Now that the dust has settled, anybody else think this game wasn't that bad at all? I'm playing on highest difficulty using stealth and it's pretty nice. I love the way the characters interact too. Coming from beating New Order, it was nice to see them all familiar with each other and whatnot. The new characters weren't too overbearing either, and the minorities weren't at all crazy or annoying like I heard people on Sup Forums say.
I think it's just about as good as the first game, if not better because of the gameplay changes.
Jason Bell
Step back from TNO
Easton Robinson
Not as good as TNO, but still pretty fucking great. Needed more level variety and the dual wield system was unnecessarily cumbersome.
Christian Wright
I like the new dual-wield because you have the option of using everything, but it was really confusing trying to fire sometimes because for me because left click fired the right gun and right click fired the left.
Hudson Powell
its a blast, my only issue with it is how much it drops the ball for its final level being so much of a let down. How do you follow up beasting through a fucking venus space station with just returning to the first level that the main villain isnt even on. They could of fixed it too by just having frau on there losing her absolute shit that BJ is still alive.
Gabriel Hill
Was I the only one who though BJ wasnt that likable in 1 but fucking loved the dude in 2. I dont know there felt like there was actually stuff going on with him this game and his relationships just felt more meaningful. I actually felt something during the wyatt attempted suicide scene and they had their heart to hear and then you have shit like BJ talling horton to fuck off for being a commie whilst chugging pure ehtanol.
I dont know he went from big buff dude #3098 to one of my favorite leads this year.
Hunter Torres
same garbage as TNO with even more obnoxious cutscenes series is dead as far as I'm concerned
Brandon Flores
In 1 he wasn't that established and was more of a John Doe, probably because they wanted to have him more relatable to his classic self early on? I liked him in 2 once he stopped talking about Caroline.
Thomas Reed
its soykino
Sebastian Miller
He did talk a tad bit too much about caroline, but i did genuinely feel bad for him when he brought up how he was going to be joining her soon.
James Turner
I did like opening her head up like a fucking pumpkin though. Much more satisfying than the Deathshead fight in TNO
Logan Ramirez
God Tier: Old Blood Great Tier: TNO Wyatt Path Restart your game tier: TNO Fergus path Skip Tier:TNC
Jason Bailey
InB4 I'm called a retard or soyboy People keep saying this is feminist pandering, but I'm like "A Nazi loses his shit over a Klansman's lack of ability to pronounce German language and not knowing about Hitler's birthplace. Then later, a German fat girl chokes a black xenophobic woman for calling her a nazi. Wouldn't this be the kind of thing SJWs would call out? Feels like something overlooked in entertainment." We live in a day and age where having a female protag or killing garbage human is deemed SJW pandering and characters being sexy or being realistic is considered sexist. What a time to be alive!
Colton Peterson
Wasn't really SJW at all. Sup Forumstards got triggered by seeing a character who's a commie being relevant at all, but even in the game BJ trashes him. It was as politically motivated as the first one.
Nathaniel Robinson
anyone that gets offended over this game for political reasons is a fucking retard, it makes very little reference to current events and even then that only goes as far as loosly making fun of kathy griffon and a really infamous article about richard spencer.
I'd understand if maybe they had general engel screaming make america great again whilst gassing jews, but theres nothing remotely close to that.
Aiden Nguyen
Much like Dishonored and Evil Within, Wolfenstein 2 is a good game, but inferior to it's predecessor. It seems to be a running theme with Bethesda games.
Aiden Parker
>get your "noo blackies in my game" thread deleted >make a Wolfenstein one instead
Hunter Turner
The first chunk of the game feels like a TNO sequel, and the rest feels like the Bethesda-mandated game they wanted to advertise. If you were to remove Fergus and Wyatt, you wouldn't even notice they contributed anything to the plot beyond the superweapon you get. America as the setting is also not nearly as interesting as Italy or Japan could've been, absolutely nothing interesting was happening in the US then to begin with, and there's nothing uniquely American about the setting either, since you're either in run-down buildings, Nazi transports, or yet another space base when you aren't in a scripted Americana sequence
Kayden Gutierrez
It's still decent, but doesn't literally nothing better than TNO. Worse story and writing, poorly balanced difficulty, ridiculously unstable performance, and shorter length.
The only thing I can think of that it improved upon is being able to dual-wield different weapons (and even then, the weapon wheel is really finicky and awkward on PC). Probably the most disappointed I've been in a game in a long time, since TNO is one of my favorite games of the gen.
Joshua Johnson
>God Tier: Old Blood Fuck off, faggot. TOB is definitely worse than TNC. I doubt you even played it.
Logan Scott
It fucking pains me how much Wyatt was wasted in this game.
Early on, it seems like he's going to assume a leadership role in the resistance after Caroline dies and he'll develop into a more confident fighter. But instead, they turn him into a walking LSD joke.
Camden Reyes
>America as the setting is also not nearly as interesting as Italy or Japan could've been It doesn't matter where the setting took place, it would have still been the samen steel and stone Nazi architecture. Not to mention that it wouldn't even make sense to be anywhere but America that BJ went after since he's the protagonist and he was an American soldier.
Jose Jackson
Shit with really shitty cringe jokes.
LOL DUDE ALIENS AND TOILETS AND WHITEY
Camden Sanchez
>it seems like he's going to assume a leadership role in the resistance after Caroline dies Dunno how you could even think that. If you played the first game, you already know he's too weak-minded to be a leader. The head injury he got made it even worse.
Alexander Watson
This, it's worse in every respect.
Gavin James
Wasn't the offense at this game for SJW related things primarily because of their marketing campaign and the weird VICE video?
Hunter Howard
Agreed.
>Too many cutscenes >Can't decide if it wants to be serious or silly >Dual-wielding continues to be generally unnecessary >Action is a step down from D44M >Abandons any pretense of historical accuracy (okay, that's just my pet peeve)
I dunno, I just revisited Quake 4 and while it's not great, I'm still having more fun with that than I did TNC.
This too! This is a game about liberating America from Nazi invaders. You should have fucking red, white, and blue pumping through your veins at all time. I should be fighting in purple mountain's majesty and amber waves of grain, not in the same generic industrial hallways that could be pretty much fucking anywhere. Let me have a bitchin' train heist on horseback in texas, revive the spirit of '76 in Philly, have some fun with the good ol' boys down south, fucking give me SOME bits of Americana to connect with. Half the time I kept playing that MMX4 "WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOR" clip over and over in my head because honestly the whole struggle felt pointless. Like you have to provide more than just a bad guy to fight against, you have to give a cause worth fighting for. Somehow even Halo understood this, how the hell did TNC fuck it up so badly?
David Mitchell
Yeah... but there was backlash since the game was even announced.
Adrian Hernandez
it was made by anti-white cucks
Landon Perez
Gameplay was pretty fun Story was meh Level variety was bad Final level was a let down There were only 4 hrs of gameplay and 4 hours of cutscenes
It's entirely a step back from TNO.
Ethan Jenkins
Yeah but they could have just ignored it instead of exploiting it to try and sell their game. I think the general public didn't see it as "fuck nazis" they saw it as "hahahaha we're totally exploiting this public moral panic for our own personal gain!"
I feel like this is b8, but the fact that apparently the devs weren't Europeans is honestly part of the problem. Then again, Japan made Metal Wolf Chaos, which is what TNC should have been.
Aiden Baker
To be fair, it was probably just some retarded SJW twitter intern and not a whole markteting team.
Jonathan Barnes
Yeah nah, still not interested.
Joseph Turner
>come into a thread discussing a game to say you're not interested Then scroll past it, retard.
Isaac Martin
>Discussion about a game that's been out awhile and whether it was good or bad. >Uninterested isn't a valid position.
You'd go far in corporate marketing, so long as someone else actually does your work for you.
Grayson Fisher
Nah, Bethesda has a pretty notoriously awful marketing team, Pete Hines is the guy I think is in charge?
Nolan Taylor
>Tag line for ad campaign was literally "Make America Nazi Free Again" and "Not My President" Yeah, no.
Benjamin Mitchell
>not interested is a position when discussing whether a game was good or bad
Hunter Barnes
>Produce a game and fail to advertise/make it appealing enough to encourage people to buy it. >Not a bad game quality.
Christian Gutierrez
There are plenty of good games that got shit advertising or none at all. Indie games are a good example of this. WF's not amazing, but its marketing was bad.
Samuel Gonzalez
>Obnoxious advertising. >Game doesn't look interesting to give it a try regardless.
Yeah, still going with nah.
Jack Butler
>people still upset about "Make America Nazi-free again" >When the game is about killing Nazis in America Really activates the synapses
Christian Jackson
Dunno what makes you think I'm telling you or anyone ITT to try the game. Was literally just a thread to see the opinions of people who've played it ALREADY since I'm in the middle of playing through it now.
Gabriel Johnson
>leftists (like the game designers) call anyone left of lenin a nazi
Really noggins the joggin.
Jace Campbell
Was Wolfenstien 2009 any good?
Camden Adams
>Now that the dust has settled This is too obvious.
Juan Nguyen
>Complains about killing literal Nazis Woah
Adam Morgan
i wanna know this too. does it play like the new order and colossus?
Blake Price
Lol hacker central with only blacks with afros on the computers? Come on. You can't say this game wasn't political. That fat german getting fucked by that black you carry around. This game's target market was progressive college kids, you have to acknowledge that.
William Turner
yes goyim nazism is bad XDD
Jordan Jackson
2009 is a much better game than TNC. It plays a lot like Singularity if you ever played that.
Anthony Brooks
fuck off
Chase Foster
Glad we cleared that up Last (You)
Luke Phillips
Good job telling him what trolls you, that definitely will get him to stop.
Jack Sanders
My issues with it was that it was cheap and exploitative, plus the game had pretty much no real americana, like I was talking about in Were it not for getting confused with Sup Forumsacks and stormfags others would probably say similar things.
Chase King
You make a good point. I didn't play through the entire game, and I'm just here to view opinions, but if I don't post more brainlet Wojacks my mother will beat me like the red-headed step child she wishes she never had. You don't deserve this.
Cameron Price
>no real americana Did you expect a country conquered by the Nazis to maintain its culture or something?
Charles Davis
It's worse than TNO simply because they could've improved gameplay and make it an amazing shooter but they left it as is and shoved in more unfunny satire instead. It was very disappointing to see devs going completely wrong direction with a franchise that has a lot of potential.
Finished it on death incarnate, the only somewhat difficult part is the court level.
Samuel Gomez
>Nazis will assimilate and destroy all cultures. >Ku Klux Klan still exists.
William Perez
Coming from playing NC immediately after finishing NO, I feel like the gameplay was improved in terms of the perk system and gunplay, but it was pretty downgraded in terms of dialogue and tone. The newer characters made it too uppity, although I guess it makes sense if you think about them just trying to avoid losing morale and whatnot.
Jackson Thompson
Yeah they did slightly improve shooting and perks system, but there is still 4 weapons and 4 enemy types, there is still 50/50 gameplay to cutscene ratio, stealth is still shit (but at least they didn't force it this time around), levels are still pretty but boring overdecorated corridors, AI is still retarded as fuck, the only thing they could come up with in terms of difficulty is "you just die faster".
Carson Hernandez
>stealth is still shit >4 weapons Don't have the game open not, but I think there's actually 6. I do feel like the machine pistol was wasted potential because the silencer on it is basically inferior to just using a silenced pistol. As for the stealth, I've been enjoying it now that I got the higher level perk stuff, but it was a pain in the ass earlier on.
Gabriel Cooper
I meant like geographic Americana, like the rich American landscape that the pioneers fell in love with. Also brings up a good point. As someone who knows his history about that period, the Klan absolutely would not be tolerated by the Nazis. Realistically, they should have been replaced by the more nazi-friendly Silver Legion, but Pelly and the Legion were "literally who" even back in their own time, too.
Mason Bell
>literal Nazis >1945+72 You can fuck off with the ethnonationalist larpers, pantyfa. Nobody likes you commie faggots either.
Michael Phillips
It had its flaws, but they should have stuck with that continuity over Nu-Wolf.
Landon Miller
I'm pretty sure he was talking about in the game and not in 2017.
Jeremiah Garcia
I thought it was pretty entertaining and the gameplay was just as enjoyable as TNO and TOB but like the previous games, the story and characters are where it falls apart. I don't mind the commie and anti-Nazi shit because it's portrayed in such a way that it makes a Tarantino movie look tame. It's so over the top and ridiculous it's a wonder why anyone would actually ever take it seriously. That said, they kinda just waste the alt-history setting and never do anything really particularly interesting with it and most of the focus is on BJ who is so generic and bland he might as well just not even speak and be a faceless protag.
Nicholas Garcia
Fuck off op. It's a garbage game.
Hudson Russell
Way shorter than I would have liked, and it's so abrupt. I just said there thinking "that's it?" although there are those extra episodes, it's obviously not the same. Great gamplay though, really enjoyable FPS.
Jack Martin
Was a poor response in context to the preceding post then.
Nicholas Lopez
I wish it got multiplayer like DOOM did. I enjoyed the gunplay more than Doom 4 and CoD.
Aiden Parker
How is this any different from people on the right calling everyone marxists, commies etc which they've been doing for ages?
Logan White
You actually made up the second one.
Carson Butler
>reee wh*te people accept your genocide no
Jacob Wilson
Only fair, considering the left has called everyone they didn't like Literally Hitler since the days of McCarthy, who was right by the way.
Christopher Williams
like anyone here played it
Alexander Nelson
Why bother with the poor man's Doom?
Liam Carter
There are objective flaws to this game. One of them being that the pacing of gunplay vs. storytelling feels really janky this time in that they decided to really favor cutscenes now.
It almost feels like when they have good sequences occuring it just stops and goes into a cutscene.
It does not help that some of the levels this time feel really weak what with Venus being kinda a cheaper version of Mars.
Subjectively the story this time feels like the devs pulled a "TO BE CONTINUED BUY OUR TRILOGY PLZ" bullshit. I will say that at least TNO has a better story than bloody DXMD which was the saddest sack of shit ever.
In the first game, they established deathshead nicely and had MULTIPLE villains along the way and also how we met Frau. This time we get Hitler and BJ's father and THATS IT. Seriously it is just seriously dissapointing and I would say that because they focused on cutscenes rather than walkathon cutscenes did not help imo (I personally liked the consecration camp and train scenes and this one just doesn't have any).
Also the side quest blows ass. It does help bring the good gunplay on stage but due to dev limitations they had to reuse levels which imo does not work.
Kayden Hughes
i want to get into first person action games what's a list of the essentials of games that aged well

Nao-nazis are the most anally devastated life-forms on this planet, 72 years later and the triggering is still alive.
John Watson
*nu-nazis
Austin White
They deserve it, but marxists are somehow even more retarded.
Daniel White
Yeah, "neo-nazis" was more the early '60s - early '90s phase, from George Lincoln Rockwell, to the Illinois Nazis, and ending with the Skinheads.
Carson Rivera
Close, it was "Not My America", used by Antifa.
Christian Hill
>I'm playing on highest difficulty using stealth You can't play the highest difficulty otherwise
Benjamin Anderson
soykino
Jordan King
>Antifa suddenly loves their country
Connor Martinez
You can do it without stealth, it's just that it requires much more cover-shooting and camping. Also gotta listen very carefully for footsteps so you don't get flanked.
Jayden Lewis
I didn't hate it, but is an obvious middle-entry of a trilogy that doesn't exist yet.
