MGSV:TPP

Why does everyone shit on this game? The story may be retarded but MGS has always had awful stories and presentation. The gameplay is the best I've ever played. It's incredibly refined and allows you to approach missions in any way you want with very little restrictions. It's incredible. It's a GAME first and a cinematic experience second. It's what a GAME should be.

After you fulton 1500 people it gets pretty old my dude

Because the story is shit for a MGS game, that's about it.

>MGS
>awful presentation

You don't know what you are talking about

Most people on here are just too plebian to see MGSV for what is really is, a great fucking game.

All of the games are super cringy and have the writing level of a 14 year old. There's a ton of repetition in each line and batters obvious stuff over the players head, effectively treating them like retards. There's no such thing as subtlety in MGS.

It wasn't as good as you would have expected. "7/10 it's okay" is not enough for a game called Metal Gear Solid, made by a man named Hideo Kojima.

MGS doesn't take itself very seriously, that's the point of the series and why it is loved even today.

There's a difference between being self-aware and being written poorly. Regrettably MGS is both.

>mgs doesnt take itself very seriously
Thats why V sucked. It was too super serious business this time.

Dude i put like 300 hours into this game because it's fucking fun as fuck. Stop caring about what other people think about the videos games that you play. Unless your mom or your girl is calling you a fucking gross loser for playing a certain game who gives a shit.

This game is the definition of nu fun

Mission 14

>All of the games are super cringy and have the writing level of a 14 year old

You obviously haven't played the first 3 entry. Super cringy writing have begun with 4. First 3 entry is the absolute best that has been made in matter of writing in a video game... Just tell me even only one game that does as good.

All open world games are "fun" but MGS 5 at least was the most amount of "fun" you can possibly have while playing an open world game.

It's like breath of the wild. You can do pretty much whatever you want whenever you want how ever you want to do it. Now why in the fuck would anyone want to do something like that in a video game.

>can only bloom on the battlefield
>not edgy

No one I've talked to has any problems with the core gameplay, which is excellent.

Basically everyone's problem is just not enough content. It's such an excellent game it left me disappointed with how little there was. There are too many "filler" missions, there are no large indoor installations to sneak around in (or really buildings of almost any kind), the story is pretty much non-existant, etc.

If it had a third chapter with one more area, maybe an urban area in eastern europe or something and more actual boss fights then it would be 10/10.

>log back in after a year and a half
>people have been stealing my FOB shit 3 to 4 times every month since I've been gone and my platforms deleveled to 60 - 70
I honestly didn't know people still played this game.

Where did I said it's not edgy ?

Indoor missions are overrated. Sneaking through facilities was much better. Each mission is like a miniature Shadow Moses, minus the awful interiors. If you want to sneak around inside go play the other games.

2000 people are playing right now

>MGS has always had awful stories and presentation

>After you fulton 1500 people it gets pretty old my dude
This. The most efficient way to play the game is also the most boring, by far. The game doesn't really give you an incentive to use its huge toolbox. If you aren't rocking the tranq gun/tranq sniper and bringing along DDog or Quiet, you're objectively playing the game less efficiently than you could be. Which means players like me who try to be efficient have a less enjoyable time. Plus, the story being uninteresting in an MGS game is a cardinal fucking sin.

Because it was a failed experiment for open-world stealth. Go play Ground Zeroes and you'll see why V sucks. Multiple GZ sized environments would have made the game better.

Also a ton of other stuff. For example the R&D crap. It's been a while since I played the game but seriously fuck it.

nah, speedrunners also use the use and the robot because there are missions where you have to run around a lot to complete objectives. the shitty one where you have to blow up like 8 tanks in the desert come to mind.

Have you guys played the no-weapon missions? They are arguably more fun. Not defending the game, but it's just strange how the weapon system is.

If it only had level design.

LET IT GO OP!!!!!!!!!

The game is extremely grindy, you have to visit every major place a lot of times and pretty much no difference how to approach the missions. The sandbox and the checkpoint system actually hurts the game because it discourages trying out different things. The base building / gathering parts of the game extremely annoying and takes up a lot of time.

The structure of the missions are maybe interesting for the first time but feel absolutely uneccessary when you actually know what to do. Almost every mission is just about running to the endpoint asap and destroying the target.

TW1-3 had better writing

It didn't have the first bit of MGS charme about it. It had no soul, the gameplay was good but everything else, meh. Kojima wasn't feeling it anymore with this one, he just wanted it to be over, the circumstances with Konami were a big factor too. Maybe it's just because it's unfinished. Doesn't really matter, it is what it is.

>The story may be retarded but MGS has always had awful stories and presentation.
Why do retards always say this like this is supposed to help their side?

>ground zeroes had content that was NOT in 5

I would've liked the game more if you were actually Big Boss and the game was not another retread of MGS2's anyone can be a bad ass mercenary, even YOU THE PLAYER! Also the story never concluded in any meaningful way, too many loose ends.
