Kind of my first playthrough? I had another character when I got the game like a year ago but I literally only made it to the second bonfire in High Wall of Lothric because I didn't know the game had multiplayer so I don't think it counts.

I find it pretty fun when playing with other people, matter of fact I'm not willing to play it alone. Games like DS stress me the fuck out if I'm not playing with a buddy/people online that can help me.
I'm not having much trouble, I just need to learn to dodge properly. Although I'm kind of in a rough spot.

Mobs drop the same amount of souls regardless of your own level. The best thing to do would probably be to just farm an area and reset, repeat that a few times.

If I were you I'd try to progress though, your build isn't unsalvagable, but I'd start focusing on either being melee or a caster, because you're not gonna be able to do both with an investment like that into HP.

I was doing that at the dilapidated bridge bonfire with the big rat in the sewers, killing it and resting is pretty quick but that thing only gives 450 souls and farming like that takes forever.
Haven't been able to find another spot with the same bonfire-big enemy distance/time ratio.

What's the last boss you've killed? I'm guessing it's the Abyss Watchers.

Yes, Abyss Watchers. Right now I'm at the big skeleton with the golden bracelets, killed it many times in other people's games but not in mine yet.
Yesterday I decided to go back and test my luck with the uh... Thing(?) that's behind that door but from my multiplayer experience/retardation I've found that it's impossible for me to kill with less than three teammates and I can never find enough summon signs. It's always one, two if I'm very lucky or none, most of the time.

I don't have a password, why can I never find people to summon? Have I passed the casual filter already?

Kill the bracelet lad, after that there's a bit of a jump in difficulty, but it'll set you on the right path, and it'll give you a lot of souls.

Doesn't the game make itself harder if you summon people with higher levels? How does that work?

Not for you, if they're too high level for you, their stats will be diminished, doesn't affect you. This is only achievable when you summon people through passwords though, as people this much more leveled than you wouldn't show up without it.
