>Every RTS is now made only by Relic or Creative Assembly
How do we stop these hacks?
>aoe4 turns out to be just coh w/ more factions
Relic made some great games before DOW3 though, and I think they realised their mistakes.
CA games are always unplayable on launch and have laughable AIs, but they're also always fun as fuck to play.
Nothing wrong with that. RTS can only be resurrected if it goes towards more COH and DOW style gameplay rather than AOE and SC type korean apm spam.
Then they can make CoH3. They should keep the classic food, wood, gold gameplay intact.
>tfw Battle for Middle Earth III
Don't remind me. EA is dead, and license is with Warner Bros anyways.
All other bigshot rts companies went belly up or bought and gutted
>10 factions at launch
>1 faction locked behind pre-order
>at least 2 factions sold as day-one dlc
>$30 season pass for additional factions to come
>Egyptians will be black
>game will require at least 30 GB
>Denuvo
MS knows how big AoE is, as evident by them remaking all three original games and making a sequel; I don't think they'll be stupid enough to completely undermine themselves and ruin all the goodwill they've recently accumulated.
>Microsoft
>Windows Store exclusive
may as well start digging the grave right now
Broke: Relic shouldn't make AoE4 because of DoW3/CoH2
Woke: Relic shouldn't make AoE4 because they don't like conventional RTSs
Microsoft has always been behind the series.
Imagine
>pre order DLC
>DLC1
>DLC2
>faster units spam ability for $10
>Advanced book of magic $15
>bonus units $10
Imagine being this naive.
>Relic
Do we know what era it'll be set in yet? An AoE game covering the world wars could be cool as shit
>Microsoft has always been behind the series.
No. Ensemble Studios was behind the series. Microsoft bought them after AoE2, then shut them down and ran the IP into the ground with microtransaction-filled browser and mobile game.
to be honest something like CoH but with a medieval would be fucking cool, even if it's not AoE
It'll probably be the age of Industrial Revolution, maybe 19th century, it makes sense after the colonial era.
It would still be too similar in feeling to AoE3, minus the whole colonial flavor.
Guess who published AoE from the beginning? We all know Ensemble were the devs but Microsoft has been part of the franchise since day one.
>Sega knows how much hype Sonic Mania has generated, surely they won't do anything to botch the release!
Well that's not exactly true.
Most of the team left Ensemble Studios after AoE3 because they were so burnt out.
Microsoft didn't kill anything.
They just wanted to do something else after 10 years of making strategies.
Sega is in a league of its own when it comes to stupidity.
And this is Microsoft we're talking about. The same company that practically handed this gen to Sony all because of their own greed and stupidity.
KYS MS faggots.
>CoH2 patch actually launching in winter
I don't need any other RTS
don't forget
>win10 exclusive
>rts can only be resurrected if they made dumbed down casual games that miss the point of real time strategy
>Muh microsoft boogie man.
Has anyone played Spellforce 3?
There's a viking themed CoH clone.

It's kind of shitty and I would be pretty pissed to see AoE go in that direction.
don't care if aoe4 is good or bad. as long as stephen rippy composes the soundtrack.
RTS IS ALIVE AND WELL PLEBEIANS
This actually just released. I want to see how it is before I buy it. Been burned too many times.
I hope this doesn't go past World War 1.
Egyptians historically for the most part were black regard.
Go WE WUZ somewhere else you fucking dumb ass.
>YFW relic re-releases CoH under the guise of AOE effectively killing any remaining hope for the genre with major producers.
