The hype for this game is weird.

I didn’t even get this excited for Sonic Mania and I’m a Sonicfag.

I mean you do realize this game’s like a year away, right?

Yeah, it looks like megaman.

I don't trust Capcom at all. But, the fact that this is a Switch exclusive gives me some hope, because maybe Nintendo are putting their foot down and refusing to accept any shenanigans.

The trailer reads like it was just made to gauge potential interest. It looks like what was shown was all they have so far and they have no real concept or strategy beyond that.

They're updating the art-style, but are they going to update the gameplay in a meaningful way? Again, I just have no faith in Capcom to know what the hell they're doing with this series. It's like their own Sonic except instead of trying, they usually just don't make games.

I still really wonder what those gears are.
And then there is the fact that what I am assuming is the normal weapon energy as you'd expect.

Though it is interesting that the metre is there when he doesn't appear to have a weapon equipped.
And I know about the dragon arm. That just makes me wonder just what this is even more.

It’s not Switch exclusive...?

>But, the fact that this is a Switch exclusive
It's not. It's on just about everything.

>Switch exclusive*
*Also on PS4, Xbox One and PC

JUST SELL THE FRANCHISE TO NINTENDO YOU FUCKS

Ok, well nevermind then. I made that assumption because of the shitty trailer I saw an hour ago that only had a Switch logo.

How many franchises do you want Nintendo to own?

>muh tr4sh
Also it's not like Nintendo isn't sitting on a pile of dead franchises themselves.

Anyway, to your point about gameplay, there is some sort of super mode Mega Man can tap into now. It’s not clear what it does, though.

They also brought back more Mega Man 7-esque gameplay (slide, charging, and Rush assists) that were missing from 9 and 10.

So the age of 2.5d platformers is upon us. The new 3ds Metroid must have been successful. I am still not entirely convinced of this technical aspect though.
What do you really gain from 3d? Gameplay never takes advantage of this third dimenaion, and the textures on the 3d models are typically not as sharp and aesthetic as those of 2d sprites. In this day and age it might be cheaper to make 3d models, is that it?

To be fair Mania was just shit we've seen before. Sure, the game is perfect, but Mania lacks identity and it hurts because the original stages aside from the Mirage Saloon tornado stage were great

I just hope the level-design and flow and music and all that shit are kicked up a notch. I love classic Mega Man games, and would've been happy with a MM11 in the vein of MM9 & 10, but since they're updating the graphic style, I expect the gameplay to outshine that, since that's what is most important after all.

Like if this isn't the best classic series Mega Man, it's going to come off as pointless.

Maybe it's just a way-too-obvious thing that everyone thinks about but doesn't bother mentioning because everyone knows, but damn does it feel surreal that there's any media franchise with installments that are just very plainly numbered and go up to FUCKING 11. ELEVEN! I mean sure the Jap titles have subtitles in addition to the numbers, and there has been at least one instance of breaking that combo in the classic series with Mega Man & Bass. But still.

It looks okay so far.

Classic megaman level design is shit compared to the 2d megaman x games and legends

Yeah, cheaper and most of the audience doesn't appreciate hand-drawn animation / sprites anymore anyway, because 3D = technology n sheit

>What do you really gain from 3d?
Less effort and budget. Good sprites are a chore to make and Megaman isn't as big as it was to excuse it.
>b-but Hollow Knight!
Alright. See if you'll like a Megaman with that same style. I assure you you'll bitch about it.

>I didn’t even get this excited for Sonic Mania and I’m a Sonicfag.
You don't sound much like a fan, to be honest.

Mania had new stages as well, not even mentioning new bosses, visuals, gimmicks and layouts for even the remixed old stages.

>I don't care if there is another thread
This is why most of Sup Forums has gone to shit.
FUCK YOU.

What's shit about it? The levels are just sequences of screens that are full of platform and enemy placement. And for the most part they all seem to give a sense of a coherent space being explored. They don't need to be huge, sprawling maps full of nooks and crannies and shit.

>tfw I can't beat mega man 9

i was pretty hype for mania, sold a game when i saw the trailer, and put the money in a box to buy it later. day one buy.

This though? I have been a mega man fan from the age of 8. I do not have a switch and now i will buy one. today. I cannot wait to play this. I hope, i really HOPE Capcom doesn't fuck it too hard with Micro Transactions.

>tfw when it came out I played it enough where I had almost everything down to muscle memory, but now I'm too lazy to deal with any classic mega man game for more than a couple of stages

>slide
Eh i didn't saw any sliding in the trailer

>Play it on the hardest setting
>it's not nearly as hard as I expected it to be

All Mega Man classic and X games on the Switch next year. I guess I'll be playing a shitload of Mega Man again.

yeah, everyone is really clamoring for that Devil World Remake right?

Really? Pixelshit is 99% of mobile games.

I can't make WebMs...

Then play 10 on Hard.

That shit is a battle.

Honestly not even that surprising considering that theyve been around for 30 years now.

There's 26 Bond movies made in 55 years. Essentially the same pace.

I never liked 10. Probably my least favorite after 4 and 6. The music sucked and the robot masters were kind of dumb and uninspired.

even the bosses change their attacks. MM10 was fantastic.

YES I LOVE IT
>also on pc
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

I'm glad that MM1-11 and X1-8 are now on PC without the need for emulation or anything.

With consoles it sucked reconnecting my Wii to play MM9. On the PC it will always work.

>people thought Nintendo get Mega Man after Sm4sh
>Capcom comes out and puts it on PlayStation instead
Top10Animebetrayels.png

>a shitch exclusive

King of Fighters is one of the rare other examples. I'd hardly count Final Fantasy, though, given how wildly different the installments can be. Just categorizing by gameplay styles alone it's like they have multiple subseries within the mainline series' name, what with the more traditional RPGs, the MMOs, and now more action-y RPGs, and then each installment also has the chance to expand into a subseries of its own like the FF4, FF7 and FF10 sequels/expanded universes. But (classic) Mega Man is Mega Man, and all attempts to make it different are ultimately called something different.

Weird I'm the exact opposite. Huge MMfag for years love basically all the series, but I don't have much thought over this other than "meh hope it turns out okay". While Sonic Mania was my most hyped game of the year.

>The music sucked
You suck. Gay boy.

you realize this game is getting released next year already right?

can't wait for it to play like ass and becomes another floaty ass 3d game that can't get the original physics right.

>Looks identical to MN9
>Megaman fans fall for it again

the fact that you dont have to dash at enemies to fucking kill then is already a plus

>another
Has this been a thing?

I thought that was just done to power up Mighty.

It's on everything.

HELP I'M FUCKING RETARDED AND I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO

enemies dont die if you dont do that

Mega Man 11 actually has less detail.

stop falling for bottom of the barrel shitposting.

>The music sucked
Hold up

I thought MM10's soundtrack struck a far better balance between different styles of tracks while also sounding familiar to fans of the series compared to the rather uniform 9. What exactly did you not like about what was on offer?

Right looks better

unironically kill yourself

They do, but they're bullet sponges otherwise.

>Right looks better

I want to have sex with Roll.

Based on the early footage of MM11, it's missing dynamic lighting and the object textures are simple.

So, yes, MN9 actually has more detail.

nothing as good as magma man theme or galaxy man stage theme

youtube.com/watch?v=AdDbbzuq1vY

I'm gonna need some sauce on that.

I really don't get the hate for MM10 music myself, sure it may not have as much good as MM9 but it's still great
youtu.be/ZEoD0E7btPI
youtu.be/fzWpXhde_YE

Yes, its common when 2d games are converted to 3d side scrolling the physics is always fucked up and are either floaty or simply so wrong that it ruins it. Sonic 4 is one example.

>MN9 actually has more detail.
Then how about saying "MN9 has more detail" rather than saying "MN9 looks better"?

because MN9 looks like shit and that would be a blantly lie

What hype? All I see is people bitching about it.

>this is what the cancer ruining this place looks like
>this is what the average console war shit poster larper looks likes

fuck yeah! solar inferno.

in this trailer, not really feeling the music at all. we'll see i guess

None, or at least thru should just be a third party company like Sega

No doubt the years have changed me...

Oh shit im blind,thanks

One of the posts quoted in literally said that MM11 has less detail, not that mn9 looks better, you blind retard.

youtube.com/watch?v=3aSC5A726f0

>terrible music
>bland level design
>weird artstyle
>mn9 all over again

I couldn't help it - I had to fap to the post-oral MM8 Roll from Konpeto's Roll-Out set.

Fuuuuuuuck

I give no fucks about Mega shit. The only thing from that announcement that mattered to me was the future X collection which is long overdue and to see retards happy about a sequel to a franchise that's already over saturated is hilarious

Sonic, Mega Man, Phoenix Wright, Castlevania, and Bomberman

I take MM11's announcement to mean Capcom cares again and thus AA Switch and DMC5 are real.

Call me when X is revived, and none of that X7/8 bullshit.
Something closer to X1-4.

do you realize you're becoming a barneyfag?

>MM already has a lot of games so it doesn't deserve more games

Love this meme.

There have also been threads where people have shown their enthusiasm for the game as well. Also, Sup Forums is not the entire internet, places like twitter and the like have lit up with plenty of excitement for the game.

Reminder that Gameinformer has a picture of Megaman getting a Starforce costume.
This game is literally "Megaman's Final Smash: The Game".

Buy the X collection when it's released because Capcom won't give a shit about X until you show them there's money in it

Megaman Legends 3 will save this series. It just need to be made by the right studio.

Are any megaman games available for the 3ds?

I'd love a Legends remake, it'd also practically be mandatory because those controls were fucking terrible and would prevent the series from attracting new players

Some classic X games and the Legacy Collection

All the six NES games are on Virtual Console and Legacy Collection 1.
All the five Gameboy Games are on VC, though 2 is a stinker.
Mega Man X games on GBC and SNES are also on VC IIRC. The latter only works on new 3DS.

From DS games that are backwards compatible your best bet would be Mega Man Zero Collection. Star Force and ZX series are both decent.

There is nothing wrong with tank controls. It fit the gameplay perfectly and gave it a good skill ceiling. But I agree, to save this series, one must pander to normies.

I think it would be a very good roguelite/RPG adventure hybrid. Procedurally generated dungeons with refractors, connected island type world map (like ff12) with towns, quests, and maybe a sidegame involving fixing the airship and building a town for resettles. They should probably reset the timeline though, since the plot was kind of broken at the end. The cute girls need to stay though. It would have to be a japanese studio.
