Best games ever.

Okey

why garett wear tap dancing shoes!

What you wish to be Thief 3?

For a challenge.

Hammerites did nothing wrong

Haven't you ever tried to walk around a house without waking anyone up? Everything's louder when you're trying to not be heard.

I never did that and my lawyer will back me up!

These guys won't let me, sorry.

Don't be a pussy.

Fuck you Garret I just fucking played 2 today the fuck do you want out of me?

>Inb4 everything you have

I have played them. I skipped the shitty monster levels in Thief 1 though, fucking trash.

You're trash.

How?

I started to, but I got to Bonehoard and thought "Nah, fuck this."

Great game, but the dungeon levels are awful.

i didnt knew there was spider enemies in thief, thanks for poointing that out, dropping the game right now

How is like to be such a pussy?

Finished Thief 1 two days ago and it was fun. Now I'm on Bank mission in sequel and find it annoying. Fuck those tiles and fuck those cameras. Police station was better.

Of course, they are good guys after all

i have aracnophobia, i cant control myself, its some sort of disease that affects me and theres no cure, i am sorry

I dropped Thief 1 when I shot 10 arrows into a guard's head and he didn't die. I didn't give Thief 2 a chance because it looked like more of the same. Is Deadly Shadows any different?

I think many games including this one have a no spider mod. Just search for it the game is to good not to play when you could mod them out.

>when your name is Garrett and no one in the thread knows how to spell your name

Stealth game man... One hit over his head with a black jack knocks them out for the rest of the level but only if you sneak. The only levels you don't really need to sneak on are the undead levels.

You weren't actually hitting him int he head, then.

>10 arrows into a guard's head and he didn't die
That's just shit aim user.

>Thief
>shooting anyone
Even if you're going to be doing that, it's a one shot kill if they aren't alerted.

But I did.

I counted 10 blood spurts coming from his head, the first shot or two were definitely when in stealth

fuck no

I guess you didn't draw the bow all the way back then.

...

So where did all the women in 2 come from?

What a fuckin pussy, so you played like 4 levels of Thief 1?

there's a button press combination that people can do to skip levels.

2 or 1?

Truart hired everyone he could get. Mostly from the ranks of criminals. Karras accepted every pious follower of the Builder regardless of gender unlike the Order of The Hammer. I don't know about Lady Rumford's guards. Maybe she had her own PMC.

armored chicks are my fetish

>Shalebridge Cradle
>Museum
>Sneaking through the City between missions

Any love for Deadly Shadows?

first 1 then 2 if it's your first time
if not, 2 and play fan missions

2 was made for brainlets like you

Mate, everyone knows that Thief 1 sucks is because the supernatural bullshit.

ZOMBIS BAD REDIT TOLD ME

Get fucked nigger.

>name the game Thief
>play as a thief
>weak as a thief
>thefing is your thing

I liked it. It needs its patch just the other games but I still found it fun. The idea of a central City hub where you can just freeform steal between missions is great, but they just haven't been able to quite pull it off yet between DS or Thief 4.

I fucking loved it.

I haven't installed it yet

So how is robbing tombs not thieving?

Go play Skyrim.

I have the games but have yet to play them.

Go play tomb raider instead. Also, dead people don't belong shit, it's just scavaging

>dead people don't belong shit
The guy who called you a brainlet is right.

>Thief 1 and 2 wars

How a person who is dead can have something? No wonder they get raped and don't react.

And i'm not talking about laws or moral here.

Why did Thief 1 have much more complex, multilayered levels compared to Thief 2? Compare them level-by-level:
>Manor/Running Interference
Manor is bigger, has several points of entry and secrets. RI has one point of entry and two floors with 1 hallway
>Prison/Shipping
Prison has several stages and a great sense of vertical progression. Shipping is flat and has you running circles to open the warehouses. And a tiny pirate ship kek.
>Bonehoard/Framed
Both great levels, but Bonehoard is absolutely gigantic compared to claustrophobic police station. At least this time T2 gives you several points of entry, including pointless dungeon
>Assassins/Ambush
Both levels are shitty, but Assassins becomes an actual good level after the dumb part is over.
>Guild/Eavesdropping
Guild, again, has a sense of vertical progression as you duck in and out of secret tunnels. Eavesdropping has one pathetic chapel full of metal, fuck metal tiles
>Sword/Bank
Anything would look pathetic placed next to Sword
>Cathedral/Blackmail
Blackmail is so forgettable I had to google it. Another boring ass mansion with 2 (1 viable really) points of entry
>Towers/Courier-Trail
Towers isn't complicated, but its creative and visually interesting. Courier is yet another gay ass dicksucking trailing mission
>Lost City/Party
Party is the only time T2 comes ahead and only because it borrows T1 formula of hving a level with vertical progression
>Song/Cargo-Kidnap
Giant opera house vs fuccboi cave. Kidnap is just a Lost City map with less features.
>Undercover-Bedfellows/Joint-Masks
Undercover expands the level tenfold while T2 forces you to play the same fucking level twice, lel
>Maw/Soulforge
Maw is bigger and doesn't have you run around doing Minecraft shit

Thief 2 didn't even have an atmospheric spooky level like Return to Cathedral so there's no comparison

Garret is taking things that don't belong to him. He is stealing. Even if you want to complain about how the dead are dead so they don't own it, their angry spirits tend to guard their treasures so they technically still own them.

I thought Thief 1 had Garret act better, too. Some aspects of Garret in Thief 2 just seemed weird. He seemed to care too much about people he didn't know, like Viktoria and that one guy stuck int he freezer. But in the first game actual associates of his die in front of him and he makes snarky remarks at them while it happens.

>name the game Thief 2
>have only 2 missions with loot requirements
>most missions are about saving the world and helping your dryad waifu who took your eye in the previous game

Just haven't played the newest one.

>technically
Technically you lose your virginity when your dick touched yours mom's vagina when she was givining birth to you. Technically means fucking nothing. Also when you kill a pig to get his meat or a apple from a tree, it isn't stealing. Stealing is just from people who would miss the thing you stole. Dead people don't miss shit.

Still haven't played it

>Dead people don't miss shit.
Tell that to the angry spirits who guard their gold.

What are you waiting?

>Dead people don't miss shit.
t. I never actually played Thief to the see CLEARLY ANGRY FUCKING DEAD PEOPLE GET MAD AT SOMEONE STEALING THEIR SHIT LONG AFTER THEY'RE FUCKING DEAD

The whole point is that the supernatural stuff from Thief are the crapiest part from Thief. Angry spirits was not even supouse to be there anyway.

I already celebrated the 19th anniversary, but OK

It's still better then 2's shit missions.

Still don't make it good.

You're right. It makes it better.

>RI has one point of entry

There is no shit > shit.

SHIT = SHIT.
If you think one shit is better then other one, you have a problem.

>It correlates relatively high with the rating for the most non enjoyable mission (.17 **).
>That means: The people who gave the most non enjoyable mission a really bad rating, did not like THC.
>I have already analysed the group of people who rated the least preferred mission low in Training. No need to do it again (But they were in a short and harsh summary kiddies.)
>So, people who liked this mission were most probably mot very young. And they enjoyed the entire game more

lytha.com/thief/survey/rtc.html
>People who preferred the normal difficulty mode gave 'RTC' a lower score
>The preferred difficulty correlates with the number of times played (.19 **) (the more times played, the higher the preferred difficulty mode) and - most interesting! - with the education (-21 **) (the higher the educational level, the higher the preferred difficulty mode!)
>'RTC' correlates also highly with the number of times played (-.15 *) (the higher the number of times played the higher the rating for 'RTC').
>Now, a short analysis of the people who enjoyed 'RTC':
>They played the game many times. They had a high educational level. They gave the least preferred mission a good score. They, dear interested reader, could indeed be the people who replay the game for several times, and who enjoyed the entire game really much.

TLDR: undead haters are generally uneducated and/or underage, play the game on normal difficulty mode, and give exaggeratedly low scores to missions they don't like.

I'm not the one sperging out right now. So I think it's you with the problem. Not me.

Undeadhaters BTFO

Normal difficulty is easy mode, mate. The real normal is Hard mode, is there actually people who plays normal mode? I don't play on hard because i like having the option to kill even when i actually never kills anyone, but freedoom speaks for itself.

I don't like the supernatural missions because they are a lot streamlined and don't offer me a big playground to tankle in my way. For exemple, The haunted catedral and lost city is like a big corridor that you need to follow, Return to the haunted catedral is a bunch of menial tasks for a ghost that is not even fun, a lot of backtracking. Bonehoard is a mess but not bad at least. The prison has a good pacing and the zombies was fit well, i wish there was more of this. I'm playing the game for the first time and i'm curretly in the "escape" mission.

Manor, Opera and assassins (not count the trailing part) is my favorite ones, much more grounded and sword is just to nuts, but a good mission.

>I don't play on expert
Fix'it.

Idk really. Seems neat

Should I play it? I have the two games

Are you really asking this question? Just play the game.

1/Gold and 2 are legit among the best games ever made.

>The haunted catedral and lost city is like a big corridor that you need to follow
Both missions are very open ended. I don't know what you are talking about.
>Return to the haunted catedral is a bunch of menial tasks for a ghost that is not even fun, a lot of backtracking.
You can actually complete the whole fetch quest by exploring on your own and ignoring the ghost and only ever have to talk to him when you do the ritual.
>Bonehoard is a mess but not bad at least
How so?

Thats bullshit, but I believe it
you still need to clear the pathway so ultimately you're railroaded in any case

At that point you might as well say any piece of loot railroads you.

that's probably newdark only

im glad people are defending bonehoard here, that level was fucking great. though idk why people complain about the zombie part of cragscleft because all you have to do is find the holy water

One of the best levels-slash-casual filters. You'll be back.

am i the only one who likes thief 1 AND 2

I'm sorry but there's literally a line drawn on your map that says YOU HAVE TO CLEAR THAAT

Lost City and Haunted catedral plays like the "streamline side", Manor and Assassins plays like the "playground side", i think you got a picture of why i said is a "big corridor". A giant path full of "mini-places" to explore, not my thing.

>ignoring the ghost and only ever have to talk to him when you do the ritual.
The first time i actually just have to find his candle because i had everything he asked before, but killing all the ghost hammerites and take the two bodies of his friends was a pain in the ass.

And bonehoard has a bunch of caves that feels all the same, and a lot of dead ends. But the atmosphere and that song was very pleasant play, i just wish there was only the tomb part.

No. They're 2 of the best games ever. Everyone in this thread has already said so.

Thief 2 has less skip worthy levels

Alright I'll install now

I wish I was good at these games, those masterfully played webms really sell it but im so shit

Your dead meat taffir!

The guards have keys for a reason.

Same. I can't do well at these
