So switch fags, is this thing needed or is the regular setup just fine?

I prefer it to the joycons but it's not like it's a requirement
It's not needed, but it is much better. The d-pad fucking sucks, it registers the wrong direction all the time. I heard the Xenoblade controller fixed it though.
This
I have a launch model and my dpad works as it should. The problem is hit miss. Ive only heard the XB2 model is less sensitive than the older one.
thisits nice but not at all needed. i also use it for PC so after i sold my Wii u pro controller and its so much more comfy
>I heard the Xenoblade controller fixed it though.
really? i actually just bought the Xeno one as my first pro controller. is there a way i can test this? is Sonic Mania good game to test it with?
I had to get it the joycons cramped my hands
the best part about it is the fact that when you go to put the switch in your dock you don't have to take the joycons out. and you can turn the console on remotely unlike some third party solutions.
the dpad, even if it registers correctly, is too clicky and sucks ass. even the joy con non-dpad dpad is better.
Joycons are good. The only problem in joycons is small analog stick. Othere than that its good
This, the right analog stick is awful imho, it's killing my hand
I heard this on Sup Forums, so take it with a grain of salt. BotW is how I learned the d-pad sucks ass, but Shovel Knight is a good game to test with
How clicky is it? New 3DS clicky, or DSi clicky?
Nice for a second player controller assuming you have someone to play with. Also good if you need a backup controller to use when batteries get low
I actually prefer my joycons. Even as a pretty big guy they fit my hands well
It's a god-tier controller, but definitely not essential. Mario is better with JoyCons but mostly games are better with the Pro Controller
For me it depends on the game. I prefer playing Splatoon with joycons, but I prefer the pro controller for Skyrim or Xenoblade. I don't care either way for Zelda but usually prefer joycons because it's more comfortable on the arms.
YMMV
I actually really like the joycons myself. Being able to put my arms in any position when using them is pretty comfortable. It comes with an accessory to put them together into one controller and I haven't even used it.
Just use the soy cons you massive nu-male
Having an issue with mine in Xenoblade 2 where if I point the left stick straight forward, he slows to a walk. Any other direction he is back to running. Doesnt do it in other games, and joycons work just fine.
Use the system settings UI to test it.
Joy-Cons are just fine. If you're looking for a controller with a good D-Pad you're better off getting an adapter to use another company's controller. It's a good controller but it's definitely not worth the price and you'll be just fine using the stock.
>skyrim on a console
y
I have it on PC too. I couldn't say no to Todd.
I got this for 2D games. Joycons (specially split) are completely acceptable.
Then why the fuck would you buy it again? Especially a version that runs worse and has no mods?
It's personally my favorites controller. It's really comfortable. Wish it had analogue ZL and ZR though. I think the joy con grip works fine, but the pro controller is definitely nice to have.
Regular setup is fine.
Pro controller is a plus.
it's better but not required I think.
I'm sticking with the doggy just because when I get the pro controller I want it to be a limited edition one I like and I'm not into Xenoblade.
If you really need a conventional controller in the meantime you can use a wii pro controller, but I think dog grip or even just the joycons in each hand are perfectly fine.
Split joycons are fantastic. I didn't realize how nice it is to have a split controller until I had one. Just comfy as fuck. I find the little slide-grip-things make them less comfy though.

this guy seems to be a fanboy but he pulls both apart and he seems to conclude there is a difference that most would consider an improvement but not a massive difference.
the joy cons are good
but the pro controller is great
it's expensive but well worth it
much more comfortable to play with pic pro controller, i do not regret my purchase
I don't mind the lack of mods so much. They improved vanilla Skyrim a lot since launch except for the shitty UI. SkyUI really is the only thing I miss.
And I enjoy playing it on the go. I have to go on business trips regularly so it's nice to have.
pretty much required
the thumbstraps just make it bulkier, the naked joycons have an edge but it's still more comfortable,
I use the cradle, and it's adequate. Not the best controller, but not bad enough that I would buy an outrageously overpriced Pro. I don't use the joycons separate because I already have to deal with tacked in waggle bullshit, I don't need to be further reminded of the Wii.
I kinda want to make some 3d-printed tiny edge-rounder to give it a bit of a bit of a bevel. Could just cover up the little buttons on the inside, not like they're ever getting used.
The switch was fucking made for business trips.
I have flights booked for the next fortnight and I'll be taking my switch on the plane and playing at the hotels too.
I have an ultrabook that can run games, Skyrim remastered easily for example but even a slim ultrabook isn't as stowable and convenient as the switch.
waste of money unless you play fighters. But at that point might as well invest in an arcade stick
is this good for pc too?
