That's probably just a coincidence; it looks like there's root motion applied to the death animation and it happens to be shoving the character capsule into the wall, which causes the feet to slide away from the wall (instead of the intended effect, which is the feet staying stationary and the body collapsing to one side).
It's a version of your character walking-in-place when he steps into his melee attacks with a wall in front of him, but it happens to be on an animation that looks good either way.
