>You die in the game but the game continues
How nuts is that? This game is gunna be amazing. Even if the gameplay is shit the lore and story alone is enough for me to want to play it anyway.

prey did it first
>what is soul reaver
neverbegameover
Great. So excited to play it in 2020
>lore and story
yeah can't wait to see whatever hideo "random cool shit i saw in a movie once" kojima cooks up next
Prey and Soul Reaver dont count because Kojima drones never played them
What about Automata?
i'm honestly more interested in shadow of the colossus remake than this, i don't get why people get excited for another 30 hour cutscenes game were not even the gameplay was shown yet
B-b-b-ut Kojima is a genius !??
I played Metal Gear and LoK when you were in your dad's balls
And also was a joke minigame.
This look a bit more serious.
>you die in the game and you die in rea life
How nuts would that be? That game would be amazing
How is that relevant grandpa
or because prey is shit
>remembering soul reaver 20 years later
How does it work in Soul Reaver?
What's so innovative about respawns? Even the recent Shadows of Lootboxes had that.
>2 years
>still no gameplay
the plot and writing is going to be shit since it's Kojimbles so I'm baffled that they still haven't showed the one thing he's good at
When you die your body dissolves end you end up in the same place but in spectral realm.
The world changes around you, no physical laws apply, soul eating ghosts wander around. And when you gather enough strength you can reconstruct your body and go back into material realm.
You mean like Chrono Trigger already did over 20 years ago?
"Ah, yes Master Kojima, shit right into my mouth!"
you forgot to mention that if you die in the spectral realm the elder god brings you back to the beginning with a special cutscene
Thanks
Yes, and you also can let go of your body willingly to get somewhere you can't in the material realm.
This sounds like Kojima's exact idea.
That's because it is.
HACKjima
I think the idea here is implementing this as a narrative mechanic to enable branching paths.
>dying at certain spots triggers a different timeline
>good ending is never dying
>true ending involves dying at specific times and places
