I hate trailers like that. It's just a hype trailer, nothing more. No gameplay. not even any game footage. these trailers are more often than not made by some secondary studio like Blur. the publishers just commision a trailer from them, has the devs send over some concept art and they crank out a trailer completely independent of the game and often times has absolutely nothing to do with the game as the trailer is made before the game has even started to fully come together on the development side.
visually it's kinda cool to look at but other than that it offers nothing, it's just a waste of 2 minutes.

Because the trailer made it seem like the game had a heavy emphasis on story and an actual narrative, instead of every cutscene being relegated to boss intros and memories

Skyrim legitimately did have one of the best trailers ever. The music and narration were as hype as any cinematic, and it actually had real gameplay for a sizeable portion of it without making it look clunky. People naturally get hype for Bethesda games, but I can remember everyone losing their collective shit over that trailer in a way I hadn't seen in years.

Makes you think there's a ton of story and that Zelda travels with you or something. In the end there's barely any twist and what happened 10,000 years ago is more interesting than 100 years ago. Also I don't think the music in the trailer even plays during the game?

MGSV's trailers (Elegia, NUCLEAR, WHOOOA, Garbage) are the best I've seen. They hyped me into believing MGSV would be the greatest achievement in the video game industry, oh how wrong we were. Luckily the same year Bloodborne came out so it helped me not quit video games out of disappointment.
