for fucks sake

>OMORI is a surreal psychological horror RPGmaker game.

What were you expecting gayboy?

the consequence of game development becoming democratized: a ton of people who have never had to slave away at something, through good and bad weeks, even when they didn't feel like it and who started a passion project that ran purely on that initial spark of passion.

It takes a lot of logistics and discipline to make video games, and just because you have the skills, the idea and the passion doesn't mean you're cut out for the industry. It takes grit too

They had a Omocat pop up shop back in October where they let people play the demo but I can't find any videos of the event.

You would think there would at least be some reviews of what people played.

Do the people who like the pretty boy comic and shirts and the people like video game rpgs even cross?

If they spent a small fraction of their funds on adderall they'd be done by now.

That's crowdfunded games for you

I know they had to change engines or something but this is ridiculous

here's what to take from this

people need to quit handing over money for things that look pretty. they just want your money so they don't have to slave away for their boss like we do. it's beneath them, so they hop on social media, beg for money, and play game dev. it's like the lottery for e-celebs and people who used to do stuff

Is 'health reasons' code for 'we spent all the money, let's just hope people forget about this and we can just never finish'?

>Get sucked into kickstarter
>Not really interested in anything but want to back something
>See SP VNs
>See Vita versions
>Back the Narcissu KS
>A few years later, back another newly-listed project
>Plague Road Vita version
>Get product asap for cheap
>Still waiting on Narcissu
>Conflicted about KS because of 1 success and 1 pending

At least SP announced all their Vita VN titles will be released in 2018 back at PSX. Then again, they also said that in 2017 and in 2016.

>no gameplay
Even if they release it, it'll be shit.

at least they release cute sweaters
too bad they only look good on chicks and traps though

>no shown gameplay, no word of mouth, let strangers play the demo and not release it for backers
it's fucking weird how they've handled it

>yfw you have never backed a kickstarter in your life and never plan to

it's almost like they know how gullible their backers are

these scam artists are so in on it these days, getting people to pay their rent for doing virtually doing nothing

Rule of thumb.

If a kickstarter you are interested in does not have a playable demo during the initial campaign, DO NOT FUND it.

Feels fucking great, man.

Undertale says yes

who the fuck funds an rpg maker game you stupid retard

>too bad they only look good on chicks and traps though
They look bad on anyone.

Omori was hyped up to be the next Mother.
Kind of sad Undertale stole the hype and it was funded with 1/4th the budget of Omori.

>Omori was hyped up to be the next Mother.
hyped by shills you mean

nothing stopping people from coming here and saying "look at game, look at game, look at game"

Undertale never needed crowdfunding to begin with
What was all that money for exactly?

This user speaks winsdom
This is probably the closest i've seen to an actual trap clothing line

>trailer song features god-awful "japanese" lyrics by someone who sounds like they've never even heard a lick of the language, let alone know how to pronounce it
literally weeb trash

>generic base sweater
>print generic anime design on it

Serves ya right ya weeb faggot

Because so many failures came out of Kickstarter (even though the projects were usually supplied with a fuckton of money and talent), I now believe the "slave driver" is necessary for success. There always has to be some Bobby Kotick-like figure to rein in the lazy artsy types, else you get shit like this and Broken Age

they ran off with the money

why do kickstarter contributors feel entitled to complain about

Which one of them has control of the body? Also can the other one feel pain or pleasure?

Here's a post for your thread, ENJOY, user!

...

>you'll never fuck a two-headed woman

>had to change engines
doing that entails rewriting the code for their game. it was probably more work than they anticipated. I thought it was a pretty foolish decision to change engines in the middle of development so wouldn't be surprised if they say they're burned out

OP did you really crowdfund this based of this gameplay pic? I could have shitted the same in a day.

Playable demo literally does not mean much. I have been in the crowdfund game for years now and there's a lot of failed projects out there that has demos.

This. I'll only dosh out on a finished product like a normal person.

And I've donated to games that didn't have demos, but still came out really well. A demo is a good sign though as are if there's lot of concept art and fleshed out ideas, if the creators have experience making games, if they're asking for a reasonable amount of money and know exactly what they're going to do with it.

I rarely donate to any kickstarters anymore, but I've only ever had one that failed to fully deliver, but at least they released the game and everything they promised with it. Just as a game they had a good idea, but the execution was kind of lackluster.

Maybe not a slave driver, but a manager keeping an eye on measurable results is 100% necessary for any business. A good manager is a good people person, though. Having your employees hate your guts is never a benefit.

When the hell is Barkley Gaiden 2 coming out?

>backing muh """depression""" ironic weeb games
>backing games at all

let me guess, mighty no 9?
