It's bad game design. Sure, I can purposefully handicap myself and not use them, but the fact that they're in the game at all repulses me.

The whole reason why Goldeneye and Quake got so popular is because of the revolutionary for their time 3d graphics. Since graphics have advanced so much since both of their releases, both games are now just mediocre,

But it's literally just Goldeneye with a different paint job.

You not liking them doesn't mean they "break" the game. Play on Nightmare like any decent human being and they aren't an issue.

that and general gameplay, and the n64 has some of the worst controls to date, i literally don't care about story, art, ambiance, music etc

if it looks good and plays good, its better than most of the games i played in the 80s and 90s

You can play classic doom on the go with pretty much any smart phone on the market. I don't know why anyone would spend hundreds of dollars on a Switch, just so they can play a shittier game than what we had in 94.
