2.5D was a mistake
How did people fall for this after watching Mighty no 9 crash and burn?
One last chance at Castlevania
Not the best chance but it's got Solid Snake and genderswapped Richter
Fuck video games
The crowd sourcing campaign was right after MN9's, before anything was revealed. We didn't learn that Inti-Creates had totally dropped the ball until later. Iga then gave Inti a chance, but realized in 2016, they weren't going to improve. So he fired them, and got a team that actually knows Unreal engine.
You were a mistake
that's not what my mum says
Who fucking knows. I'm not a fan of the 2.5D style they went with, but if it ends up actually being a fine spiritual successor to SotN anyway I'll be happy. It's the final "big" KS after Mighty No. 9 and Yooka Laylee so it has big shoes to fill.
>Bloodstained
>Female protagonist
Is that a menstrual cycle reference?
Based Iga. Inti should go under. I'm still mad about them not bothering to release Gunvolt on my country on release date. Dodged a bullet anyway game's not very good.
that's what she thinks
Hopefully.
...
She can change the thing she wears on the her head btw. And her scarf.
The characters and animation look quite good from what I've seen but I really don't like the environments.
Has someone drawn a pretentious muh feels comic about the funding of Bloodstained. They're a harbinger of failure.
here how it all going to go down
>Sup Forums will over hype it weeks before release
>game turns out to be good, nothing more or less
>multiple threads made by dwellers will be how this game sucks and how its a rip off just like MN9 and Yooka Laylee
Your welcome.
I don't know, but it looks like shit. 2.5D was a mistake.
Miriam is my girlfriend.
This, fucking why.
Iga made the PSP Rondo Remake, and he has the idea that 2D can't be done in HD easily. (he's right, but not that many people about HD).
IGA is an actual game developer and director. He's passionate about every single one of his games, including this one and this looks great so far and they regularly put up updates over the years. And they've already put up a playable demo too at one point.
Keiji Inafune is a shit businessman who fucked everything up and did everything wrong and swindled everyone out of their money. Every step of development for Mighty just looked so dubious that I never believed in the project so I never donated to it.
Bloodstained is gonna work. I trust in IGA.
They look about the same, graphically speaking
>They look about the same, graphically speaking
Doesn't matter what they look like graphically.
I'm feeling good about it. At least IGA got rid of inti. The kinda crappy graphics mean it won't be a 10/10 like SoTN, but if it plays well I think it'll be a solid 7.
Another thing to consider is that IGA seems to be paying keen attention to what the fans want. Stuff like costume customization has a lot of people really excited about the game cause you couldnt do much of that in previous 'Vanias.
as long as there are cool weapons and enemies ill play the shit out of it
>and got a team that actually knows Unreal engine.
Have you seen the visuals in the latest trailer?
>It's the final "big" KS after Mighty No. 9 and Yooka Laylee so it has big shoes to fill.
Shenmue. Is anything even happening with that?
That's because for some reason people keep assuming that to make a 2D game in 1080p you need to make everything native high-res assets, and not just draw stuff at lower resolutions and scale it up, which is exactly what Konami did with Harmony of Despair.
>which is exactly what Konami did with Harmony of Despair.
That was a poverty game. Iga originally wanted a 360/PS3 title staring Alucard. The project wasn't going so well, and Konami kept cutting the budget. Then Mercurysteam got the next 3D title, and Iga's game was cancelled. Iga was then allowed to make an ultra-low budget title with re-used assets.
God I forgot all about that. That's probably gonna end up shit.
With sprites it's harder to do character customization though, since you have to do lighting effects, etc. pixel by pixel instead of just making a model of a hat, boots, or whatever and sticking them on the character.
I wish her boobs were smaller.
Or you can just not do visual customisation, like every Castlevania game sans Alucard's capes.
...
out of all the >muh kickstarter games this one seems most promising.
I'm not expecting much, I would be happy even if it was just an Aria of Sorrow clone. They can't possibly fuck it up completely can they?
At least Iga has a bit more pedigree and seems more level headed then most other leads.
Not a chance.
Also, this:
This image is missing A Hat In Time and Overgrowth.
So this is going the full waifu game route
I appreciate it.
Overgrowth doesnt fit, it wasn't crowdfunded and it wasn't made by "well respected devs"
That's what everything we know about the game is pointing towards, so it'll probably be decent. At least Iga knows that everybody who funded this just wanted a Castlevania fix so we don't have an obnoxious blue dash needed to kill enemies
>wasn't crowdfunded
u wot m8
>wasn't made by well respected devs
It was made by the guy who made Lugaru, one of the earliest indie game successes, and there was huge hype for it.
>Overgrowth wasn't crowdfunded
What the fuck.
Overgrowth got crowdfunded before crowdfunding was a thing. before Minecraft, even.
I don't care either way. Castlevania is over, and this game has zero chance of bringing it back judging by the playable demo.
early access isn't really crowdfunding.
I can see his point.
Something is bothering me about the boobs (something seems off) but I can't say what it is.
