There's a secret exit in one of the levels that opens a path from where your'e standing.

It's either found in the haunted house or the level you're standing on

Nice of the princess to invite us over for a picnic, eh Luigi?

any level with a red dot after completing it means there is a hidden exit

buy some lootboxes to unlock the secret path

did you know you can go into pipes

There's a secret path in literally every one of those levels. The red levels have multiple exits

You have to go back to the first level and play your way back to the castle on the mountain and the path will open.

Enter the last pipe in Forest of Illusion 3.

It wasn’t until years later did I realize this. However I was lucky to learn about rainbow road from another kid at circuit city. Got to the end game that way.

How do you get the secret in that one Chocolate Island level that has you loop around in a similar way until you get it? I was never able to figure out how to do it. I just kept repeating the level until I got it. It felt like the in game time had to be a certain value or something to get there.

I just run though it as fast as possible and I usually get the secret exit.

Finish it really fast. Never understood the purpose of that secret though you just go in a circle

It's based on time I believe.

>Circuit City
We got a veteran here.

Also is the Japanese SMW more "difficult"? I have it on my JP 3DS and I swear there's stuff about it that feels off.

How the fuck do you get into the last fortress before bowser's castle!?
I've been wondering that ever since I stopped playing SNES when I was 12

This game is so much fucking better than 3 it's not even funny.

>Circuit City
Wew lad.... The building that was a CC near me turned into a Ross Dress For Less

You know the level below it? With the yellow walls that move up and down? In the final stretch you have to jump on top of the wall, above the screen and run to the left. There's a keyhole there

>Literally first videogame I ever played
>tfw I realized that in my 20s

I had a CC and a Ross near me the Ross still exists right before CC went out of business I got a random strategy guide for 14% off

What is it about this game that made finding secret paths feel so damn good?

You're going to just love Chocolate Island 3

...

...

That one wasn't fair

...

google got stuck here too my first time

Pretty sure this level has a key exit in one of the tubes that a Lakitu hides in.

...

...

...

where'd he go

my circuit city also turned into a ross, did they buy out their locations or something?

coin heaven

I recall not really liking the forest and cave levels in SMW. Also
>Tubular

...

>did they buy out their locations or something?
No. It's just a coincidence. I work at a Big Lots that's located where a Circuit City used to be.

I'm pretty sure that there's hint near the start of the game that tells you this.

For Yoshi.

>That one wasn't fair
You're right. It was way too easy to find out, and not even that difficult to execute.

this is the casual filter my friend, its as far as you go

sharpie in pooper

Holy shit, I forgot those stores ever existed.

you can also farm hella extra lives on the level that you're standing on

get the star from the glass brick halfway thru the level and then run to the left and you can star kill like 20 enemies. you start getting 1Ups after a certain amount. then just start+select out of the level and then start it again. you'll start at the half way point of the level which is right before the glass brick anyway

Ive played SMW about 1000 hours so yeah

I'm surprised he didn't discover one of the star roads long before he even got here.

Not really man I beat this game 100% when I was like 7. The older Marios were much harder to me. SMW was casualized.

What are some good SMW romhacks?

...

>Super Mario Oddysey
say what

Romhack from 2013. It's forever a demo, but it's quite the interesting take on SMW.

>What the fuck do I do?

You go play a Genesis.

Which ones have different mechanics and gimmicks from other games like Brutal Mario? That one is my favorite romhack even if its forever unfinished.

where do the talkhaus projects come into this power ranking

Raocow? Circlejerk category.

You could also get past the goal if you flew high enough.

>Circuit City

woah

It was pretty easy, you just needed to cheese it with Yoshi if you couldn't git gud using the cape.

No you have to drink the Mtn Dew and look under the cap and plug the code into Gamefuelpoint.shekels and then you can use the double xp to buy the perk that you use to unlock the ability to buy the lootboxes.

Also
>levels with big pads have more than one screen
>levels with small pads are only one screen in length

>vaguely have memories of playing smb3 and smw as a wee child
>was too young at the time to actually beat them
>playing smb3 and smw on GBA was my 'real' experience with the games
and looking back... jesus fucking christ.
constant WAHOO LETSA GO and reduced resolution. damn dude.

...

Take it back

Every time I want to agree, I remember there's only a fire flower and the cape in SMW and then I just want to call it a draw.

The only thing holding back SMB3 from being better than Donkey King Country is not having enough Goomba shoe levels. I would have also appreciated more chances to use some of the power ups like the frog suit

Scan the Mario cereal box

How the fuck is Forest of Illusion music creepy.
If anything it feels mysterious/heroic.

Well nigga, there's only this one creepy remix out of literally one billion trap/dubstep/hip-hop remixes (and spoiler: they all sound like shit), so I'll just chalk it up to someone wanting to put an original spin on it.
