PC with DSFix installed.

Relax and enjoy it. Don't worry about dying a lot. Use the Wiki page if you want.

Also OP this is NOT an option, you will have a bad time if you don't install DSfix.

Any build is fine but you have to commit to it, trying to be a jack of all trades will just make you underpowered. Just pick whatever weapon you like best.

Use summons and look shit up if you want to or go in blind if you want to it's a single player game. Game usually "clicks" once you get to the Undead Parish bonfire, until then you don't have a lot of options, at least not if it's your first time playing.

You don't need any tips to get through the game except for this wiki page

Viable? Yes. Good? Not really at least outside of PvP.

Also should I use controller or keyboard ? I heard playing with a keyboard in ds is a nightmare
And should I connect my pc for tv for a better expirience?

DSFix lets you increase the resolution above 1024x720. It also gives you a bunch of options to increase the fps to 60 and make the UI smaller

paladin/cleric builds struggle a bit, at least until you get some of the later game miracles

Cleric build is fine early on if you get sunlight spear

I had absolutely zero issues going cleric on my first blind run of the game, infact I still play faith based builds mostly to this day.

Force and Heal make the game a lot easier for a first timer, especially when you don't kindle bonfires.

Why

Know your soft caps. Each stat has diminishing returns that cause their usefulness to nosedive at a certain point. For most stats the number is 40 but for strength it's 27 (assuming you 2hand your weapons which you almost always should).

Also the best weapons reward you for leveling both strength and dexterity so unlike most rpgs you want to increase both stats.

Because certain armors in the game give you enough resistance to things like poison.
You can farm items that cure these effects too.

It increases resistance to most damage types, but so does every other stat. It also raises poison resistance, but poison is very slow damage over time and can almost be ignored, and can be instantly cured by an item with a very high drop rate from certain enemies.

It's better to wear armor that resists it than spend any points into a stat that could be spent elsewhere on something good.

Resistance modestly increases your defenses and poison resist and soft caps very quickly, so it's not really worth increasing. If you want to live longer increase vitality to bolster your max HP and endurance to allow you to equip better armor.

I just used the xbox controller because I prefer the off set thumb sticks.

It's better to just not get hit at all. Most bosses will kill you in 3 hits anyway.
