What the fuck is up with combat in this game?
I'm playing a paladin, and I can't hit fucking shit.
Every enemy dodges my attacks 24/7. I can never, ever, ever score one fucking hit.

I played a Paladin in NWN1 and I never had this fucking problem.

I don't know what you mean, I could hit most things just fine after the first few hours.
How far are you into it?

My main issue with the combat, though, is that cleave doesn't add in extra animations like in NWN.
It makes it very difficult to know who I hit or sometimes if I did at all.

Game is a poorly optimized piece of shit.
But trudge through it and play Mask Of The Betrayer. That shit is dope as fuck.

I'm helping the city watch, soon after arriving to Neverwinter, after attacking the warehouse.
The warehouse was a fucking pain in the ass, considering everyone there is a fucking rogue that attacks a million times per turn with stealth attacks, and you're expected to fight like 50 of them at the same time.
I don't have cleave though I'm sure I should get it, no matter what this paladin memeguide says.

Now I'm supposed to help some spy, but again, rogue enemies.
I don't understand what goes through the mind of developers sometimes.

I've been trying to do so.
This is the third time I try to get through the OC. Each time I failed at this exact same spot.

I know what you mean, had this same feeling. Also this , how fucking lazy can you get?

I just feel like NWN1 was so much better.
Even the atmosphere was better. Sure it looks like shit but for some reason it's way more immersive. NWN2 is just so cartoony in all senses, from design to animations.

>The warehouse was a fucking pain in the ass
Yeah, it is a pain in the ass.
Have you searched all the vendors for better weapons?
I've never played a pally, but surely that bloke at the temple of Tyr who sends you to the crypt would have something specifically for you.

Grab the sorcerer chick and blast the fuck out of those goons.
I'm like 90% sure that the reason she exists is so you can do that.
Go into the like AI settings for Elannee is that how it's spelled? and make sure she polymorphs and set up her spells.
Boosts are often better than direct damage because they'l up -your- direct damage.

>I'm sure I should get it
Yes, you should.
An extra attack on every death is fucking excellent.
Most of those guides tend to be based around playing in a party with IRL people who'll all do their thing well.
You're the PC, you have to be OP.

>how fucking lazy can you get?
From what I hear, it was a mix of complaints from NWN about Great Cleave taking forever when you'd wipe out whole groups from one successful attack turning into heaps along with the fact that it would take longer in the more demanding game.
It is fucking lazy, but I can understand why they've done it.

Skip the OC. It's garbage.
Just start a new MOTB character and try to make a build that isn't retarded.
And even if you screw that up your party is strong enough to carry you.
Prepare for for some crazy shit.

But I want to understand the story.

I have that sword now, the one Neeshka loots, I hope it's good.
I don't know what to specialize in though, longswords or greatswords. I'm sure that in the end I'll have all that shit.
I should get cleave, true. Divine might is great, thouhg.

>the one Neeshka loots
I honestly can't remember it.
When I was where you are on my last playthrough, I was using a loot randomiser that's fucking dreadful
Go greatswords, but you don't have to specialize if you don't want to.
Having options is always better.
Also feel free to just use the console to give yourself Cleave for free.

They're two completely separate stories.
MOTB begins with you being a hero of some sorts, but not remembering much.
It's the only way.

They are?
You fucking sure?

>loot randomiser
jesus how horrifying dude

I don't know, I just hope it gets better as I become more and more OP.

>jesus how horrifying dude
I thought anything would be better than static loot, because I fucking hate static loot, but it's so bad.
Random words and effects could be good, if done well, but it really isn't.
You'll get an item called "[class]'s [something] of [something]", but it's effects won't be related at all.
Getting a million shitty items is somehow worse than every item being exactly the same every playthrough.

I can understand having certain things be the same, like getting Paladin/Cleric specific things at a temple every time, but getting the exact same things from drops and chests is, in my opinion, the worst thing a dev can do.

Not to mention that NWN1 has a ton of modules, while NWN2 has almost none.

ADwR is great

>I'm playing a paladin
See, that's where you fucked up. Caster or bust. It's fucking dnd 3rd, what were you thinking?

>I just feel like NWN1 was so much better
You have a shit taste. NWN 2 is much closer to actual DnD. NWN 1 is a standard Bioware casualfest with shitty writing and combat.

>caster
sorry I don't play FAGGOT classes

Yes, entirely separate stories.
The only thing that links them is your imported character.

Why is that, exactly?
It seemed to me like NWN2's tools were much more powerful.

>buys obsidian game
>surprised its shit

At least bioware did great content with story/plot and the modules in its diamond edition, sure you didn't grow up with black isle classics
