Why do we hate this game again?

we don't we hate other M retard.
I don't hate it, it's just not really what I wanted at the time, and it makes me fearful of what Metroid Prime 4 is going to be.
1>2 is why
I don't. It's a solid 8/10 game for me because of the atmosphere and the gameplay even if it's pretty linear.
>tfw played this shit in middle school when it came out and I would stare at the Bryyo skyline with based Bryyo soundtrack in the background
youtube.com
Did he bring up Other M dipshit?
we dont. echoes was the worst.
mp4 is going to be a trashy, casual, 480p30, 2X aniso, motion sensor fuck fest
Too linear with tons of backtracking levels.
Gunship is a terrible mechanic.
First boss fight is an exercise in frustration.
Gunship was a great mechanic you fucking pleb. It wasn't used enough as it should have been.
>First boss fight
The Berserker Lord?
>having an opinion this wrong
Sorry, first Leviathan boss a.k.a. this fucker.
I don't, I just don't think back to it as fondly as the original Prime. Still a great game though and definitely the least tedious Prime to playthrough.
I knew you meant that, just busting your balls.
Yeah he was a real pain. He and Rundas were the only hard fights in the game on the lower difficulties.
I liked it.
Only real issue I had was lack of different beams or super missiles, and that Hypermode was OP as fuck with granting you invincibility.
It takes everything that makes metroid great, unique or inspiring and trashes it, at least Other M remained in tune with the series
>Gunship is a terrible mechanic.
Elaborate.
I can see how it could be considered missed potential, but how can it be "terrible" when it's such a minor, non-intrusive mechanic there ever was.
I'd say it's worth it for the fanservice alone, much like the motion controls on the levers and buttons.
>Why do we hate this game again?
We don't.
MP4 is based off prime 1's structure, MP3 was made for the casual wii audience
Compared to the other two games it's very, very easy but all of Nintendo's game at that time had to take a hit because of casualisation.
It's also the worst game in the trilogy. It's still good but people want to be their trilogies like this: 1 < 2 < 3
it's not much harder than 1 Tbh, the only difficult thing in 1 is omega pirate
He didn't need to?
>lack of different beams
I can see that, but I think it's a sensible design decision. I hated how the beans in 1 were blatantly better than others, outside of some specific situations, and don't even get me started on limited ammo in 2.
It's terrible precisely for the reasons you stated, minus the "unobtrusive" bit. Seeing as the entire first planet uses the gunship extensively I'd call that anything but "unobtrusive".
A mediocre mechanic that feels forced and unnecessary is by definition terrible. Frankly I don't see how further developed could possibly make it good but I guess we'll never know.
Is the difficulty difference even relevant?
Corruption isn't that much easier and it's not any of the other two were particularly difficult to begin with. Disregarding that hyper mode, 3 was basicaly on par in terms of difficulty.
No, MP3 is really much easier. What versions did you play?
When they ported MP1 over to the Wii, they renamed "Easy Mode" to "Normal" and "Normal Mode" to "Veteran"
Just because it's used a fair amount of times doesn't mean it's intrusive.
You just issue a command with the press of a button. It could have been a button or some other videogame contraption like that.
Complain that the game is linear. That would make more sense. The gunship is just a contrivance used for that goal.
I'm considering hypermode for all 3. Prime 1 is still harder than 3 but it's by very little outside of the omega pirate
prime 2 is definitely harder by a good margin compared to 1/3
Hmmm... don't know about that.
I mean, 2 is probably the hardest, but how much?
The dark world atmosphere is a bit rough in the begining, specialy during boss fights, but other than that what there is to it? Those annoying totaly-not-the-chozo-guosts pitates?
I'd say they're pretty comparable, all things considered. I haven't played them on hard though.
>by how much
a good fucking margin, especially the gamecube version. Some of the mini bosses in 2 are harder than the main bosses of 1/3, the enemies are more evasive with harder to dodge attacks, higher damaging attacks, and more HP. Ammo management is a thing in boss fights or major ing/pirate battles
>replaying it just the other day
>forgot that you had to escort bomber troopers through the pirate homeworld
>mfw I'm on hypermode
They're fucking made of paper and the pirates tank so much.
I seem to recall some Wiimote bullshit 10 minutes into the game. I dropped it there. Fuck motion controls
Bryyo is underrated or it would be if Bryyo fire and Thorny Jungle werent so meh
My only complaint is Aurora 313 was pretty damn underwhelming for the trilogy final boss.
and those fucking friend vouchers back in the day
Ahhh, but that's not a fair comparison.
While playing a first person game with shooting involved using an analog stick you're basicaly crippled by the controls.
The pointer makes it a much better experience, and what's more important: a comparable experience.
We don't hate it. It's just not quite as good as the first two. It's more linear and is a lot more dialogue and story heavy.
Still a pretty gud game.
It's a cool concept, the corrupted super computer AI from a flagship. But my complaint is that it makes the game even more miserable where you basicaly kill almost every meaningful character in the game.
I wanted to save my federation buddies!
They should have gone with the original Dark Samus fight plan, where she plugs into Phaaze.
Might have been cool also to see some of the Phaaze Primes alive and fight them, maybe make them relatively easy to show Samus has grown more powerful. Could have made for an interesting boss phase if Dark Samus called in a group of Primes to fight you.
>fighting Unit 313
>over time as its health drops it starts trying to interact with your suit OS
>at first it's hacking in, but eventually it starts sounding like a distress signal
>the unit is asking you for help to either purge or kill it
Would have been cool.
