your Camp and van look slightly 'cooler' without anything actually keeping you interested. You spend 3 hours in it and then the fun stops.
Thanks for reading my blogpost
Japan is a country of gambling addicts living where gambling is illegal. It was bound to happen.
*And GTA generated over 1 billion $$$ in it's first week, dwarfing most Hollywood movies and every mobile game except King and Supercell obviously
Waiting for when Rockstar buys out Amazon and I can buy an Infernus IRL
I love mobile games now
No, you're right. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp was poorly designed. There's no longevity at all unless you have autism.
I don't know what they were thinking with the "camp" aesthetic, because it's so fucking far from a camp. At this point my camp is just a home without walls or a roof. TVs, couches and everything that would go into a home, not a camp. So much about it feels so lazy.
They were thinking "how little effort do we have to put into this, while still making the game animal crossing enough for idiots to give us money?"
>Only about 10 apps at a time make over 100 million in revenue
That makes a certain amount of sense. There's only so many whales and idiots with too much money to go around, after all.
This pretty much, FEH is a fun lite version of FE that you can play F2P without any issues and Animal Crossing has absolutely no content. The base is there but I feel like it needed to stay in development for a bit longer so they could add some actual stuff to do and reasons to do it. You also have zero incentive to pay so that's going to hurt profits.
>FEH made 33 million
Damn, that's pretty good.
>all that money from those """games"""
This is how vidya will die. And people have the audacity to cry about how poor they are.
Vidya died nearly a decade ago.
Still nothing compared to main releases of Mario FE or AC
It didn't die, but it was dying. We've still had some good games come out in the past decade.
