PC fag here. I'd quite like a console actually. Can't decide between xbox and PS4 though.
But it's just not a good investment if you buy a new 3DS, xbox or Playstation, you're gonna drop over 400€ on the console and two-ish games. For me (and I think for everyone) there are like 2 or 3 "oh my god, I want to play that so bad" games and a whole bunch of "yeah, I'd play that, sure" titles. It's just so expensive.

Meanwhile on Steam I'm sitting on 1600 games, with tons of absolutely great titles, and thanks to emulation most of the great titles from consoles of the past.

Personally I always say: Lag one gen behind. wait till you can get a used console that can play pirated copies for like 50 bucks from someone, enjoy the whole library of games at a fraction of the price.

Never bothered with Plus on PS3 but holy shit is this crap annoying for me as a PS4 user.

I do actually play or have played most of my games. There's the occasional humble stuff and such that I've added but not really touched, but I'm not really in the habit of buying a game and then not playing it.

Because not everyone thinks like you. Console manufacturers offer a deal and you can either accept it or don't. The problem of these threads is making logical arguments about subjective tastes.

A year of xbl gold or psplus is nothing for anyone who has income. This is the price of plug and play console multiplayer. If you can do it cheaper and have the time for it, then good for you. The only people who can't let this go are people without income or with some serious issues where they are afraid someone may think bad about them because they weren't "smart" enough to get the cheapest deal.

I have PC and PS4/PS3/PS2/Vita/PSP/ Also xbox 360 and wii.
Steam is good for me for indie games or cheap multiplatform.
Playstation plus give me 6 games in mounth.
Now these games are most often indie or something weird, but i have MGS V, Far Cry's, Just Cause 3 and many playstation exclusives for 40$ in year(i buy games and subscription at a discount.
I play multiplayer and still would have paid, and since I have a cloud and games.

No we just can't comprehend that you guys willingly and are happy to spend money for online when it should be free

Micrsoft got away with it because they got in early and most players had never experienced online play on a console before so they just accepted it. Then they cocked up big with the Xbone launch allowing Sony to sneak paid online through during the hysteria. Nintendo got away with it because the other two were already doing it.
