Is civ 6 decent besides muh women leaders?
One thing I hate about civ 5 is global happiness, is that gone in 6?
Is civ 6 decent besides muh women leaders?
Other urls found in this thread:
civ 6 is the very definition of "decent," and no, there's no more global happiness, it's per-city now.
if you're completely tired of civ 5, I'd say to give 6 a try, but the game really isn't better than 5.
Sup Forumstards all belong here now
I see. I like building lots of cities but 5 punishes you for that unless you deliberately keep your population down which is kinda dumb considering the context of you having more room
I've got over 200 hours in 6 and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
But with the expansion coming out in Feb I'd say wait for that. It seems to have a lot of features that should have been in the base game.
Right now the game feels like it's just about building efficient cities
Right now it's as good as G&Ks.
>there's no more global happiness, it's per-city now
You mean again
Now they just need to rework stacking and make diplomacy more reasonable and I'll give 6 a try
yeah yeah, 4-friend, I mean again
diplomacy rework seems to be coming in the new xpack, but that shit isn't going to be worth the pricetag they put on it
>not liking qt Victoria
Gay?
Anyway, it was my first Civ game and it wasn't too bad, although each game seems quite similar (build up city, start expanding with more cities, build up army while fighting barbarians, get war declared on me by one or two neighbours).
Victoria looks like an Easter Island statue, fucking hideous. I want to fuck the new Indonesian leader though.
Wait for the first expansion and it will get close to Civ V. Lots being added (and re-added).
Did they confirm if the expansion will make religion less shit? religious combat is so fucking bad I started wearing a fedora
>muh women leader
All civ games are full of women leaders.
Of course faggot, trap loving neckbeard Sup Forumstards are offended
>muh women leaders
The fuck is wrong with that, fucking idiot? It's history. The problem is retard 3rd world civilizations who didn't develop from ooga booga after 3000 years.
>not playing civ 2 still
Most civ games have apt woman leaders. This has fucking Gorgo.
This. 2 and 4 are the best and there's no reason to not be playing them.
Anyone else fond of pigs?
Hi Tumblr, who's on duty today?
3 with the Rise and Rule mod is better than all of them.
Morgo is a strong independent woman, ready to fuck you with dragon dildo anytime
She's a Spartan baby shitting vagina and nothing more, like every single other Spartan woman.
it's shit
MOHNAY
Remember when they decided to make diplomacy less transparent and quantifiable than in 4? Really goes to show you just how sensible Firaxis are.
Civ2>=Civ4>Civ6>Civ3>Civ>Civ5
Boring as fuck.
Just can't get excited about it. There's just something about the game that screams mediocrity.
Can't stand the mobile tier cartoon optic. Stay with 5 and enjoy a better game.
i dont like the graphics
otherwise its just civ again
I am fond of pigs.
And if you can't stand the impossible to lose wars due to the one unit per tile rule and braindead AI, go back to civ 4.
Stack of Doom was a terrible shitty mechanic and there was nothing of value lost with its removal.
4th was the last good Civ game.
there's a mod called dynamic diplomacy, which alters the weight of various diplo modifiers, so that the AI sperg out way less.
>there was nothing of value lost with its removal.
Except a little thing called challenge, but that wouldn't matter to baby shitters I suppose.
I like the women leaders desu. I only ever play games versus the cute ones. However, to answer your question Civ 6 is decent and I prefer it to Civ 5
winter patch have some religion stuff. added a new unit called guru (healing unit). put religion units on their own move layer. gave flank/support bonus to religious units. reduced the tendency of the AI to create a flood of missionaries.
might make religion more aceptable, but I'm not sure the patch is live.
I have a theory that most of the brains at Firaxis were put on the XCOM team and most of the dummies were put on the Civ team.
Say what you will about the modern XCOM games but they feel competently made and like the developers actually knew what they were doing. Civilization 6 felt like they had somewhat of a clue on what they should do with the game and were a bit in over their heads.
it's decent if you know what mods are required
for example the CQUI
Sure was challenging to create the bigger blob. Tell me more.
It's kinda okay but every game feels sam-ish.
Hopefully the expansion will change that.
Sure was challenging to slaughter an entire army with nothing but an archer and city bombard, tell me more.
>put
The main designers behind Civ pre-5 no longer work there. They have a bunch of toibois working there now, as evidenced by the retarded amateur decision making in designs and how they feel the need to virtue signal with their product over making a good game. They said with Civ 6 their priority in introducing new leaders and civs was that there be a 50/50 split in representation of female and male leaders. Regardless of the fact that there are only a handful of verifiable and factual female leaders in history that accomplished anything at all that would be close to deserving of being represented in a game based on the premise of history's greatest visionaries waging a grand strategy battle against one another.
Clearly you've never played on Deity.
No, the women leaders might actually be the best thing about it. It's fucking trash.
You shut your whorish mouth it is not
It is fucking not.
>build happiness providing buildings
>befriend a city-state or 2 for mad happiness
wooooooooow
Yeah you can't spam cities without paying for it in some way makes a whole lot of sense to me
>playing on easy difficulty
lol
on actual, non-babbys-first, difficulties you get 3 global unhappiness from each city, and local happiness from happiness buildings cannot counter this, the buildings only counter local unhappiness from population. way to out yourself as a pleb.
I don't mind the leader selection too much because I'm more focused on the rest of the game being such a fucking mess.
My favorite complaint will always be how I have to select a city and then press a button to see what tiles my citizens are working and reassign them.Civ 5 only required me to tick that once a session, in 6 I gotta do it every time (and if I recall correctly, 4 just required me to open the city view). Are we supposed to be going forward or back?
>said the guy unable to go wide
its called roads faggot, use em
just what are you playing on anyway?
Maybe, I'm more inclined to put XCOM down as an alignment of the stars. It was good, but I felt like the expansion was kind of pointless for high difficulty play. Meld in particular was kind of an awful idea.
Civ V feels much more like new devs trying to put their stamp on an old property, which is why so much changed from 4. Some of it good, like the hex tiles, some of it awful, like 1UPT, horrible pathing, terrible diplomacy, useless espionage, irritating religious mechanics, global happiness and city states. Shit, why do I like this game again?
expanding is the point of 4X games, keeping only 4 cities doesn't give the feeling of having an empire
My problem is how many patches they've released and they still haven't even addressed the fact that time scale and movement are fucked up, you still end up with units becoming obsolete before they can even get to the fucking danger one city away most of the time.
>muh women leaders
wat? every civ had women leaders
>Suicide a couple of flanking units into the enemy doomstack
>It's now fucking useless and you can clean it up with minimal losses
Oh boy, blobs are so OP amirite?
Actually they hired board game designers to do Civ 6
This is probably why districts take up a hex now
I don't really see the point of just making Civ 5 or 4 again but with a new coat of paint when those already exists
These should be an attempt to try something new and see what's good and what's bad to carry intro future games
I can't say I like the new tech tree, the units in early industrial era feel pretty lame compared to civ 5
You actually have happiness troubles?
I only play on Deity and almost universally go wide, rarely ever building happiness buildings because science, production and trade are so lucrative.
How you can ever have happiness troubles that culminate in anything is beyond me.
You really dont seem to know jack shit about wars in civ5 for someone running his mouth like you do... consider suicide...
I have vanilla civ 5 and enjoying a lot but i'm getting tired. Are the dlcs really good? Am i good with just bnw?
>Play shit game
>Get DoW'd
>Retard AI sends units one by one, only have a city and an archer but still win
>Retard AI offers me money to stop war
Such deep and strategic warfare. Are you a braindead shit baboon by chance?
>women leaders
For what purpose? Not even 5% of Civ's fanbase are women. Probably most women playing it are trannies. There's no reason to pander to women because they don't play these type of games and never will. Secondly, women leaders are a retarded idea because most countries never had women leading them in the past. It's mostly a modern day thing, and tons of countries still never had a woman head of state or parliament. I bet they stuffed the game full of nobodies and random historical figures of little actual importance.
what about builders onlly being able to built 3 things before disappearing?
>said the guy unable to go wide
literally what are you on about, moron? of course I can go wide if I want to
Stop playing on chieftain maybe? Stop replying and just go off yourself already.
>I bet they stuffed the game full of nobodies and random historical figures of little actual importance.
That is exactly what happened.
>Secondly, women leaders are a retarded idea because most countries never had women leading them in the past. It's mostly a modern day thing, and tons of countries still never had a woman head of state or parliament.
Please don't speak of history when you're clinically retarded.
then play on epic timesetting, smartass
althought I agree the movement is boringly slow in rough terrain
There it is the "muh chieftain" response. If you actually knew the game you're defending, you'd know difficulty doesn't effect AI. You really are a fucking chimp, no wonder you cling to the easiest braindead installment of the series.
>I bet they stuffed the game full of nobodies and random historical figures of little actual importance.
You forgot women leaders that we cannot verify ever existed in the first place.
sure got defensive, didn't we? If you were a deity player you'd easily known the difference between local/global happiness, but you outed yourself like the noob you are. Pathetic.
G&K is still a good idea to get
your first post indicated you had major issues going wide and just had to whine
i suggest how to solve said problem and now you are just being a moronic bitch
we are done here.
yeah what about it? what about feeling like you actually get stuff done, instead of waiting 8 turns for that first mine?
No no no, you're forgetting the amazing challenge of lategame combat, where the AI suicides troops into massed artillery and machine guns while you lose no units ever. That's where real strategic superiority and tactical thinking comes in.
Real talk though, it feels absolutely hopeless. I normally only play on Price/King difficulty, and it's depressing knowing that the only way I can get a more engaging challenge out of the game is by allowing the AI to cheat and spam retarded numbers of inept units at me.
my first post only indicated that your noob ass didn't know the difference between local/global happiness. there is no recovering from that, no matter how much you lie about playing deity.
>Most games require no brain cells to play, threads are often pretty chill
>Civ games take 3 brain cells to play, threads are extremely hostile, shit flinging everywhere
>Grand strategy takes 5 brain cells, threads are even worse than civ threads.
What did Sup Forums mean by this?
>leadership must only exist in the context of a (modern) state and it's politics
Sup Forums is full of virgin losers who have the need to feel superior to someone, and video games are their only way to do this
>I bet they stuffed the game full of nobodies and random historical figures of little actual importance
Also the wives of the extremely famous leaders. Justinian and Hannibal come to mind in particular.
>Hannibal
Are you talking about Dido? Dido wasn't Hannibal's wife, she was the mythical founder and queen of Carthage, and probably to be honest a better choice than Hannibal. Hannibal was not the ruler of Carthage at any point.
Also Theodora actually was very much the leader when Justinian succumbed to the plague.
If you're going to go by that metric than Wilson's wife should be in the game because she became a shadow president after he had a stroke and couldn't ruin the country as fast being a vegetable.
I like it, that'd make the Americlaps mad as fuck.
Well fuck, got my stories mixed up. Ignore me, I'm a retard.
Justinian or other later emperors would be better choices, but I miss Theodora.
>We strive to have a diverse and varied selection of leaders, and it is also very important to us to include female leaders. Women are often underrepresented in traditional historical accounts, and recent scholarship has revealed more and more the fascinating and powerful women that lived between the lines of history textbooks.
This was actually in their press release for the new expansion.
I think Constantine would be the best, he finally put an end to pagan degeneracy.
das rite das rite not only is the future women, the past was too!
>pagan degeneracy.
it is irredeemable trash. DO. NOT. TOUCH.
I don't mind them including historically famous women, however this smells like alternative history
Hardly, since XCOM 2 is good as well. I think the thing about XCOM is that the director kinda planned his whole life around getting to make an XCOM game, and he sounds extremely protective of it as well.
Every CIV has women leaders, just like history. VI is kinda lackluster compared to V but the expansion drops next month so we'll see, and the last time I played it (around 3 months ago), religion was kinda retarded and the AI would REEEEEEEEEEEEEE at literally anything.
My concern is that their desire for diversity in leader selection will affect the civilization selection.
The only idiotic female leader is Gorgo, Tomyris would be, but Scythia itself is fucking retarded as a civ.
I was done with this game when they revealed they made "Gorgo" a leader of Greece, a woman who never actually did anything of political importance, over the dozens of more influential Greek leaders. That's just obvious affirmative action.
youtube.com
My favourite soundtrack next to Scarborough Fair.
It did. See: Scythia
I have a couple issues with the game.
1, the AI hardly build cities.
2, they forward settle right on your capital in the beginning or right next to you which would not be a big deal if they werent all the way across the map with plenty of room around them.
Those are my only issues, other than that I really am enjoying the game.
Theodora is my civfu, I hope they bring her back to VI.
Constantine would be amazing wonder why they never added him.
I dont think we will be getting any Byzantine leaders unfortunately, they seem to be going with nobodys and leaders that have a big personality.
