I don't have a lot of time right now but I work at Bethesda Softworks, obviously I can't verify my sources so I can keep my position but in the coming months you'll be able to verify all of my sources.
The game going under the codename is Starfield is nearing its nearing it final production, so within two months expect to see a trailer drop. As to what it's about, well, let's just say that Starfield comes close to Bloodborne in terms of the type of setting they're trying to go for. It's very Lovecraftian, and not much of a space theme rpg.
Here are the more interesting aspects of it. Bethesda made their own engine for the game, so expect some positive changes to the game that make it stand out from previous Bethesda titles. It will still be a first person title like the rest, but Bethesda worked hard on making a combat system that worked just as well in third person as it does in first, with a devoted dodge button that allows the player to side step attacks. Since the game is Lovecraft theme there will be a lot of horror themes, but there are still some humors and creative side quests that I don't want to spoil for you here. Speaking of quests, there will still be radiant quests ala Skyrim and Fallout, but Bethesda tried very hard at making sure that their normal quests are varied and various leaving radiant quests for the very end game stuff. Also, Bethesda is going a little experimental with Starfield leveling, in that they're returning to a more Morrowind and New Vegas non level scaled system.
Starfield will be released within the next year. They're still trying to decide if they should include Creation Club within the release version of the game, but since the add-on got so much negative press they're wondering if it's worth the possible blowback especially since EA's entire debacle with lootboxes.
