The game literally tells you that they aren't extinct and that there were isolated incidents of Valkyria popping up over the years throughout history, including a Final Flame scenario being witnessed during the in-universe WW1 in some battle.

My point is that you never hear about any of the valkyria other than Alicia and Selvaria in VC1.
And you never hear of other than Selvaria and Riela in VC3.
And you never hear about any other than Alicia, Selvaria and Aliasse in VC2.
Why does it bother you that VC4 has another one that we never heard of before, when we never heard of the VC2 and VC3 ones in VC1 either?

In Selvaria's case, she went completely underutilized since Maximilian was a retard.
There were no other Imperial valkyria before VC4.
Riela and Alicia are both Gallian valkyria, and Aliasse was still too young and unstable to be used at the time of VC1/VC3/VC4 taking place, heck she's still too unstable in VC2 and by that point she joins Gallia as their third valkyria.
If anything, it's Gallia that should've conquered everyone else seeing as they have 3 walking nukes now.

Suddenly in 3 there was another Valkyrie that could have tipped the balance and 4 has the same. It retroactively cheapens 1 wif there are valkyria running around everywhere, these women are meant to be walking atom bombs

FYI they're only atom bombs when they have access to the lance and shield. Without them, they're just super fit humans that can regenerate from wounds faster. It's the lance and shield that allow them to become nigh immortal since they amplify the powers of the user. Selvaria's got fucked up by Alicia at Naggiar which is why Selvaria fights you as a regular human bean in Ghirlandaio.

Crimaria Lewin (voiced by Yukana) – The Valkyria known as the “Queen of the Snowstorm.” She is the special duty captain of X-0 “Xechs Oule,” which is the Imperial science institution’s special test unit. Because she was forced to live as an experiment at the Valkyria experimental facility, she has a strong inferiority complex. She acts alongside her friend, a wolf named Fenrir.
Forse (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa) – Tactical commander of the Xechs Oule Imperial military unit that appears countless times before the protagonist and company. His legs are disabled and thus he does not participate directly in battle. He has great confidence in himself and is always composed.

The designs are just as goofy as azure revelotion wtf

Berger (voiced by Shou Hayami) – The supervisor of Xechs Oule. He is of noble background and is an executive at the Imperial science institution. He has the authority of an admiral, and Xechs Oule are his chess pieces.

Kiara Rosina (voiced by Yukiyo Fujii) – A special member of Xechs Oule. She and Nikola Grev were brought up together like sisters at the Imperial research institution. She is assigned the duty of eliminating Berger’s enemies. She has a sadistic personality.

Krautz Voltz (voiced by Hiroki Touchi) – The captain of “Ausbruch,” an independent gang of the Imperial army. He is a veteran commander who charges into battle with the strong conviction to “protect the people living in the Empire.” He battles riding a dedicated tank.

I really hope they don't dumb it down to VC1's gameplay complexity. VC2 might have awful writing and VC3 might have too much Shounen but both had great gameplay, especially VC3.

Sounds like the game will basically explain why the Valkyrian "Orphanage" that Selvaria and Aliasse came from went to shitter after the war and why the facility was moved to Gallia since the entire important staff of that thing are enemies in VC4, while in VC2 only the head scientist woman is still alive.

Already confirmed that VC2 and VC3 classes are gone though.

VC1 had multiple weapon types so those are definitely still in. I'm expecting everything from VC1 to be back in terms of gameplay systems, with some new additions like that Brave system and Grenadier class.

It's not "XC 2 level of bad" but it isn't that good either, i can dig it.

Did you even play the game dude? Some of the classes looked retarded. VC1 was easily the least anime, that's why people liked the series to begin with. But every game after has only got more ridiculous.

The dumb-looking classes require you to promote into them late into the game, and are terrible anyway. If you even make an Anthem Corps, you deserve to look at how stupid it looks.

The only dumb looking ones are Anthem Corps are Fencers/Maulers, both of which are advanced midgame to lategame classes that aren't forced on you and which you can completely ignore and still beat the game. Especially since Anthem Corps and Maulers are legit terrible and the only purpose of Fencers is to one/two-shot bosses since they're also terrible for everything else.

Valkyria Chronicles would be a better series if magic can be practiced by anybody and it's balanced against guns and swords.

The point still stands though. VC1's were pretty normal looking compared to 2. Even comparing the normal suits in both games 1 is less anime.

this list is fucking stupid, VC1 had elite versions of the classes too so you might as well double the listed classes for 1, or get rid of all the X veteran, X elite versions for 2 and 3 and you will get a much more fair comparison

Not to mention in 1 Lancer played entirely differently depend on the weapon type you had them equip, so you might as well count them as two different classes as well

The point doesn't stand at all.
VC2 has equally normal looking uniforms as VC1, in fact VC2's uniforms are more realistic looking than VC1's uniforms.
VC2 has standardized uniforms with no custom touches, while VC1 is full of custom shit (Isara, Rosie, Alicia and Zaka take a big fat shit on the dress code).
VC1 has a much more fanservicey and longer beach scene than VC2's pool scene.
The only part where VC2 loses is the new OPTIONAL classes having meh designs and your Valkyria (Aliasse) also having a horrendously stupid design.
Overall in terms of designs, VC2 is in the same tier as VC1 as a result.
Now fuck off.

Lack of Gunners will be legit horseshit in VC4 though if they don't at least give us Gunner weapons for Shocks, kinda like Lancers has Mortarer weapons in VC1.
Engineers and Medics being the same class is also stupid and they should be separated, or at least allow equipment specializing.
Those are the only things I want from VC4 that were in VC2 and VC3.
