Played all soulsborne games in release order. Out of the three dark soul games I enjoyed DS3 the most and found DS2 the most challenging.

I've played them all (including Demon's and Bloodborne) when they came out, and DS3 ended up being my favorite.
I think it's the most consistently good out of them all, with the least amount of clearly unfinished content (it still has its share of shitty areas though). I also prefer the fast paced combat, and I think the mechanics are an improvement over BB. The bosses are really good too

DaS1 (Not counting all soulsborne titles).
It just nails the core aspects by encouraging exploration, having great levels, good music, decent enemy encounters and good bosses as well as good lore since it doesn't have to do the sequel stumble of including references. It's more polished than DaS2 and hasn't had its corners sanded off like DaS3 either.
Lost Izalith and crystal caves are a black mark but the other "muh second half" levels are generally on par with or better than several of the more mediocre levels in either of the other games.
