He's right you know
You've posted this thread like four times now. Please end your life if you're not going to use it for anything worthwhile.
>google his games
> bunch of no-name ones and Serious Sam Random Encounter
Huh. I guess I'll never buy Random Encounter then.
That dumb motherfucker clearly doesn't understand what micro means and the whole concept of virtual.
I’d rather frame it that *if* games need microtransactions then what good are they as a product? If the only way to make money in the industry is to nickel and dime then it’s a failing industry on the level of coal and cable TV.
>buying a console/computer is the same as paying 2000 dollars to unlock everything in a 60 dollar game
the fuck
>$400
>Microtransaction
This guy knows what micro means, right?
>sjw on twitter says something stupid
shocking
the point is they they're getting your money through other means
The financial levities that microtransactions provide to third party AAA games are served in first party games by funding straight from Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft(lol) that would've received that from console purchase incentives, the reason they make exclusives in the first place.
Dunno why the guy says it's a fucking microtransaction though. Like I get what he means, considering the context, but that's just stupidity on his part.
Sony and MS sell their consoles at a loss so...
he's right, you know
Who would invest a budget so high that the sticker price alone isn’t enough to get in the black? If you need microtransactions your accounting sucks.
Just imagine how much MS is losing on every Xbox One X
>defending microtransactions
Rami Ismail is the term "Useful Idiot" personified.
But you still have to buy a console/computer for the games with microtransactions too
Fuck no they don't. Not anymore at least. Especially MS The margin of profit are tiniy compared to last gen sure, but they're still selling at a profit.
Big investments for big returns. They haven't stopped doing it yet, so it probably still works.
Whoa, he's right. BRB gonna go use my Battlefront DLC to go play some more games.
It was bait
That’s not business then; it’s gambling.
Except for the whole part where a microtransaction is the sell of virtual digital goods. Not actual physical shit you can buy in a store like a $400 console.
I'm convinced at this point that most of these threads are posted by the people whose twitter pages are shown in the screencaps, because I've never heard of this person and he's not even able to convey his message across like someone who's worth anything would.
A PC is a bona fide multipurpose machine with so many different parts and so many people building multiple versions of the same part that it's unfair to even remotely compare it to a PC. There's no a single person sitting in the armchair of the PC® company counting the money of all the people they forced to buy a PC® because of moneyhatted games.
Sure, applefags, but that is also a glorified console too, and the unreasonably high price and cult of retard followers shows it.
I'm willing to bet this guy would defend terrorism if it made EA more money.
Tomb Raider sold 4 million units but needed to move 10 million to break even. No, this model does not “work.” AAA publishers are locked in a financially irresponsible arms race designed solely to appease investors interested in short term gains over long term sustainability. A ton of major publishers like Midway and Acclaim already fell. AAA publishers are all playing a dangerous game, constantly teetering on the brink of collapse. They’re all one massive flop away from bankruptcy.
Is this motherfucker seriously comparing hardwares to softwares?
How is EA getting my money if I buy a ps4 or build a computer?
who's this idiot and why should I care?
>supporting a dude who he and his family (parents) wanted a extremist group (that burned churches in Egypt) to remain in power
Sup Forums has themselves to blame.
If microtransactions are so vital how did third parties survive from 1985-2008?
It's not gambling if it's calculated.
MTX exists because people fall for them. And by people,I mean the greater public. The dudebros, the schoolkods, and the bored dad, Not the type of people who goes to the internet to talk about games. And for them to be sucked in to the game in the first place, it needs to be big. Pretty graphics, TV spots, ads plastered around billboards, buses and so on.
I meant it works for the publishers. Shareholders, you know. The peeps with money on their mind. I'm not saying it's good for us, the devs , and definitely not the Industry, hell no, we're heading towards a crash for sure, but before that, the suits are gonna milk it dry, and get theirs as much as they can before it all crashes down.
Assuming this is all already "too big to fail" by now, but I don't think there's any special interests who gives a shit about the industry or medium enough to save it.
he probably thinks it means large or massive since he keeps hearing his girlfriend refer to his dick as micro.
They recently updated the numbers and TR is at 11 million units sold now.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is at 7 million shipped.

Did your forget the new Tomb Raider was publlished by SE? They're notorious for incredibly unrealistic expectations on their western end, and incredible leniency on their home games(read: FF)
>A PC is a bona fide multipurpose machine
Doesn't matter. You have to buy it to play the game anyway.
He might as well complain that you need to buy a house to play in for Mario so as soon as you start, you're $200,000 in the hole.
>Fuck no they don't
There's no way in hell Microsoft is not losing money on each Xbox one x sold.
why are there even people defending microtransactions? it's like they want to pay extra for nothing
I wonder how many of those were "sold" at the $1 tier of a Humble Bundle.
I'm pretty sure you should disregard all sales after the first six months or so, because those copies are always sold at "please get this shit away from us" level discounts.
Those are macrotransactions.
>$400 console
That's more like a macrotransaction
Oh right, forgot about Scorpio. I was thinking about the OG xbone. My bad. Hell, I legit forgot it came out.
Is there is a cost analysis for that out anywhere yet for it by the way?
I'm not defending MTX, I'm explaining why it exists the way it is now. The easiest solution would be to scale down games, but that means less returns.
The people defending them are all 100% shills. There is no rational reason to defend them unless you're personally getting rich from them.
Games were cheaper to make then, and gamers didn't refuse to buy a game until it was -90% in a Steam sale.
