We never see what happens to the world when you choose to abandon your position as god.

Isn't that the end of the first game though? It only really ends when you use godsbane on yourself and magically end up back in Cassardis with your waifu.

A world without God. There's nobody to continue the Eternal Cycle now. The world has never been without a God, so what will happen now? What happens to the Pawns, who's sole job was to aid the Arisen in becoming the new God?

That's your Pawn. You kill yourself and your Pawn takes over your corpse and thereby gains free will.

The eternal rebirth or whatever. Does it even matter?

All I want is new and improved classes and movesets, and to jack off to my custom waifus.

Wait what? Was this explained anywhere?

What was the mmo about?

>Another similar world
>The senechal is dead, no arisen took his place
>World didn't turn dark for whatever reason
>Dragon reigns over the land
>People are turning to pawns, since the will of their god isn't driving them
And then you still become the arisen somehow, I dunno.

Or maybe just the same place but like 3000 years earlier, much bigger world. Main city would be were you fight Grigori.

Killing fantasy creatures.

They lose their memories, gain yours, and physically transform into their master.
Loliwitch over time slowly turns into her master (the witch tells you this) and the Dragonforged's pawn turns into his master (go there post game, he just thinks he is him).

>another dragon came about and stole your waifu

>are you mean enough to get her back?

Also, if Quina, Mercedes, or Selene is your beloved they will notice that someone else has become you.
>"You're not... your face is his/hers but you're not... No, but he's/she's here now. Still, I... I'm sure of it."
>"It is you...Isn't it? Of course it is. I'm sorry. You just seemed...changed. But I suppose it isn't you who's different. It's everything else, and you who changed it..."
>You're... like me. Aren't you? As my grandmother gave me life, he/she gave you yours... They gave us death, and with it true life... This is the world he/she wanted for us

the game we were originally planned to get

From what little I was able to gather through moonrunes and garbled Google Translate shit when playing it over a year and a half ago

>the humans live peacefully under the guidance of the White Dragon
>the Gold Dragon enters the world and starts to wage war upon humanity
>the White Dragon sets out to fight the Gold Dragon
>the White Dragon seems to win and kill the other dragon, but is near death himself
>since he won't be able to protect humanity, he makes Arisen that can defend their people for him
>you're a newly Arisen that's tasked with roaming the countryside, slaying monsters and defending villages
>occasionally the order the Arisen have in the city will call upon you to do special tasks, mostly with investigating weird bullshit
>during your investigations you discover the Gold Dragon didn't actually die and is seeping corrupting alchemy across the world that's sprouting up in these mysterious golden tombs
>monsters that are touched by the alchemy become more powerful and tainted (it's also the stuff that the Alchemist vocation uses, I guess)

I fucking forget what happens after that. It's actually a really fun game and I really resent that there's not a western version. It plays exactly like a DD MMO should, and even makes some improvements upon the basic gameplay of the original (climbing has more to it, enemies are more complex and varied, certain vocations have additional features, etc.). My only real gripe is that larger enemies can be huge damage sponges if you're adventuring with just your pawns, but it's much better with a party of actual players.

>the game we were originally planned to get
I mean it sounds sick and all but very much undoable even today

A dragon steals your heart
AGAIN

Oh, yeah, also the White Dragon's fluffy as fuck.

It's not important to the plot but it's rad.

Is it worth getting a VPN for and installing badly done fan-translations for?

I'd say so, yeah. It's a pretty fun game to play, even if you approach it as a single-player thing. It's actually not too hard to set up, either. There will be some issues because of the nature of the translation, but that's how it is.

This is the guide I used to download it back when I played it. The VPN that's linked in it, SoftEther, is really easy to use and works perfectly. The rest of the guide's probably outdated, especially the English patch linked, so it might be better to use this one:

That subreddit also probably has the most recent English patches. You'll need to replace the English patch every single time the game updates, too, because the way it downloads breaks the patch. I forget if you can use the patch from the last update or if you need to wait for the new patch to come out after every update.

>What the fuck would a sequel even be about?
Why don't you take a look at Dragon's Dogma online since it's the sequel

the fan translation doesn't even translate everything

Fan translation just translates the quest objectives so that you can play. Also yeah its worth it.

>Dragon's Dogma online since it's the sequel

It could be about anything DD verse is essentially a multiverse connected through the rift so another game could take place in one of the different universes, also DDO exist btw and the plot has nothing to do with the original game.

riding a hippogriff chariot to the moon in order to find orlando's lost wits

White Dragon has ruled humans until the king of the humans woulnd't use alchemy to make himself into a dragon to rebel against yoke of the dragon.
He and his alchemists wage war all over the world and the white dragon make arisens en-mass.
Then the battle between dragons starts, the gold dragon defeated and escapes with his floating capital to the netherrealm, while the white dragon is mortally wounded, the humanity holding only the temple-city with the dragon, the rest of the world is dead with alchemy fallout and is being overrun with the orc invasion.
If you liked the original, you'd like it too. But the game is suffering from cross platforming with ps3. Like there is no shadows or face animations.
Also there is changes in gameplay mainly it dumbed down in the debuff aspect where pawns mostly useless in the fights, except sorcs.

How so? Demon's Souls already did the concurrent worlds thing with being able to see other phantoms. Obviously that's not very complex, but the idea is there.

Seriously? Did you never beat the game? It's incredibly explicit.
