I was thinking more that Mega Man's AI would be overloaded with sheer "what the fuck" and not function well or shut down, but that's actually a good idea too.

This was only for the english translation, but really it makes sense. Dr. Light is exactly the kind of person who would make a robot that could do whatever it wanted.

Plus Wily creating the predecessor to the Maverick/Sigma virus just to ghost-spite Dr Light, which lead to the Maverick Wars, which led to Earth getting fucked up at the end of X5, with led to the elf wars, all of which killed off the majority of the population.

This is all I can find concerning that.
Apparently, the same team that made MM7FC and MM8FC were going to make MMVFC and finished like 2 stages but dropped the project a while back.
