My boys is NASCAR Heat 2 good?

Burnout 3

Gran Turismo Sport

How is the offline mode?

What's a decent recent racing game that I can play on ultra with an i3-8100, a gtx 760, and 8 gigs of ddr4 ram?

Emulated initial d arcade games

Hasn't been implemented yet, unfortunately. Patiently waiting on it myself.

DriveClub
/thread

So I have to wait for a true GT7.

The last racing game I enjoyed was Most Wanted on ps3, how does DriveClub compare to that ?

>/threading your own post

They said that a proper offline mode with a GT League will be coming sometime this month. The one downside to this game, for the moment, is the heavy online focus. And the fact that you need to be online to even save for whatever reason. Otherwise the game itself is pretty damn good. Definitely pick it up when on sale or at least when these offline modes are in.

Damn, I was not expecting the first post to be the best post

Dirt Rally but it isn't perfect, there isn't anywhere near enough tracks.

What gsme is that bwm gt from ?
Nedd for speed for ps4 was nice but fucking made it online only

>What game
You actually named it for me right after

Need for Speed: Most Wanted(2005)

Hows Forza Horizon 3, anons? Still worth a buy today?

And there is no more car porn?

GT Sport has to be the most beautiful of all of them, I'd say. Though, what value my opinion holds is up to you.

>how does DriveClub compare to that ?
it's different, more like Project Gotham racing

What? Did you read my question?

>literally so bad the company was close
Try again.

>30fps racing game
Dirt Rally looks just as good and runs at 60fps on PS4, no idea how the DC devs fucked up so badly.

>Dirt Rally looks just as good
lol

Going to go with this. Photo mode in PCars2 sucks though so have a GT Sport pic instead.

I seem to remember the demos and betas for GT Sport having a pretty compelling physics model with detailed FFB. The final game just feels neutered though.

Forza Horizon 3

Racing games suck so much. They look neat but the gameplay is always ironically slow since cars can't make neat curves.

GO away baka.

>since cars can't make neat curves.
What does that even mean?

>real life backgrounds
ugh

I want a new Underground 2 or 2005 Most Wanted.
That's literally all I want.

I'm ESL so I can't explain it but cars can only make very broad and slow turns when at high speeds do these games are always ironically slow paced despite how "fast" they are going.

Forza Horizon 3 until Forza Horizon 4 next year

Sim or arcade?
Because you can't compare these two.

this, no contest really
just hope the next location is more interesting, not a big fan of straya

Well yeah, physics dictates that you must slow the vehicle to change direction. If you just want the car to follow the road without having to control anything besides the steering, you could just play Outrun...

My dream horizon map is the american southwest but condensed for vidya game purposes. Red rock canyons of utah, mojave desert of nevada, Colorado rockies for togue, shit would be amazing

>that cozy feeling when you see fireworks off in the distance in FH3

The artists do a really amazing job

Depends on what you mean by that. The game doesn't have as many sexy cars but the ones that are there look better than ever. There are museums in the dealerships that talk about the history of the manufacturer.

>not driving sideways through the turn so you don't lose any speed

You just described Forza Horizon: Zero Dawn.

There is no more car collection and choosing the best car for an event?

Yes. Fun game.

>MFW

Man i hope it still looks good despite being an old game, definitley gonna take a look at it

Will I like GT Sport, Project Cars 2 or Forza Horizon 3 if I think GRID 1 has the best driving ever?

gran turismo

In my genuine opinion, GTA Online

The driving is great, the right balance between arcadey and realistic. Infinite user-generated races, as well as a really good selection of default tracks. Great vehicle variety. If you're looking for a racing game that's kind of an MMO, this is the closest thing to a good one.

The problems are a) shit community b) finding good user made tracks is impossible and c) they keep adding a new, more expensive, bullshit car every 4 months

There is. Can collecting is the same as it's always been with the obvious exception of there being only 170 cars.

And there are several missions that let you choose which car you want to use for the particular challenge. GT mode coming this month is supposed to have the traditional campaign from past games that will presumably work the same way.

Upgrading cars has changed however. You can no longer buy individual components to bolt on to your car. They "streamlined" that. You just upgrade the power and weight with mileage points now. Personally, I'm okay with this. Its not like their physics model is anything special so pretending that PD actually comprehends and properly simulates what upgrading the clutch plates or ECU does is a bit of a joke...

>not italy/switzerland area
>not going on ultracomfy snowy mountain roads with lush greens below

neck thyself

All 3 of those are simcades so they're similar to GRID anyway.

The codemasters F1 games
I have 100+ hours in a lot of them.

Pcars is probably the most sim of the three, if you don't want to be bothered with spending a good deal of time tuning your setup, then you should remove that game from your list.
It's not a bad game, the career mode is meh (miles better than the previous game, but the AI still cheats at higher difficulty levels), the online part is miles better than pcars1 and there are plenty of lobbies that force default setups so you don't have to bother with those, but at the end of the day it's meant to be a sim, so buying that just to play with default setups is kinda pointless imo.

If you understand a bit of car physics and you like the idea of fine tuning your car to shave hundredths of a second from your lap time, then go ahead and buy it.

Are GT Sport and/or Dirt Rally still fun without a wheel setup?

>Dirt Rally looks just as good
you're a joke. slap on those weather effects and get back to me

Someone wanna explain to me why xbox stopped selling the first horizon? Wtf?? I have to get the game from gamestop?

I know of a few people that have had a lot of fun with Dirt Rally on gamepad.

GT Sport is hardly fun even with a wheel. Them again, plenty of people online that are obviously using pad appear to be having a good time...

i hope you're baiting because GRID and GT are nowhere near each-other gameplay wise. there's a reason GRID is referred to as simcade and GT is usually called a sim by anyone who isn't a pedantic turboautist

NFS Payback because when you pay for it you really do want your money back

There's only 2 acceptable answers:
Forza Horizon 2
Dirt Rally

Wipeout Omega Collection

Star Wars Racer

IT'S A NEW LAP RECORD

It's definitely playable with a pad but without proper force feedback system you are always in a disadvantageous situation. Rallying also requires you to make small adjustments all the time and doing that on a small stick on a pad can be hard. It's much easier to control with a wheel. You can complete the game easily with a pad but don't except to hit top times in online racing.

It's not also that simulator heavy as you may think. It's definitely leaning more to the simulation side but the damage system is not as realistic as it should be and driving on asphalt felt weird from time to time.

Arcade racers are either kartshit or dude watch this sikk drift the game automatically does on every corner, and simcade/sim is ruined by both the super serious and lol imma ram you faget crowds.
Sadly my favorite genre seems to have died with the 360.

>tfw tried to crack horizon 3 but it never fucking works
Its expensive as fuck too

How well was NFS Rivals received?
I haven't played a NFS game since underground 2, and playing this now is nowhere near as fun as that was.
are there any good NFS games for the 360 to current gen consoles?

Wipeout

This.

Sonic and All-Stars Racing: Transformed

Unironically GTAV Online Racing

They gave it away for free some months ago

I just got an xbox from that taco bell give away :(

Unironically loved this game. Best memory has to be losing a drag race, because I tuned my Charger to "FULL POWAH!", and ended up blowing it out at close to 200mph. Needed more gears.

Sorry user. Forza Horizon 3 with the hot wheels DLC for $32 at CDkeys right now though

Assetto Corsa is great for larping a vietnamese childrens cartoon: youtube.com/watch?v=H7a3QyQ3ujo

It's pretty damn good. I've been playing it again recently, mainly because I skipped all the street races, mentioned to a friend how it was weird they omitted the RX7 and he told me "Nah, you unlock it in a midnight battle."

So I've been practising my Dorifto skills and enjoying that Rotary engine whirr.

I'd argue it's harder than PGR. Well, from what I played of the free version. Decent game though, still haven't got around the getting the full version.

Agreed. I still think the first game had the best map, personally. Liked having more little towns scattered. 'Straya is a bit barren at times.

FH2 had the worst map though, IMO. Might be because I only played the neutered 360 version though.

The first game always annoyed me with the fact you'd have to be cautious until your tyres and brakes heated up, but the AI didn't have that problem.

So they'd be going full Fury Road around the track, whereas you're meekly slowing into corners so you don't go flying off.

>with the hot wheels
holy shit I loved that, one of the best experiences I've had on a racing game

>FH2 had the worst map though, IMO. Might be because I only played the neutered 360 version though.
I put nearly a thousand hours into the Horizon series and more than 400 were on FH2, I think it has the best map by a long shot, best soundtrack too

The 360 version was horrible tho, so I can see why you didn't like it as much

PGR is one of my favorite racing series and they run at 30

One thing that's actually nice about DC is that the season pass is only 10 bucks or so and gets you more content than most full racing games

Forza Horizon 3 is probably the best around right now. It's got its issues but the gameplay is great. Needs more trucks, though.

Aren't they working on an open world RPG?

Even though the season pass is only like $12, my inherent jewishness prevents me from buying anything at full price, and as a result I've been waiting to buy the DLC for like six months now because I haven't seen it go on sale yet.

They have been taking down successive forza games over the last few years, most likely due to licensing expiring. After FM5 FH2 is next on the chopping block.

Horizon games need better Rally courses. It's something about driving through fields and stuff that I'm tired of. Though the Blizzard DLC is dope when you start a race in the sun and by the finish it's a, well a blizzard.

Not sure if one of the best, but Need for Speed 2015 was pretty fun.

The second game has the same cheating AI, although they seem to be a bit less cheating with their version of a racing line.
They still set qualifying times on their first or second full lap and sometimes they fly over curbs in a way that would send your car into another dimension, so they definitely don't have the same physics you have and don't have to worry about tire temperature.

I guess the reason for this is that the game can't calculate accurate physics for 20 cars so your opponents just get a very rough approximation on your physics, or whatever, I don't know, I'm not a developer. It's still annoying as hell and the reason why I can't really take career mode seriously.

Learn to fucking drive

If there was pedestrians walking around, I'd buy that gif being real.

Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain

Wipeout Omega Collection. Buy three copies so they'll make a new game.

Forza Horizon 3. Before that Test Drive Unlimited.

So anyway here are the real answers OP is looking for.

Sims:
Assetto Corsa
Automobilista
Project Cars 2
Dirt Rally
GT Legends
GTR2
Raceroom
Euro Truck simulator 2
Nascar Racing 2003
Grand Prix Legends

Arcade/simcade:
Toca race driver 3
Dirt 3
F1 2017
Grid 1 and Autosport
Need for speed Most Wanted
Burnout Series

Fun but frustrating at times. AI is a rubber banding piece of shit. Have to luck out some of the time.
