>enjoy fighting games
>shit at all of them
I-I'm sure ill get better at DBFZ
>We'll never get the official reboot that user was working on
It still hurts. Fuck Interplay.
Guilty Gear and hopefully Soul Calibur 6 when that drops. Tekken is the last game I would want to play cause I just get left pissed playing it or irritated online
2008 was a long time ago
they are pure skill no luck
Tekken 7 all day, almost Orange rank but the moment I start to do well and figure my character out I get bored and start learning someone else. it's becoming an issue
mad and bad, stick to the kiddy pool games
Tekken 7. I used to play SFV, but switched to tekken as soon as it was released. Looking forward for DBFZ. Oddly enough, I play Kazuya.
>tfw i just got back to brawler again with Kazuya after being demoted again and again.
I play both T7 and SFV. Love them both. Tried Marvel, it's not my thing. I'm looking forward to SCVI. DBFZ doesn't really seem that appealing to me, based on the beta. But I'll still fool around with it and see.
Don't really have a favourite, i enjoy most of them. Waiting for DBFZ to drop, i can't take the wait anymore.
>playing Kazuya as a newcomer
protip: stop it
you NEED that easy launcher to deal with noobs online. Kazuya just doesn't cut it unless you spend an hour every day practising different EWGF's like you would learn an instrument, it's just not worth it.
Naruto Storm 4
SFV and Rev2 are my main games at the moment, I dabbled in Tekken 7 but didn’t like it very much. Favorite is 3S and I play it with friends almost every weekend. Hyped for SFV:AE, DBFZ, and SF 30th anniversary collection.
SFV, KoFXIV, and Smash 4
Used to play SFV but now i only play Tekken. I will probably give sfv another go if AE actually fixes netcode issues.
Skullgrills
Capcom vs SNK 2 is my favorite fighting game. I play Dead or Alive 5 Last Round after coming home from hard work.
Anyone still play Mahvel 3?
>Wanted to buy Tekken 7
>They double the price just a week or so before release
>Couldn't get myself to buy the game even at %50 price because of this
Being a roach is sometimes suffering
SFV, T7, Gundam Versus
Going all in on Dissidia when it comes out.
T7 and GG Rev 2.
Hype for DBFZ and Soul Calibur 6
Might get SFV complete edition when it inevitably comes out.
Interested in UNIEL and BB but I have enough on my plate as is so I just watch.
Blazblue
post the full pasta
But no one is as fun
KoF is the only fighting game I still play online
I don’t understand this meme, Tekken’s netcode is significantly worse than SFV
it really, really isn't.
Your one OP. I love that autistic edgy badboy all of my life.
I like tekken but I'm not a fan of the matchmaking. I don't like waiting for an opponent. Just gimme a list of opponents. It doesn't even have to have their names pop up. Just show me someone I can fight against instead of making me wait 5 minutes because nobody else is on the same match type.
I have less trouble finding opponents on ultra street fighter II for crying out loud.
Faggot
Jesus user i don’t want his dick, i want to BE him
Don't we all?
Recommend me a character to play. I only play Kazuya and a bit of D.Jin.
It has been a while since I last playes Smash 4. Oddly enough, I played Ryu lol.
Someone has to train up the newfriends
Still do, but not online. I mostly play with a friend at his palce.
Bad at all of them, but love them for some reason. Current focus is under night.
Street Fighter V.
Diamond rank Birdie.
I love Birdie.
>tfw Jewpuncher main
>tfw get absolutely bodied by everyone I play
Not everybody.
Melee
probably VSAV
He said fighting games
You're not making good enough of uses of his pressure then. His hitboxes almost feel unfair and his fireballs are fast as shit.
Hell, the single best player in the lobbies is an Akatsuki main
And I posted a fighting game :)
It really doesn't matter. Half the time someone says a smash game, it's just to bait these replies at this point.
MK/Tekken
Mortal Kombat X/Tekken 7
Dont listen to him, learn kaz if u like him. Tekken is all about learning experience through playing so just keep learning and practicing
what are you talking about, mishimas build great fundamentals
starting with kazuya instead of a mashy character is the best thing he could do
I've not played for a good while and I really didn't put enough time in. When UNIST hits the west I'll pick it up again and try to make some progress with him, it just feels like I work twice as hard with him to get worse results than picking some fucking fullscreen gorilla like Gordy or Waldy.
i spent the last 3 years or so trying to get gud at gg but i had no progress what so ever.
Were you aware that Akatsuki was sitting in the S-Tier spot during arcades for [st]? Everyone got buffed in the console release so he's back to A tier again with like 97% of the cast but he's strong as hell now.
I heard he got buffed but I didn't know he was sitting in top tier. I need to go watch some matches, any noteworthy players you can recommend?
Under Night was surprisingly easy to get to grips with. Played it earlier this year and ended up getting pretty good. Was a good game
I've got Guilt Gear Xrd as well but just don' play it enough to get good at it.
Being a sort of airdasher/grounded middle ground makes it feel probably the best to me. I'd like to think I'm getting some handle on it.
Other than that I rotate BBCF, Rev 2, and SF5 on particularly slow days. Can't say I fare much better in those.
He's not anymore since everyone got some new tools to play with but Akatsuki is no longer a joke pick. Same goes for the other former low tiers like Seth and Chaos, the former still sitting at top tier since [st]'s arcade and Chaos being a decent A-tier.
>noteworthy players
That's the problem with finding specific videos with characters though, nearly all the good arcade match videos are just 2-hour long stretches. There's a couple sites that catalog specific match-ups though.
Is it worth trying to get into fighting games if you have slow reflexes, not great at mind games and you've got no friends that play fighting games so you'd either be fighting AI or online
No
Unless you've got the determination to better yourself, learn from your mistakes, and suffer through constant defeat.
How badly do you take losing?
I play jojo when I get home
What the FUCK was capcom thinking when they made petshop
I always fall back to DOA5 and SCV for 3D fighters. Lost touch with tekken since 6. 5 was the pinnacle of the series for me.
>How badly do you take losing?
Depends on how I'm feeling
I mean, I'm willing to try some but if I'm just going to lose over and over again there's got to be some other value in playing the game.
I've been playing the Fighting Ex beta since it's free. I'm currently at 3 wins and 40 losses (those wins I think were against people who hadn't played the game before), some of the time I enjoy playing if it's against someone I feel I have a chance against, but the majority of fights my opponent has just fucking cleaned the floor with me. I get stuck in a corner getting raped or I get stuck behind a bunch of fireballs. I've learned the controls and can pull off moves in training but when it comes to actual games I struggle with putting them out, often it feels like I don't have any time to think of what to do.
>tfw I'm 100-0 playing my friend at jojos because he can't fucking deal with Khan
Tekken and Soul Calibur
>T7
>Played ranked for the third time since I had the game and missed my rank up fight to fighter 3 times, dropping the same combo.
>practice combo
>practice other characters to learn what shit is unsafe
>game is so fun I haven't gone back to rank since and just dick around in practice to beat my friends
Think I'll get back on and get my Drag to yellow and just try and get more characters to warrior too.
Fightan is so fucking fun.
You're rarely ever going to succeed against someone who's seasoned in a game you're playing, that's just a given. The best way to keep yourself motivated and continue playing is to ideally have someone around your level to learn together with. If not, then you're probably not going to stick around a game for long.
Oh, okay then. I've only got one friend I play games with and he doesn't like fighting games so I can't really do that. I guess fighting games aren't for me in that case
Picked up Pokken last week and have been on that grind. Crawling to C5.
KoF98
Tekken currently, but I played a shit ton of Soul Calibur I / II, MvC2, and Garou MOW back in the day...
I've been playing tekken since DR, I have my main at overlord and 4 other characters at vanquisher or above in 7, and I successfully got my Hwoarang / D. Jin team to Genbu in TTT2, but...
I think I'm gonna give tekken a break though because in all honesty it's not worth the frustration anymore. I've also developed wrist problems in my left arm.
If they fix the movement system in the next game I'll probably come back to it, but honestly I'm one of those people that just see KBD at this point as bullshit game design that has been left in to artificially raise the skill ceiling and give legacy players a sense of superiority (of which I am one...)
Probably gonna pick up SFV:AE and play that casually until SCVI comes out then dive into that
Waiting for SCVI and Blade Strangers. Nothing on the market right now really interests me.
>If they fix the movement system in the next game I'll probably come back to it, but honestly I'm one of those people that just see KBD at this point as bullshit game design that has been left in to artificially raise the skill ceiling and give legacy players a sense of superiority (of which I am one...)
but it's not even hard
I just wish movement moved as fast as DR. It seems slower/less distance now.
I never played fighting games much except for some Tekken 6, but even then I was terrible.
I tried SFV, but my congenital inability to use my left thumb for all the weird stick moves made me give up.
Now I'm playing Tekken 7 and it's much more suited to me, but damn if it's hard.
Gundam Versus all day every day.
Though im hyped for DBZ
>but it's not even hard
Only people who know how to KBD say this.
This. Any persin with hard work to do won't spend his hard-earned free time learning some autistic Korean Backdash Simulator. Sorry.
tekken 7 but with kat
i can turn my brain off and still hold my destroyer rank
>44444
>okay uh
>44
>44
>*they do something stupid during neutral
>hopkick
>throw a 4 or df1
>ss
>hopkick
>repeat
But no one that comes to Sup Forums has anything important to do
This legit upsets me. Harada officially can't balance the new characters worth shit
there's two sides to kat
>omg her frame data is shitttt
>omg 44444
lowest move list in the game and you can punish everything. if you cant download her in two matches (ie you didnt lab her for one solid hour) you deserve to lose.
It took me about ~4 months of practice in TTT2 to become proficient in it, playing roughly ~3 hours 5 days a week....and from what I can gather this seems to be the norm.
I wish tekken has SC2's movement system.
No you're right user. It's bullshit.
Every new character introduced from tekken 6 onward is gimmicked trash...a point can be made for shaheen and leo, but the point still stands. As stated above instead of making new characters with piss easy execution, they should have just fixed and refined the movement system.
You would think Sup Forums would be pretty good at them, wouldn't you?
>been playing since Tekken 1 and I still suck at the fucking series.
I can't even get out of blue rank hell in Tekken 7. I honestly want to move onto a different fighting game but Tekken is all I know.
Not anymore.
What character do you play?
Leo. Which is even more shameful because apparently she's top tier
She is, but be honest...how much time do you put into practice mode?
You should be spending a 5:1 ratio of time in practice to online
How could this be true?
I lost not even ten matches til I got to GrandMaster/ Green Rank, and my online Tekken experience was maybe 10 matches on TTT2. Maybe try a different character. Just because a character is top tier doesn't mean you can be top tier with them.
You might be playing too defensive, desu. I ran out of blues by just doing running 2 with Dragunov, poking, and trying out punishes with jabs, and doing 4,1 against d/f2 and hopkicks.
People at blues and even at greens don't know the punishes yet, and can't tech grabs. Literally do jab into a command grab for free wins.
I got to Fighter in Tekken 7 and it was fun. Slowed down on it for a bit, trying to get into Ougon now but it's really hard for me even though it's mechanically much simpler than Tekken. Wish there was ranked MM so I could play against other shitters instead of having to get stomped until I get good but I'll manage.
Who'd you play in Tekken, my guy?
And I don't know anything about Ougon, but maybe 3d games make more sense to you? I know I suck considerably more at 2D than 3D, even though they should be easier to get into.
I main Lili. Wanted to use Heihachi or Steve at first but a guide I found online said they were hard so I became a waifufag instead.
I was never very into fighting games, it would probably be easier for me to learn Ougon if I had more experience in other anime fightans. It's annoying that pretty much any move that connects can lead into a huge damage combo, unlike in Tekken where you have to do a slower, less safe move to juggle the opponent. And I keep forgetting to block low due to Tekken training me not to do that without good reason.
What fighting game should I play if I want a general trend towards fast movement and good normals? Fireballs can be good but not ST good
>There are people who dont wake up in the mornin, tell the world to get back offa them
>Lili
I really wanted to get into that character, but I don't like how her combos look or feel. The down jab that is needed for some of them makes them look more janky than they should in my opinion.
>too complicated so I became a waifufag
Nothing wrong in trying them if you think they're cool desu. At least if you give up then, you at least tried them. I just gave up on Nina cause those side step 1 cancels are such a fucking ball-pain. I know I was going to waste millions of hours just to fuck it up online, but I'm happy I tried her.
>it would probably be easier for me to learn Ougon if I had more experience in other anime fightans
Felt the same way when I messed around in GG with friends. But, if you don't play, you'll never get used to them :(
>I just wish movement moved as fast as DR. It seems slower/less distance now.
That has nothing to do with the design decisions and everything to do with the actual code. As games get more complex, they get more bogged down by the huge amount of code. UE4 has so much shit going on, be it particle effects or post-processing that it feels slower even compared to Tag 2 which people complained about at the time was a framer slower than T6. It's not about input delay but the weight of the engine. A relatively low-poly 3d fighting game would be ideal but that wouldn't sell.
>but I don't like how her combos look or feel
I didn't have much issue with her combos, the only hard part is timing the ff+3 f+1,2 at the end because on certain combos it's easy to make the final hit miss. youtu.be
Also her d+3 is my favourite move in the game so far, hits low and has great range youtu.be
>Nothing wrong in trying them if you think they're cool desu
I just didn't want to make the beginning any harder than it needed to be. A friend said he might get Tekken during the Christmas sale so that'll be the perfect time to learn new characters for me.
I didn't have an issue actually doing the combos. I just mean I don't like how they look visually or feel to actually do, like hands wise. They're not very hard at all, all things considered. That D1 really is the only reason I don't play her. I really do think they make her combos look more boot-legged than they should.
She is super sick otherwise. I wanted to get into her for the root of evil since I love stepping on people with Dragunov lol.
