I'm only at the end of Banga settlement chapter but does the combat ever get better? I'm in love with the movement and aesthetic but I can see the combat getting very repetitive over time, also the mining is kinda boring.

combat is a bit shit it will not get that much better but traversal does so you have that to look forward to
bump
also when can you do the online stuff
>combat is a bit shit it will not get that much better
guess I'll just have to live with it then
spent 20 mins or something just flying around the village and landing on the underside of flying boats, it's so fun
The combats never anything to write home about but yes, you get several additional combat abilities from the power up system
>Dodge kick
>Slam kick that you trigger by pressing jump and kick at the same time
>Gravity Slide kick
And then the two different gravity forms (or at least lunar because that's as far as I am) modify your gravity shifting abilities including your combat ones and each version is more useful depending on what you're up against
The level up things you can get fairly quickly. The first gravity style is mission 8 i believe
Oh AND you can increase the number of kicks in your combo to ludicrous numbers
Mining sucks but is pretty much 100% optional after you leave the settlement. The combat isn't amazing but once you unlock the additional modes, it becomes usper fun.
>Mfw I dont mind mining even a little bit
I was fine with it at first, but then when you're trying to max something out, it becomes an absolute chore, because it's essentially singleplayer grinding. You can get a decent boost to things without too much issue, but if you want, say, 9+ for Gravity Slide, then you have to get 39 drops of the same thing.
Ohhhh
That would be why, I haven't messed with that yet
another question, when and how can you do the online stuff for dusty tokens? I want to get all the rewards before servers die
Just do Treasure Hunts
I don't seem to have that unlocked yet. But I'm only in the first town
Game says Raven has increased talisman drop. Is it true? So going with her into Delvool is a good idea for talisman farm?
Just keep playing, you'll get a camera to take pictures and share which people can Like for Dusty Tokens, and you'll be able to look around Treasure Hunting and stuff.
this is fun
When you'll get lunar style it'll be even better.
when can I get cute costumes for Kat
>preorder
>dusty tokens
>remastered save
>story progress
>dlc
You'll get your first soon enough.
I did get the free DLCs but don't see how to change yet
You can change when you get the camera. You get it as soon as you arrive in Jirga.
As soon as you leave Banga and arrive in Jirga Para Lhao
You should also try doing a Gravity Kick at an upwards angle and then pressing L1 to let the momentum of the kick propel Kat though the air.
gr3 when?
never
nobody bought Kat's game
that city looks cool as shit
It has a massive graphical overhaul in GR2 too.
gravityrushcentral.com
Guys, don't forget to tweet to save the GR2 servers!
Remember what Lisa said: "if we don't fight for what's ours, we don't deserve it"
is it true you can travel seamlessly between the new city and the one from GR1?
yes
but not right away
Not really massive.
It's great, I love that it's got all of the map from the first game and the new areas so there is plenty to explore.
Well it has less ugly textures anyway. The rest of Kekseville got more a graphical upgrade.
Only right before the ending
I meant Hekseville, Hekseville!
Yes, you need to get to a certain point in the game but when you do you can fly to any area in the old and new maps without load screens
But the textures are arguably worse and GR2 is much blurrier than the first game.
>but does the combat ever get better? I'm in love with the movement and aesthetic but I can see the combat getting very repetitive over time, also the mining is kinda boring.
The new styles do add a lot of variety to the combat. They alter how your basic kicks, gravity kicks, stasis throws, and even dodges work.
The new styles are worthless for combat in most situations.
Gravity Rush 2 features way more sophisticated lighting and shading. Draw distances are also way better and there are more interactive objects.
The remaster is nice because it's 60fps but it's visually much simpler than GR2.
>tfw it's been a whole year since my hype reached interdimential levels because of this game
What a ride the first quarter of this year was for games.
That doesn't mean it's better it just means it's different.
Also generally speaking, hand crafted lighting is better than super HD dynamic lighting simply because many people with taste decided on the final look. I know GR2 doesn't have effects like that but I think it looks worse overall than the first game(image related is a good example). Also the draw distance is actually worse in the second game BECAUSE of that ""improved"" lighting + gimmick physics stuff.
>Also the draw distance is actually worse in the second game
The fog in GR1 remastered is so aggressive, it's like PS2 GTA tier.
I remember one year ago I was getting excited for GR2 and all the other 2017 games and around Christmas time they put out the GR2 and Nier demos on PSN. One year later, I am morning the inevitable closure of the GR2 servers. Very bittersweet.
The fog is atmospheric and it exhibits that black outline on the LOD. GR2 has much worse LOD(meaning lower quality models) and far more gameplay related pop-in. And there is tons of fog in this game too.
the fog actually looks nice aesthetically in GR1 and they made it look more like an illustration
I know what LOD means, I play games on the PC primarily. In my opinion GR2's world is much better looking and more sophisticated. GR remastered looks great for a Vita remaster and Bluepoint does great work but I think the new game looks better.
...
I was kinda sad when the effect wasn't improved in the second game.
I'm just saying it's not a massive improvement over the first game. Maybe if it kept the 60fps it would've deserved some props but they basically traded that but a lot of blur and worthless volumetric effects.
How the hell did this game not get any nominations for best art design or art direction? What a huge snub.
>but
meant to say for
...
Are you really asking that?
It also has some really great music.
bad joke
Because game awards ceremonies' idea of deciding "best art direction" means looking at 4 buzz worthy indie games and maybe a couple jrpgs.
scenes are also way more dense in GR2, there's never very much on screen in GR1. Physics are probably the main reason GR2 isn't 60fps, you can fling around a lot more shit by pressing circle than you can in GR1.
I don't even remember if you can take her there outside story missions. I think I got literally every talisman there is to get by doing the in-game challenges, online challenges from randoms, treasure hunting, and from getting Dusty Coins. I think going deep into the Delvool is useful for encountering Rare Nevi, and maybe coming across a Ghost of the Fallen (I only ever came across 1).
What do you mean?
Physics are what drop the FPS below 30 so yeah.
After you beat 30 levels of delvool you can use her for mining.
I played GR2 like everyday and for the last two nights there were no gravity storms and I wanted to do more Delvool
>tfw to smart to GOTY awards
>The cocktail dress and the tanktop have visible nipples on the model
Holy fuck
i've always found it amusing, based japs
ok

I always liked how sony funds these weird niche games but with the server shutdown it makes me think they'll stop doing that. It'll be a shame if they do desu
I like Kat's puffy cheeks.
They're getting complacent, it's happened before.
We need Nintendo or MS to start stomping their shit in so they start trying again.
>I always liked how sony funds these weird niche games but with the server shutdown it makes me think they'll stop doing that. It'll be a shame if they do desu
this
I really don't want pic related to be the only games Sony fund and releases
I like Kat's positive outlook
No one bought GR2 so they shut it down. All of you will buy God of Cuck and its brother games so they will keep making those.
>All of you will buy God of Cuck and its brother games so they will keep making those.
Speak for yourself. I have no interest in the new Good of War or TLOU2, so I'm not even gonna bother sending my time on them when I have better games to play.
>All of you will buy God of Cuck and its brother games
Nah. I didn't play TLoU or any uncharted since 2
Had a blast just fucking around in this game, best part of the game for sure, the actual gameplay was always a bit frustrating actually...
>ywn be this gud
I tried the races in remastered last night, I suck ass. Barely can get bronze
he's not even that good
I just want to fly around a comfy city, should I buy this game? It really doesn't seem like you do much else from what I've seen of webms of this game
I really enjoy sliding races. Too bad GR2 only has like two of those.
yes
there's combat and a story but they're rudimentary. if you just want to fly around a city there aren't many better games
it's not comfy but you do fly around
I want to kiss her fivehead
>it's not comfy
It's the comfiest game of the year.
mate even asscreed was more comfy this year.
>I just want to fly around a comfy city, should I buy this game?
Yes
But there are actual story, side, and challenge missions for you to do as well. The story and side missions can be a mixed bag but some of them are quite memorable, like taking photos of girls for an old man or impersonating an idol. It's also quite rewarding to get good times on challenge missions and to beat the challenges from players that you receive.
Japan Studio deserves a crossover of their own
>Using shoes while lying on the bed
Disgusting.
Kat is dirty and uncivilized!
seek mental help
no
...
...
sliding would be more fun if it didn't control like shit
How do you bounce off of stuff? I keep colliding into everything when I try this.
Literally nothing is wrong with controls. Even jupiter is very tame unless it's +9
I wish they kept the sliding controls from GR:R because those were perfect.
Why didn't Sony market this game?
Did Nintendo market the new XB?
How do you make a Jupiter +9 talisman? Do you just merge a bunch of Jupiter slide increase talismans together? How do you know if it's a +9 or +whatever talisman since I'm pretty sure the talismans don't list numbers?
>Did Nintendo market the new XB?
I've seen ads for it on TV
