ME, i'm Majora haha

Some kind of diety that lives on through that mask and it carries out its will through others.

Some guy with a mask, presumably.

I hate how people call Majora the mask itself. He just owns the mask, or created it. We will never see or know who Majora actually is.

Nobody cared who he was until he put on the mask

some dragon, the mask was made from the shell on his back

That's not canon.

A metaphor for Link's anger

Literally a mask.

It's called Majora's Mask.

Who was or who were?
Wasn't the mask created by a tribe or something?

The ancient tribe the salesman mentions

Majora backwards is Arojam. That should give you a hint.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

now i see...

yes yes yes...
you're a retard.

The guy who originally owned that hexing ritual mask, presumably.

Also Majora's Mask is the best art asset in a game. The design is beautiful and unique.

MORE THAN JUST A MASK, BOY

MUCH, MUCH MORE

Majora's, not Majoras'

I see now, thank you

you're mum is not canon

Better question: Why did Nintendo remake MM for their shitty 3d calculator instead of remaking it for a console which is actually capeable of something?

English is not my first language, but I think it wouldn't be wrong to say Majora's as in the Mask of the Majora Clan. Probably even more correct if they go by that collective designation.

money and time, same reason they made Majora's Mask in the first place. They had already remaked Ocarina of Time, only a few steps from there

Because they don't have a console which is actually capable of something.

There's no evidence that the clan was called Majora, as far as I know anyway. I always assumed that the mask was taken over by some evil spirit named Majora, hence the name.

Majora was the little kid wearing the mask, duh.

Majora is in the mask. That's why the final form is called Majora's Wrath. What you see is quite clearly what Majora is. Who Majora used to be is less clear, but the entity inside it is clearly Majora.

It’s a BR trying to stir up shit

Actually, Incarnation more closely represents Majora than Wrath, given that it's LITERALLY Majora's Incarnation.

Wrath is just a representation of anger.
Incarnation is the closest we'll get to the real Majora.

I really like Majora, it's a being that just doesn't make sense in any way

Yeah, I like your post. It's an Chaotic deity trying to destroy a world because that's what it does.
Was the Fierce Deity mask sealed on the moon? I wonder if the MM thought it would do to Link what it did to Skull Kid, make him it's puppet and then kill two birds with one stone, but it simply backfired

how the hell did i not see this before

The evil in the mask isn't Majora, it's simply pent up evil from being used in the hexing rituals by the tribe for so long. Wrath being its ultimate incarnation shows its true form, pain and punishment, hence the whips. Majora could be the name of the tribe. We see in the game that the magical masks possess the souls of people sealed inside them. If those people were at peace like the Butler's son, Mikau, and Darmani, then their spirits were at peace too. One would imagine people that die wearing Majora's mask in the ancient hexing rituals would have all their pain and anguish poured into the mask until its dark powers grew and grew.

At the end the happy Mask Man notes that the evil is gone from the mask, so much like Link made lots of people happy by clearing their personal demons across the game, he even did so for the mask.

>The evil in the mask isn't Majora, it's simply pent up evil from being used in the hexing rituals by the tribe for so long.
Those are not mutually exclusive.

In the game all of the transformation masks are people who were transformed via the song of healing, sealed in the masks. It's logical to assume that Majora was some ancient entity that was sealed into a mask via the same spell, making it Majora's Mask. The mask was then used in hexing rituals because of its magical abilities.

Timeline would be:
>Majora is some evil chaotic entity
>someone uses the Song of Healing spell to seal it into a mask
>mask is in the hands of some ancient tribe that uses it for curses and spells
>then they get spooked by it too and it is lost for indeterminate amount of time
>Happy Mask Man obtains it

My headcanon is that the Fierce Deity character in the past sealed Majora in the mask and then also sealed himself into a mask for the future so that his soul could be immortally used to stop Majora any time it returns. The Majora kid in the moon calls the Fierce Deity the "bad guy" so obviously he's fucked up his plans before.

The real question is why are all the moon kids Happy Mask Men?

The mask's mask.

Except, the song of healing soothes souls and heals them, it puts them at peace.
Majora is provably FAR from peace.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT NIGGERS MIND=BLOWN

That's fine, because the core premise is that there's established magic that seals living things into masks. All masks we see that have spirits in them are the result of this magic.

Except that the only established magic of this you have is invalid in Majora's case

Except it's not, since the established magic is that it's possible to magically seal beings in masks.

We never know, and that’s the beauty of it. It’s a provocative, well-written game

>it's possible to seal souls into masks without putting them to peace
Just your headcanon, we don't know that

What would happen if Ganondorf wore Majora's Mask?

Except we see it happen after every boss battle. The Poe collector even says the song can't heal all souls.

>every mask in the game that has a soul in it has been an entity sealed into the mask
>a magical spell is used to to this
>this magical spell cannot put all souls at peace
>but somehow this one mask is an exception to the rule because of your personal headcanon

Nah.

An HD collection of OoT and MM for Switch would be great.

...

Gf just got.me.this for 3ds. Mever played n64 ver cuz was being bombed in serbia.

What am.i in for?

>gf
>phoneposting.

A great game, just make sure you actually 100% it, the game is designed around it's sidequests.

He will crash Hyrule with no survivors.

Probably a Jew.

Because people can already play the N64 version on virtual console

He'd laugh and toss it out, like he did with the Fused Shadow

Because they could get away with what is essentialy a very in depth remaster, not a remake in order to maintain the feeling of the originals.

As I understand the 3DS remakes use a lot of assets from the original games, just probably not many of the art assets.

It's probably a wise decision too. Remaking a game like that using such superior technical capabilities would probably require a lot of changes that would piss people off more than please them for tainting their favorite thing.

The mask salesman.

Those are implied to be the Twili from TP

fpbp

But Majora's Mask doesn't even seem to be a transformation mask, it's kind of its own thing. Skull Kid doesn't physically change when wearing it or anything and it has a mind of its own.

Tell me about Majora, why does he wear the mask?

Only $300 I'd bet.

god this game was so fucking weird

Not all spirit masks are transformation masks.

>Captain Hat
>Kamaro's Mask

Majora's Mask seems to be more in line with sentient possessing mask

Depends on the spirit of the mask. The only possibly evil spirit mask Link wears is the Fierce Deity mask.

God I love Ganondorf so much.

You spend the entire game hearing how the fused shadow is insanely powerful when it is all together and Ganondorf just completely no sells it.
