How to I rescue him?
I don't get, it says I need a bed in the middle of nowhere?
How to I rescue him?
You must designate a bed as prisoner/medical bed.
>start new game
>max out my special snowflake self insert OC
>give him a waifu
>start game
>find out they both can’t haul
I’m fucked aren’t I?
yes
you can use a save editor to edit their backstories mid game to one that will allow them to haul or use prepare carefully on a new save to tweak characters before you depart
Bump for rimworld thread
What the fuck do I do now
I tried throwing a molotov and sealing it but it heats up the base to 1200C degrees
post thrumbos
...
build turrets all through you hallways and let them out
or burn your base down with them in it and start over
Can I just coexist with my new neigbours?
i havent played in years wtf are those things?
bugs.
no, they like hammering loudly even late at night. they'll keep you up unless you call the landlord
tear down those rooms near the room theire in and line the room theyre in with some sort of stone wall
then toss a moltov in there and burn them, the stone walls wont transfer heat as much so the rest of your base should be fine
nigga just use the fucking yorkiers as meat shields while you mow htem down
other solution is to heat the room to ridiculous levels but since it's wood it would catch fire after 300ª
Last time this happened to me. I had 50 assault rabbits and just sent them after the bugs. I lost 35 of them in the battle. My butcher worked 12 hour days for 2 days and he still couldn't butcher all the bodies before they rotted.
does this shit still happen ?
I was getting tired of walling in an entire room with cement and making the floor fucking MARBLE and they still randomly spawn inside of it.
The fuck man.
whats the benefit of taming one except it being a killing machine? no luck so far
I dropped this game after googling how to bring food to my animal shelter's stockpile and finding out you basically have to mod the game or harvest and hope your guys bring it there in the first place or else you're boned.
I lost a pupper but at least I made it mostly safe
What should I do to prepare for these infestations?
it's called stockpile priorities and it's been in the base game for a good while know. how long ago was that?
either
>wiiide hallways
or
>dont dig lol
but i stopped harvesting new food, I just want to move one stack to another stockpile.
poor pupper misacarried ;_;
find the main hive in some mountain and burn it
So what's stopping anyone from planting cloth/devilstrand and making gorrillions of dollars, making the game piss easy?
Take it off the allowed list and they'll move it. Allow it after they move it and set priorities if you want The food distributed to two different locations.
yeah. Adjust the priorities and unpause the game, then you can right click to haul from the lower stockpile to the higher one. You need to let the game run unpaused for a split second, so your colonists perceive the change, you may have just been sitting on a paused screen frustrated. Try it now.
fuck it
whats a good plan for tribal tier food storage?
eat it
but if I start out as a shittribe and make massive food piles. What do with the food im not eating? shitcan it? let it rot?
Keep in mind you can do this with instantly placed sleeping spots too if you really need a quick prison/hospital room.
It's not that easy. You gotta grow the cotton, You gotta have a good crafter or train one up, you gotta make quality clothes. Anything under "normal" quality sells for fuck all.
Also your wealth influences the difficulty. So just amassing wealth doesn't always make the game easier.
use temp cooler?
love how many rimworld threads have been on Sup Forums lately, good game really comfy. playing it a lot these days.
fuck your technology we dont need that evil shit
Chain shotguns+ run and gun mod works wonders for infestations.
You can just sell cloth by bulk and still get mad dosh though? And if you really want to make money, getting an 10+ artist is insane cash
then move your tribe somewhere cold and keep the meat buried in snow
B18 is pretty good man
Make into pemmican to store and sell it in the long term. Or don't grow as much food your just wasting time you could be putting into other tasks.
Glass Him
Whats everyones priorities with starting skills/research?
Replace all that wood with stone, and build your underground complex in such a way that you can easily quarantine small sections.
Then you build the furnaces.
Remember that the rooms will still be hot after the fire is out.
Shooting, construction and medical. Then I rush for gun turrets ASAP
Also you're gonna want to place vents between the rooms so everything heats up evenly.
Are the insects a new balancing mechanism for mountain bases?
alright, what do i do first?
so much wool
>Are the insects a balancing mechanism for mountain bases?
Yes
>new
No
Cthulhu or Hastur ?
It can happen anywhere inside of a mountain, regardless of whether it has a proper floor or not.
Its meant to be a threat for players that hollow out a mountain in order to make an easy to defend base.
Not neccessarily. It just means you can't utilize stockpiles near your base. They can still go out and grab resources when they are making things, it just takes longer because they have to go out and get the shit everytime. Eventually you will have another colonist join who can haul and he/she can be your slave.
I know the creatures aren't new, was just wondering about them spawning inside bases already because I never saw in a pretty long game about two updates ago.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know I saw the effort you put into this post to make a funny reference. It's unfortunate you didn't get any (you)s after attempting it, so I'm here to give you one. You did a good job, and I appreciate you posting with that sense of humor.
How do I learn to play this game? I tried it out because pretty confusing
>cold wave really soon in fall
>crops die
>food supply is kind of low
>start running low on food about 2 weeks after winter starts
>release prisoners to save food
>get raided
>dog died and 4 of my settlers almost died in that raid, but thankfully have mostly recovered
>eating the raider corpses and hunting everything I can find now, trying not to starve
Hope a trader with some food comes soon, so I can survive the winter
thx
have a (you) in return cutie
I appreciate it and think your .gif is very funny. This will be my last post because I don't want to fill the thread with personal posts. I will at least bump it.
Keep on posting how you do, user. You're a diamond.
Trying out a sea ice game
don't know what I'm doing, just trying to research hydroponics at this point. Probably won't have materials to build the plant holder things.
Do something like this. Block off the outer hallway and place doors where I marked (probably make them out of steel so they don't break easy). Open that door to their area and get that colonist out of there. Wait until they move away from their nest and then break down a spot where I marked in red. Build a door there, and then do quick shoot and retreats until the nest is destroyed and the bugs are killed. Make sure you have colonists repairing the doors while you are doing this.
What's the point of rescuing crashed colonists in your immediate area if they just leave when they can walk again?
Burn the base. Cleanse this area.
Sometimes they'll immediately join, sometimes they have other shit to do.
If you want them for sure, capture them instead and then convince them to join.
A non-fuck around way of getting colonists on short notice would be great. Maybe they could make you pay out the nose for it or they're capped on starting stats to compensate.
I seriously hate not having the labour to expand.
can the individual insects reproduce? I know they have sex so I want to capture a female and male megaspider and then breed them
Woha, didn't know oasis could form
I want to get into this game. Any starting tips?
Eat at a table
Just build what you can and observe demands.
How hot does it get? You should probably focus on getting a cool place for your colonists to live, that and growing some food. Probably also plant some trees.
It's rough. You need to pretty much resort to cannibalism to survive. You probably shouldn't have used so much steel so early either. If your close enough to a non sea ice tile on your map or another faction, then trading/setting up mining colonies in the summer is pretty crucial to get resources.
If your really want them (good stats) then attack them when they leave and then capture and recruit them.
>star wars, 40k, and lovecraft mods all at the same time
It's pretty nice how compatible the mods are.
...
is that a mod that adds that finish off button or is that in beta18?
rimworld more like RNGworld where the fate of your entire colony is entirely up to RNG
gottem
most of the time when i rescure someone they offer to join me but it might be because im running the hospitality mod
Are you trying to suggest it would be better without rng?
>no events
>no procedural generation
>same settlers every time
What storyteller do you guys like? My boy Randy seems pretty tame these days.
rough(or the one above rough cant remember the name) Cassandra is pretty fun
ummm
how to harvest from area
Options-> Max # of colonies.
Did you rescue a drop pod guy and waste 5 medicine on him only for him to walk away or did you luck out and he joined you? RNG. Did you go hunt an Ostrich with your best Hunter in broad daylight but for some fucking reason he missed every shot and got brain damage from a claw to the face? Rng.
Seriously, screw this game when it decides to fuck you.
Am i missing something? I have a doctor with 14med skill and it says skill is too low for a prosthetic shoulder
Thanks
>Wooden base under a mountain
You were asking for it.
Has anyone ever managed to take one? Are they worth it?
Git
Gud
I like wood bases.
no because im not bad
>getting into melee range
It's about minimising risk and rolling with the punches. The shit you mentioned is literally part of the fun.
>get into a fight
>already know the outcome before it happens because there's no variance
Hope you are enjoying the (you)'s for being so retarded
fug
RIP Ern
>Did you rescue a drop pod guy and waste 5 medicine on him only for him to walk away or did you luck out and he joined you?
You can attack him after, capture, and recruit if you really want him.
>Did you go hunt an Ostrich with your best Hunter in broad daylight but for some fucking reason he missed every shot and got brain damage from a claw to the face?
What did you learn? Don't go out hunting aggressive animals without a buddy or two to help out, or just use better tactics.
Life is filled with random shit. Hunters can get fucked by animals all the time.
>sends everyone out on the caravan
Hopefully raiders don't show up and fuck up your base or some random fire event is triggered.
>screenshot name RimWorld
funny looks like prison architect
well another beta test fucking rpg maker shit hole of a game
man these fucks cant even make their own games why you buy this type of shit it encourages them to think you cant mod games
Good thing those centipede things are slow af.
Trigger Happy or Careful shooter? or neither?
