-Looks pretty good while not being too hardware intensive
-Lowered price multiple times and was given away for free at one point
-Designed for competition but without the need for forced meta
-Can easily be played for short bursts or long sessions

It's great for killing 20 minutes without having to get too invested.

Have now, many of these clips are old. Very useful trick.

Don't sweat it. The stat differences between cars are so small it took half a year after release for people to discover them at all. They only start to matter in the higher levels.

specifically stuff like hitboxes are a bit different, non-boost non-aerial turn radii are different and other weird indirect shit
movement speed, jump height, boost are all the same, as well I believe as car weight for the physics engine

How are the tournaments nowadays? I know a group of my friends almost won a major tourney that would have been a big upset a few years ago since they were beating top teams in warmups, but they ended up being exausted by the time the tourney actually started because it got delayed a few hours or something and they were east coast so they had been up all night.

Well Cloud9 vs Gale Force is on right now. There are now two leagues, RLCS (upper) and RLRS (lower). Top 2 RLRS and bottom 2 RLCS have to battle out for promotion/relegation each season, bottom 2 places of RLRS are open qualifier.
