>...the team is now at the point now where everything an Xbox 360 can do, its emulator can mirror in software
Now why aren't you supporting Microsoft for all their hard work? You don't even have to buy the games again if you own the disc or digital version before. Many title perform and even look better than before and region locking is removed. Expect to see hundreds more titles compatible next year. Sony actually expect you to buy PS2 classics again on PS4.
I don't want to buy a system that plays 360 games, when I already have a 360.
Isaac Myers
Everyone here owns ps4s, so will mindlessly shit on xbone despite it being the better console now (it didn't used to be).
Austin Mitchell
My dick, in theory, is capable of inserting itself inside every vagina
Andrew Thomas
backwards compatibility is a meme
Josiah Jones
I don't want my Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One all connected at once just for tye convenience of wanting to go back to an old game.
Landon Harris
#4theplayers
Jace Gomez
I'm waiting for them to bring out games I actually wanna play. Like Timesplitters 2/FP
Jason Torres
>Now why aren't you supporting Microsoft for all their hard work?
I would buy their games on PC (since they're all available there) if they didn't lock them in to their retarded walled garden store that has probably lost them 90% of their sales for no benefit.
Kayden Wood
in theory the xbox 360 can play every xbox original game as well.
what is your point?
Charles Jenkins
Now how do we stop getting cucked by the licensing issues meme? It shouldn't matter if you own the game. They should be allowed to make it compatible and just don't offer a digital version.
Adam Jackson
>You don't even have to buy the games again Oh thanks Microsoft. Thanks for only forcing me to download the games over internet again, because they couldn't be bothered with hardware compatibility / proper backward compatibility.
Oh and thanks for ruining gaming with: - introducing patches resulting in unfinished games being released - introducing DLC + microtransactions - introducing paid allowance to play $60 games online
Thanks, Microsoft. You are the cancer gaming needed.
Bentley Sullivan
I was pretty impressed with the performance of 360 games on the One but the issue is that Microsoft has to get the okay from publishers to make a game backwards compatible. So some games will remain unplayable.
Jose Perez
I will at the end of the gen for sub 100.
I'm not paying several hundred dollars to play Sunset Overdrive, The Master Chief Collection, Rare Replay, Xbox 360, and Xbox Original titles. I have a gaming PC, I have Windows 10, The Xbone is designed to be redundant with that setup. Crackdown, Rare's Pirate game, Gears 4, The Next Halo, Super Lucky's Tale, Cuphead, Killer Instinct, it all just comes to PC anyway
Jace Brooks
Xbox emulator on Xbox 360 is utter shit. Tried playing Simpsons Hit & Run on it. Screen tearing everywhere.
Xavier Barnes
>Everyone here owns ps4s Nope.
John Morales
You don't have unlimited internet? Just download the games once and you're done. You can copy them over to an external hard drive for backup also.
Ayden Hughes
I really hope they enhance more 360 games soon. Skate 3 and Oblivion look really good now and they should be pushing this more.
Henry Reyes
Paid online is more worth it now than it was ten years ago. Now you get actually decent games to play every few weeks on games with gold. People pay the cost of xbl 12 month in a month just for cable.
Michael Kelly
>You don't have unlimited internet? I simply do not want to download games, that I bought physically. Pretty simple to understand.
Because you know at some point they won't feel like keeping servers up and then all of that is gone.
Hardware backward compatibility is the only way. Everything else is crap.
Dylan Sanders
I'd just use 360 to play 360 games. Seems less hassle since you know that every game will work and it's cheaper.
Ayden Rivera
>for backup Yeah, and when Microsoft turns off their servers everything will still work even when the "console" breaks down and I have to get a new one.
As soon as DRM is involved, there are no backups anymore.
Lucas Wood
San Andreas (360 version) I'm hoping comes. Surprised it hasn't since RDR, GTA IV and Bully are.
Carson Williams
I want Crackdown and Max Payne 3 enhanced but I don't think MP3 will get any treatment.
Matthew Hill
By that point you won't care. Xbox 360 live works because it is needed for backwards compatibility on Xbox One anyway. So it will be a long time.
Games work offline. Digital versions should work if you have the console set as the home console. Achievements don't unlock offline though and only unlock once back on XBL.
Anthony Watson
Crackdown 1 & 2 probably will be offered as a preorder incentive for the new game.
Easton Reed
>Paid online is more worth it now No, it's not worth anything, moron. It's a rip-off. Plain and simple. You pay them so they let you play the games - that you paid for - on the internet connection - that you also pay for.
You pay for multiplayer development, right? And you don't get to play the content that you paid for when you don't want to pay a monthly fee on top.
>Now you get actually decent games I prefer to actually own games. And I buy the ones I actually want on disc/cart. And when I do that, I don't need them 3 years later as literally rentals for a monthly fee.
If I wanted monthly rentals, I would literally rent games. Or well buy games and then sell them after 2 weeks. Would be way cheaper and sometimes even would me get money for free.
Ryan Martinez
Some of those games have matchmaking servers and dedicated hosting. This costs money to run hundreds of thousands of servers (there really is that many for XBL).
Jason Bell
Eh,
Dylan Diaz
>So it will be a long time. Until investors tell Microsoft to stop wasting money on something that they lost trillions of shekels.
>Games work offline Ok, so I got a disc here. Insert it into my Xbax. Will I be able to play that disc without internet through "backward compatibility"?
Oliver Ortiz
You own Xbox 360 games when downloaded on 360. They still work after gold expires.
Aiden Cruz
>t. shill or moron
Tell me how Valve is able to actually supply real dedicated servers and match making and other shit and I paid them like 2 bucks in total.
>those matchmaking servers cost tons of money So you get all the games for free, I guess. No one pays for any game at all anymore. Poor Microsoft.
Carson Gomez
protip steam can take away your games and cease as a business someday. Do they even put disc versions out anymore of pc games?
Xavier Torres
>You own No, you don't own anything.
Try to get another console. Play your games on it without Microsoft's allowance. Oh noes, that doesn't work. How...
When I own actual games on disc, I can do that. That's when I actually own something.
Austin Moore
And remember not every dev puts out drm free versions.
Thomas Howard
I think you still have to download the game even if you've it on a disc.
Jaxson Torres
>protip steam can take away your games Oh noes, how could this happen. Wait, this is literally every fucking company ever that uses any type of online DRM. Which includes Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and other kikes.
Good thing that I'm not a PC-fag anymore. And when I'm stupid enough to buy a PC game digitally, I would use GOG.
And I actually own like 200+ PC big box copies. That I actually own, because they still work despite most publishers being gone by now.
Jordan Green
For me it's not an issue. I delete games after I'm done with them. Only a few games are worth playing again.
Kayden Powell
So >>Games work offline was a lie by a shill.
Thanks, user.
Oliver Cooper
>buy dreamfall on disc for pc >installs rootkit drm on your pc
Boxed games are cancer.
Nolan Cooper
Normie, get out of my chan!!! REEEEEEE
Tyler Ward
They do right? If you own the disc and have the downloaded emulated versions on external storage then you can play them on another Xbox One if it breaks.
Gabriel Lee
I own old Big Box PC games, that don't have that cancer. Thanks. Physical copy protection ftw.
Luis Thomas
I've played at least a dozen backwards comp games I originally missed out on 360. I love the feature, desu.
Kayden Brooks
>on another Xbox One if it breaks. Without ever connecting to Microsoft? I seriously doubt that.
>muh games work offline FAKE NEWS, shill.
Wyatt Parker
I'm sorry to say this but life is short and I am not going to be worried if I can't play some forgettable game again just because I bought it once cheap on sale. Collecting is a disorder.
Kayden Phillips
Same, I wish they'd put more games, hell there's many xbox 360 exclusives that are not BC while we get garbage multiplat games.
Ryder Reyes
Damn you guys will be straight up anal and negative about absolutely anything. You can PLAY the games offline, but yes you need to download them first. If you have the disc, you can download them for free.
Wyatt Rodriguez
>Collecting is a disorder. No, it's something that intelligent people do. You know I could sell my games collection for tons and I mean tons of money.
You can't even sell "your" games collection at all. Because you don't own shit.
So let me repeat: >physical copies can sell them for profit, can give them to friends, can do whatever I want, can also take them to friends
>digital copies can't sell them. Can't give them to friends. Literally wasting money on kike publishers for a rental and that rental is the same price as a physical copy. Often physical copies are even cheaper.
Being that dumb to buy stuff digitally. But fine, that's the PS4 generation nowadays. Unable to do basic math. Unable to think.
Mason Bell
You can take a digital copy of a game over to your friends house on the PS4.
Christian Butler
>You can PLAY the games offline, but yes you need to download them first That was my whole point.
You know Sony and Microsoft already shut down DRM servers for some paid content already. Nintendo is in the process of doing that.
Which means buying a "console", but being fully dependent on kike-ompanies is a really stupid idea.
>Be me >Own a Wii U and a 3DS and a DS >supports literally every single Wii/DS/GBA game natively >Wii U supports even last gen controllers as well >Nintendo turns off servers? >I don't care, everything will still work. >Hardware breaks down, omg >I don't care, will just get another console and it will still work
inb4 muh Wii U
Samuel Price
>Hey bro can I borrow your copy of DOOM >Sure, just download my account, download 50gb of game file, download the 30gb of updates and you're set. Shouldn't take more than 3 hours.
Ryan Taylor
I own 3 PS4s and 3 X1. OG, Slim and Pro OG, S and X.
You're either poor or stupid if you don't.
Isaac Edwards
No, you don't. You can't even remove the internal harddrive of a Piss4 and put it into another Piss4. It won't work. Just like on PS3. It's encrypted for that specific model.
You can actually: >go to friend >want to play game >enter account data >have to download game >takes 48 hours >finally able to play game >internet goes out >Piss4 boots you out of game >kill yourself out of shame
Caleb Moore
It's kind of weird that physical copies are usually cheaper. I mean people are always going apeshit when there's some sort of digital sale. While in the meantime physical copies are almost always on sale in some store.
I guess there's just much more competition in the retail market.
But wouldn't say buying digital is necessarily dumb. It's more like that people just don't care that much. They just want to waste few hours on some game and then forget it and do something else.
Jose Perry
Works with mine when I’m offline
Jose Robinson
Sorry you have to download the game first
William Howard
This. Sony4Lyfe
Austin Taylor
>Steam isn't a walled garden
Adrian Diaz
is it still always online bullshit?
can i use it now without ever going online once
Grayson Sullivan
...
Lincoln Ramirez
Sure, but as with the ps4 every major release has a day one patch
Cooper Moore
>buying day one
pff fuck this I wait till the complete edition comes out next year, it's not like the game just suddenly disappears anyway
Hunter Fisher
Ace Combat 6 fucking when? I would genuinely consider getting cheap Xbone if that happened.
Blake Stewart
They support external drives now and you have access to your stuff if you just sign in and download it.
Charles Turner
>thinking disc games hold any value
I can buy a 1998 pc game for peanuts.
Jack Cox
You'll still have to download the patch or suffer a broken game. Patches don't come on GOTY discs.
Camden Rodriguez
Unless the game is really broken you don't need to download any patches. Then again you wouldn't pay for broken stuff right?
Nolan Garcia
Posting on the internet about not wanting to use the internet.
Aaron Cruz
how about making some new games no one cares about old shit that's not even that old
Angel Miller
True. GOTY is usually the same disc as the standard edition just with codes put inside to download the DLC. Also Blu-ray can't hold all of this data on disc anyway.
Liam Brooks
Og Xbox only
Lucas Reed
You need to be online to create a profile.
Chase Martin
You know a system is shit when backwards compatibility is the only thing it has going for it.
Aaron Torres
You know your life is shit when your this guy.
Hunter Adams
Which the Xbox now does. Which the new homefront has two levels of hidden in an arcade as an easter egg. They've clearly got it working on modern consoles and PC, they're holding back for some reason. Why do you let sony tell you that you don't want BC? Might be the only thing Xbone has going for it but at least its a step in the right direction
Andrew Torres
what a load of bullshit
fuck this
Connor Hughes
I'm actually thinking about buying one because I want to play Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise.
Easton Watson
pic made me spit out drink
Juan Clark
I'm actually super anxious that I might get a fidget spinner or a cube this Christmas and it'll be so embarrassing.
Andrew Foster
VP was one of the 360's best games desu. Some of those little shitters were cute, too
Eli Cruz
It's been a while but I remember having a lot of fun hatching eggs to get that special piñata like the dinosaur and stuff. It makes me want to play it again since I have RR.
Ethan Garcia
Fuck that my 360 doesn't have Wi-Fi, has shit for storage, the controllers are old and broken, and I'd have to hook it all up if I wanted to. My Xbox One makes it that much easier when it's already plugged in and has everything in one place.
Daniel Davis
I own a PS4 but I legit like the efforts they are doing with the Xbox, specially retro and foward compatibility.
sony should fucking learn and do the same.
Oliver Gonzalez
The other parties involved have to green light it, so for example I'm SoL on playing my MGS HD collection on my Bone.
Dylan Williams
So are they finally porting Ninja Gaiden 2? My xbone has been gathering dust for the longest time waiting for it.
Caleb Moore
>$100 >xbox capable of playing current gen AAA games >xbox capable of playing 2 previous gens of AAA games >xbox capable of playing some pc AAA games >xbox capable of emulating and playing dreamcast, psx, psp, n64, snes AAA games
literally the most diverse console in history yet most people just love to hate on it because of muh brand loyalty. yes, you can do the same on pc but can you do it all for $100? enjoy your VM protect denuvo drm i guess.
Chase Cooper
I would gladly trade in my 360 for an Xbox One S. I get something smaller, quieter, and can play the one-off console game I might actually feel like picking up.
Although, until there's an update that support 360 USB controllers, I don't want it.
Isaiah Watson
fpbp - especially when there at still plenty of 2nd hand 360s and games for sale
Jayden Cruz
I think xbox one costs more than 100$. modded x360 or ps3 does pretty much all of that except the obvious current AAA games.
Jackson Rivera
You are locked to Steam
Luis Miller
BC might be nice but honestly until shit's cracked and it becomes this gen's PS3 I'm not super excited. Jap games and good system software would be nice too.
Ayden Perez
>sony niggers last gen calling ps2 back compat one of the biggest benefits of owning a ps3 >sony niggers last gen having to wait 30 mins to install any new game meanwhile >sony niggers this gen calling back compat pointless and "nobody cares about old games hurr" >sony niggers this gen saying downloading back compat titles on xbox for 20/30 mins is shit
spot the contradictions
Austin Taylor
What is piracy, what is GOG, what is other stores
Michael Stewart
Hypocrisy? No way Funny that the nobody cares about old games hur was the exact official response why microsoft left the og xbox in the 360 half baked with a ton of visual glitches and performance issues.
Wyatt Perry
>Xbox one >being cracked Lol PS4 being cracked is more likely than Xbox.
David Davis
Steam is DOMINATING in PC. Most of them are locked in Valve garden.
Evan Cooper
Is MGS2/3 Backwards Compatible yet?
Thomas Lewis
Is this the biggest 180 in the history of business let alone video games?
>Makes a console based on not being able to share games, play old games and have those games be locked to the point you need to be online to pay, o and the kinect
>Give up all that and try to make your console a hub for everything you tried to make it not do earlier
