Okay Sup Forums. How the fuck do I get good at this?

Practice obviously, but I don't why you would at this point (multiple public blow ups is a death sentence for most games).

Literally just press buttons for a hundred hours.

experience is good but it's more about game sense which can be taught by videos. But don't get into this shitty game if you like FPS games

If you're planning for solo, don't

You kiss your healer's feet and beg they watch your back and heal your ass

Play any other FPS and you'll reach the skill level needed in about an hour.

Uninstall and you'll be better than every other player still playing

>pick Hanzo
>press E
>click on the ground
>kill everyone at once

Pick a character you like, play them until you gut gud. Soldier 76 is the recommended starter character because he plays the most like your traditional FPS PC.

possess basic motor skills
have a functioning brain stem
hand eye coordination
don't be autistic

>implying all high level players aren't autists

learn which heroes trump other heroes and the matchups are a big part of it.

A big part is how exactly they counter. As in, what situations you should put yourself in to best counter them as a counterpick. Lots of baits

Just play around! I'm no expert, but find what characters feel the most natural to you. Try to have 2 or so from each class so you can choose what your team needs. Have something to vent your anger on. This game can get frustrating. Something quick. For me, I have a glass of tea that I drink instead of bashing my fucking skull in.

don't because it is shit

If you really want to get "good":

1.) Decent mechanical aiming and basic game sense can carry an otherwise mediocre player to GM. The latter will come with experience -- faster if you do stuff like record and review your games to identify mistakes / etc.

Aiming practice starts with good equipment. Get a gaming mouse, large mouse pad, look up an FPS aim guide for mouse settings and such, pick an effective DPI in the typical pro range (3200 - 4600 until you find something you can tolerate. Start at the lower end unless you have no desire to play hitscan.). You will suffer while you adjust.

Get a decent monitor and make sure your FPS is high / stable. 144hz is nice but meaningless if your CPU/GPU can't handle that framerate consistently. Most use low settings. There are Overwatch guides that tell you specifically what settings to leave on or at medium for gameplay purposes.

Practice aiming in custom games against bots. Headshot practice is common. Practice tracking / flicks / etc.

2.) Pick few heroes you want to get good at and ignore the rest. I recommend a DPS with playmaking potential (76/Cree/Genji) an offtank (Zayra/Hog), and a support or two (Zen can "carry").

Don't flex much when laddering. Flex to offtank or Zen if the team is already full of DPS or something. At lower ranks you can probably do insane shit like 5 DPS comps anyway.

3.) Don't tilt. Attitude is important and Overwatch generates more salt than pretty much any other FPS because you are so heavily reliant on the team.

Try to constantly improve.

Give up while youre ahead or deal with the frustrations that are people who can't flex, and will only play DPS which they cant even do that right, while you are forced to flex every game and can only feel anger at these mccree/hanzo/genji onetricks that couldnt hit the side of a barn.

>possess basic motor skills

ftfy

Play comp, even if you initially don't fit in and people yell at you for no good reason.

I dunno i played it during a free weekend shit was so fucking easy i got bored of it in a few hours and its 4 maps or whatever. shits for little kids. Maybe thats you're problem op stop being an underage faggot.

Just keep playing and adapt to its crap factor

I'm not super great at videogames typically but was able to get to master by just spamming rockets down chokepoints as pharah for the first 3 seasons. I was level 74 season 1 before some autist screams fake story since there were no divisions in season 1.

Game is shit and extremely shallow, I still wonder why I played it as much as I did. If you are below diamond in overwatch you should stop playing videogames.

What he meant to say is that you shouldn't be mentally retarded. Being socially autistic is not a qualification.

Do the job your character is supposed to do.

If you don't trickle in and die for free and change heroes when things get rough you already are among the top 30%. You're the top 50% if you don't pick torb either. This game has a lot of retards who do these two things and don't understand why they're bad.

>effective DPI in the typical pro range (3200 - 4600 until you find something you can tolerate

lol what

play junkrat and DONT cheese

pipe + mine on offense, double mine to set up health packs (with traps) for your team behind enemy lines. the difference between a good junk and bad junk on offense is being able to kill tanks quickly and helping your carry(s)

on defense, trap the weakest hallways/lines to the payload or capture point, learn to deflect on doorframes and wall edges and be creative with bomb placement to throw off enemies. again pipe + mine is HUGELY effective and you should never have to use your second pocket mine for anything but mobility.

You don't because it's a game for casuals and you play tf2 instead.
