Can you imagine genuinely holding the opinions of Sup Forums? You'd never fucking play anything. Years would go by, hundreds of games would release, millions of hours of playtime would go into them worldwide, and you'd play essentially nothing because one flaw turns you away completely from everything. You would be utterly self-absorbed in your own misery and dreadfully inexperienced.

On the other hand, I'd be a braindead casual happily wasting hours on boring empty shit like Breath of the Wild.

Some boards are good at getting entry level taste but that's it. People should move on quickly from that and form their own opinions.

I don't take many opinions spouted by most user's seriously, but you ocassionally get that one golden thread that allows for some good discussion of a game beyond the circle-jerk of praise/hate that always appears on Sup Forums and everywhere else. It's the only thing that keeps me coming back here besides the fact that I don't need an account.

I've lurked for 12 years now and this is true. I watch anime more than play vidya now when it used to be the opposite. 2017 was great for games, though.

There's a ton of posts on here where people talk about how amazing some game or other is.

It's a lot easier to notice when people say something shitty about a game.

If a game is getting too much praise here, sooner or later a post will come by trashing it, and vice versa. I'd imagine holding the opinions of Sup Forums while playing a game would be like some irrationally heated argument with yourself while slowly and sarcastically picking apart the game you want to enjoy piece by piece.
