Did you let go, Sup Forums?

Did you let go, Sup Forums?
>inb4 change carryweight

>needing console commands
>when you can dump all bars on the guy, hack his leg and carry it to the exit.
come on now

>tgm
Every time.

>Did you let go
Fuck no, after all that shitty gameplay for hours that made it feel like the longest fucking DLC, I'll be fucking crazy to let go
Still, got the ending of all of them letting go, so they go fuck themselves while I'm on the wasteland fucking shit up with my huge amount of founds.

By the end I didn't fucking care mainly because I did a low INT/PER/CHA run and speech successes were scarce. And without succesful speech checks or just being a slightly cheecky cunt gives you the worst endings.

By the time you get to the dlc there's nothing left to buy with the caps

I just piled all the gold next to the door, and then picked it up before the door closed. Didn't even need to use any fringe engine mechanics, it gives you plenty of time to pick it all up, and even stubble the last few feet though the door.

>start Dead Money
>Elijah goes on about the treasures of the Sierra Madre
>proceeds to give me the real treasure the holorifle right off the bat
>lock him in the vault with his dumb gold

no
it wasn't even because of the money, i just wanted to decorate my den

So with all the DLC stuff available to Courier at the end of the game, what can we expect to happen to Vegas?
Assuming they side with either House or go independant.

this is bullshit
because of loading screens, you can't carry it to other zone

>get the holo rifle, the automatic rifle, a million medpacks, and some other goodies
>leave Father Elijah with his silly "treasure"

>reach with the leg to the door.
>take all gold
>slow walk out
congrats, you proved your retardation

>slow walk out
then what?
dumb faggot

Let go of what? There was never a reason to carry that crap, I'm already carrying a fuckload of caps in worth of items, the gold is too heavy for it's price.

The whole moral of dead money is lost because Obsidian gave the player way too much loot.

then drop gold. Find another guy.
Kill him.
Stuff him with gold
Chop his leg off.
Drag it to merchant.

Nigga you dumb

on jsawyer they're legitimately not worth picking up, their value:weight ratio is pathetic

It's destroyed by those tunnel creatures. Pretty sure in that DLC its stated there are thousands of them heading towards New Vegas.

>not merchant has enough money to buy it all
then what?

Gun Runners.

rotate between merchants and wait a few days? do you need someone to wipe your ass seeing you can't think for yourself?

>not just becoming rich in preworld money from the casino instead
It's weightless and way more fun to stuff in your house

>all the other characters in the DLC had some kind of issue they needed to let go of because it was ruling their life
>the Courier is there to see what all the fuss was about
>have to hamfist the message with a huge pile of gold because the player has no reason to adhere to the moral of the DLC because they're just there for the sake of it

are you stupid? merchants restock their caps every couple days.

I grabbed them all and got out of there by chaining GRX/Turbos.

THANKS CHRIS "FUCK REBUILDING EVERYTHING MUST BE NUKED AGAIN" AVELLONE

Yeah, that was the one part of Dead Money I fucking hated.

>you can never spend all the money because there's nothing that expensive
then what?

>tunnel creatures pop up, ready to kill
>see post-Lonesome Road courier and Bear and Bull Man chilling by the casino bar
>go back to their tunnel and back to the Divine

...

No, I didn't slog through that shitty DLC pack with the promise of gold and not take it.

kek

beautiful

>Selling unique items
>Not dumping them in your safehouse of choice as decoration

...

You can easily spend that money. Buy EVERYTHING.
ALL THE THINGS. PURCHASE THEM ALL. AND A BILLION ROUNDS OF 45-70 AND 50CAL.

...

Let go, Walter

>7 bars are found in the game, adding up to a value of 389,943 caps
>Even with a Barter skill of 100, Bardon carries well over a quarter million caps worth of inventory

Now you have enough ammunition to invade California

My fanon:
>Yesman rules over Vegas well
>Tunnelers are an occasional threat, Yesman has installed Music and bright lights all over freeside
>army of securitrons patroll the streets for tunnelers

>NUT 32%

>tfw got legitimately spooked hearing Elijah on the radio after escaping
That whole dlc had great atmosphere.

Yes, because at that point I had far more caps than I knew what to do with. Did take a few for display items though.

>fallout 5
>teased you'll see the courier in the game
>he's a melted mangled corpse found in a cave full of Cazaclaws that he made at Big M

I already had infinite money by that point so I took a bar for the novelty

>show up to the Sierra Madre because it seemed like an interesting place
>everyone tells me I'm obsessed with treasure
>game keeps telling me to let go of my obsession for the treasure
>still not sure why people keep telling me to let go when I don't care about the place
>buy a million stimpacks and upgrade my Holorifle and leave

>fucked all casinos
>and the sierra madre casino
I didn't NEED the gold

Is Dead Money the pleb filter of New Vegas?

>local courier banned from all casinos in vegas for wining too much

It's mostly a pleb filter because it's hard for people who mostly put points in guns and never cared about energy weapons/throwing/melee

>it's about letting go
>Have the golds weight in stim packs and super stims
>Equally stocked with whatever drug you need
>Excessive amounts of ammo and food if you're playing hardcore

I love dead money but the gold isn't all that important. Not anywhere near what you get.

>high luck
>bankrupt all casinos
>no need for the gold bars by the time i reach there

>have to hamfist the message with a huge pile of gold because the player has no reason to adhere to the moral of the DLC because they're just there for the sake of it
How is the pile of gold "hamfisted"?

The only thing hamfisted about the DLC is the "let go" message especifically mentioned and written all over the place. Other than that, it was perfectly fine. The gold bars were there because it is a vault. The whole story of the Sierra Madre revolves around GOLD, as that is what ultimately caused the clusterfuck of a location you see in-game: Dean Domino wanted the gold, and everything went to shit as a consequence.

No it's actually the Obsidrone filter, because only Obsidrones pretend it's in any way good

>stims
>super stims
>drugs
>explosives
>fucking good melee weapons, guns and an energy weapon

doesnt the gun runner dlc add insanely expensive guns and stuff like that

You know I just had a thought
what is up with bethesdas titles for their PC's implying that they they hate being with people
>fallout 1's player character is called 'vault dweller' which just tells you where they came from
>fallout 2's character is called 'chosen one' which tells you about how people think of them
>fallout 3's character is called 'lone wanderer' which implys that they never hang out with anyone
>NV's character is called 'the courier' which tells you what they do and what they did
>fallout 4's character is called 'sole survivor' which tells you that they survived something and also a loner who never hangs out with anyone

Dean Domino wanted to ruin Sinclair's life, the gold had nothing to do with any of it

>Hard
>For speccing instead of generalizing

I mean you're wrong, the dlc is easy as long as you know how to scavenge, doesn't really matter what spec you went as long as you can make the skill checks.

Energy/melee characters probably have an easier time of it though.

>Consoledude
>One of the mods for that weapon are bugged and only give a 1.5% boost to crit instead of 505.

>rob casino
>shoot the place up

>>fallout 2's character is called 'chosen one' which tells you about how people think of them
Everyone outside of the Chosen One's tribe thinks he's a fucking jackass for calling himself that.

It literally did: he was going to take it away from him in order to ruin his life. One of his endings even implies he is greedy as fuck:

>Shrugging it off, his mind turned instead to where the Courier had come from. Vegas still survived, out there in the Mojave. Its sights, sounds... and casinos, ripe for the taking.

That said, it doesn't matter: it could have been gold, a sled, a wooden toy horse, anything. The vault being filled with gold makes perfect sense, and also helps nail the point of the DLC without resorting to "LET GO" written in every fucking wall.

>super interesting choice at the end of the questline
>game is literally falling apart due to glitches, bugs and bad game design
>literally don't know what's supposed to happen or not
>say fuck it and just noclip out with max carry weight
>used wrong console command and permanently fuck my carry weight
>old as fuck viable save
>can't be arsed at all to go through the bug-infested DLC again

JUST FUCKING WORK

>all the people in the thread who cheated instead of using long haul

Yes. I played Dead Money with a lot of difficulty-enhancing mods and still the only thing that bothered me was the very last "puzzle" at the vault, with the three fucking holograms and the indestructible radios.

fucking brainlets

sorry I used two lits.

I'll go kill myself now

Every time I replay NV I almost drop the game at that point.

>taking a whole perk for one situation
inb4 some shit about needing it often
Scav smarter.

Of the three who say that
>God saw people give in to greed every time
>Dean is a greedy bastard who wanted to fleece everyone
>Elijah is fucking crazy

It's really fucking simple once you've do e it a few times
>use one terminal
>move
>use next terminal
>move
>use next terminal
>leave

I'm a hoarder. Fight me.

I like how you say "of the three" as if there's anyone else to talk to

I won't, because I hoard like crazy to decorate my chosen home and make tens of thousands more caps than I need.
I'm just saying, scav smarter, like do things in loops rather than traveling out to fast travel back and forth.

Christine

>mute for 90% the DLC

That's what makes a good woman

>changing the subject

Did you kill him?

But you can still talk to her.

Well I didn't take all the gold, just whatever I could carry. I only went down there with a fancy suit and a police pistol after dumping everything I had in the fountain inside. When I left I also grabbed all the stuff I dumped in the fountain outside so I left with about 1500~ pounds of stuff.
I never needed all the gold.

Honestly, who would even give a flying fuck about gold in the Fallout universe?

Gold is useful for electronics.

Nah, he's bro tier if you don't try and, in his perception, one-up him when you meet.
He's just tsundere.

>Have a decent luck stat
>Clean out the casino of old world cash
>take a few gold bars but mostly the old world cash out of the vault
>Have like 25,000 caps worth of weightless junk which you can sell anywhere

A lot easier to sell old world cash of various quantities than it is to find a vendor that has the caps or stock the purchase a gold bar imo

Nah. I'm usually pretty rich by that point by fixing and selling guns, and using the reloading perks to make my own ammo.

Usually take one or two for decoration, depends how much empty space I have in my inventory.

this, only brainlets take the gold

>hey we're going to explode together if you kill me, so don't try to think you're in a position of strength here
>Dean hated that

you needed that otherwise they would have had to write in some backstory for the courier, which is a bad idea. in one of the dialogue options youre asked why you followed the signal. whenever elijah refers to why you came he doesnt really give a reason and leaves it vague. the idea is you can either rp some reason you followed the signal or you can go with the gold

besides, at the end of the DLC i actually had that feeling that i didnt want to let go of it because the DLC was good enough that i didnt want it to be over

Yeah. Faggot tried to kill me in the tampico. Great character though.

He tried to kill me first.
He always fucking does.
Little faggot begs to get put down. Like bitch please.

I kept a single bar for this reason. Dropped it on a table up in the Lucky 38.

However, it was pretty annoying that you can't manipulate the bars for whatever reason. I guess they didn't want all the bars to fly off the table during the fight with Ulysses but that also means you can't move them around easily if you take one or two.

>nut
see

Of course not

I needed the gold, not the caps
I wanted the gold for its own sake

>recently know that there's a movie called 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre'
>It's about let it go.

how much does becoming an obese black man cost in NV?

About a mod or two

are you that desperate for human contact that you prefer being shunned to being completely ignored?

Yes I let go because it is a video game and not real also I can just give myself 9999999999999999999999999999 caps
