The point of the entire game is the Venom is de facto big boss, having taken on his experience and mantle. He has his entire experience in battle. It's one of the most pointless "who would win?" arguments because there's almost nothing different to compare.

Venom had to become what he is through adapting a whole new life as hid own. While he is extremely talented and good, he also has only been doing it for so long. The only proper training he received was through Big Boss while he was a Medic. However, if he were to remember anything of BB's mannerisms, he could potentially have the leg up, as he could plan for and anticipate BB's styles and combative strategies because he was so close to him for so long.

Big Boss, on the other hand, has had way, way more experience and time to hone his set of skills and solidify his prowess. Not only this, but he was trained by The Boss directly and more than likely has talent beyond Venom's current capable knowledge. This is the only unpredictable aspect to BB against Venom that he could use against him and use to his advantage.

Assuming they both have equal technology otherwise, I might just have to give it to BB. Dude is a lot more aggressive and ruthless than softie, good-guy Venom. I love Venom's character but BB would be able to cut just enough corners to outwit and submit Venom.
