What would happen next after Nier Automata? Will it be a robotic world with Pascal as their leader?
I know about the timeline but I want some speculation.

Something set another impossibly long time into the future completely removed from androids and machines hopefully. Not that I disliked that stuff, but making a direct sequel would be a mistake I think. I think Nier as a series would work best if it continued being self-contained stories that just so happen to take place in the same world with some returning characters and references to previous games showing up here and there.

That being said though, I have no idea what they could possibly do with a sequel if they do choose to have it set after Automata, but I felt the same way about the first game too. It'll be nuts whatever it ends up being, assuming Taro is still involved and SE doesn't fuck it up by meddling with it by forcing him to go with the "safe" route to appeal to general audiences or some shit.

Ending D has the most potential for a game that has nothing to do with Automata

It's really, really hard to guess.
Even though Taro doesn't usually do that, I wish there could be a more direct sequel to Automata. Not with 2B and 9S (LEAVE THEM ALONE), but same general setting. And possibly some recurring characters (or previous/next models of them). There's a shit ton of side material and it's a really cool setting I think. It could be a few hundreds years before or after Automata. Or a few thousands at worse. But not too many thousands. Just a few thousands. And the setting would be recognizable.
This is probably largely up to Squeenix. If it were up to Taro it would be some crazy shit 100000 big bangs later. They're probably debating this with him. But Taro has this weird attitude of "sure I'll do anything" but then apparently isn't interested in any proposals. Maybe I'm getting this wrong. It's not even certain the sequel will be directed by him.

A huge futuristic android metropolis would be an interesting change from the bleak, desolated environments. Maybe Pascal's village could be at the hearth of it. Still preserved as is. Maybe the tree is magical or whatever.
Supposedly there's a huge android city on the other side of the Earth. The one where it's permanently night. The Earth is tidally locked. Not sure what side material that's from.

Oh yeah the plants would die. And so the wildlife would too. I doubt anything would be able to evolve to survive this. Apart from little fuming funnel things they found at the bottom of the ocean, all life on Earth ultimately depends on the sun for energy. So there would have to be something new at the bottom of the food chain for anything else to survive.
The androids wouldn't care though. Maybe there could be machine wildlife.
The Earth's atmosphere would equalize the temperatures somewhat, but it would probably still be frozen I think. Not a nice place.
