How do you become good at this?

How do you become good at this?

play more, use more kicks that don't use the air-dodge

Speed control, don't always flick kick the ball, practice aerial control, always have boost, don't be afraid to hop in the goal and defend, call shots, and for FUCK SAKE USE YOUR BRAKES

In order of importance

>Learn when to get away from the fucking ball and stop driving into your own team
>Predict whats going to happen and set up for it
>Double jumping forward makes you go faster
>Drift more
>Learn how to alternate between driving forwards and backwards in order to get places ASAP
>Using boost to fly instead of going fast
>Euphoria

Also to add on to this, Rocket League is one of my weirdest guilty pleasures if you would call it that. I don't like racing or soccer but this game is fucking amazing.

I wish I could get into the regular mode, I seem to only have fun playing hockey.

>playing rocket league in bed

feels good mane

Opposite for me, never enjoyed the other modes, don't know if I tried hockey though

mid air rocket boosting and staying on the ball at all times

Practice.
Practice practice practice.
If you arent practicing, you should be practicing.
Its the only way you'll get gud

Become a physicist.

>staying on the ball at all times
Mentally... Not actually following it.

I have to tell a Rocket League story from last night
>2v2
>Have to carry my stupid-ass teammate
>Losing 5-6 with 10 seconds left to go, but it's cool cause I'm about to score
>Teammate comes flying out of nowhere and swats the ball away from me
>Says "They played better than us. Let them win."
>Even the opponents call him out, one of em saying
"You're a fucking moron. Your teammate was about to score and put you in Overtime, but no, you have to disrupt his shot. Go fuck yourself."
Other guy says "You're cancer."
>Teammate says "Whatever, trying to be nice doesn't matter anymore apparently"
>Meet teammate again in 2v2 but as a opponent
>He starts yelling at his teammate when they're losing
What is with some people on this game?

>watch Squishy 1v1, the absolute madman stays on the ball the whole time even when he's out of boost
>still wins

There are levels to this game. Im a mid-tier player and id get absolutely btfo ball chasing like him

I've noticed that the people in that game can be completely cancerous, luckily I usually only play the game with my friends.

Puberty is one of the risk factors for developing Cowadoody syndrome.

Use the handbrake and remember to not push a directional while jumping only after hitting the jump button

Dropshot is the best 'alternate' mode. Hockey is terrible honestly.

Best thing to do is mute them, its hilarious making a mistake and then having the teammate throw a fit at me... which only makes me continue making mistakes.
Its like if you make me hate you more than i want to win, your chances are going to 0. The toxic cunts in rocket league have no clue on basic human behavior.

You probably never will, at most you'll be decent after 2 years or so

>Not telling him "We played better than you, let us win."
>Not calling him out every time he steals the ball from a teammate

first you gotta get past the shit-tier matchmaking
I love the game and have 300 hours in it but fuck me dead is it terrible

>be today, playing casual 3v3
>dumped in a game with a rookie and an AI against a party of 2 masters and an expert
guess who the fuck won that match

then
>put in an 0-6 match
>quit, queue again
>0-6
>quit
>0-7
rinse and repeat till you finally get something semi-decent
I wouldn't even mind waiting a minute or two for a match if I knew it was going to be a proper one, but no, gotta shit you out into a match as fast as possible because muh wait times

>tfw you start getting matched with champs in casual when you're only diamond in ranked

God does that make me feel like a total shitter. I miss getting randoms so i could be comfy stomping in casual. Some days i have to que for ranked just to get some easier games

>be today, playing casual

Wait, so what the hell did you expect it to do? Slot you in only with other people who've played the same amount of time as you regardless of rank, which isn't a factor in casual?

I guarantee you Psyonix is more worried about putting together lootboxes and making more rick & morty cosmetics to pinch pennies from the autist shitters than quality matchmaking

the whole point of matchmaking is to put you in games with people of a similar skill level, who gives a fuck about how many hours you have in-game. otherwise it just ends up being stomp one match, get stomped another, which isn't fun at all

it would be nice if we could start up a /vg/ and have it last. feels like the only way to get Sup Forums interested in building a community for this game is by adding qt asian girl drivers that yell out catch phrases while we're playing.

>coming spring 2018

Yea its been years and i dont understand how one of the most played and well liked games on the market doesnt have a general.
Fucking cancer waifufags will spam 20 threads on the catalog on titles ive never even heard of

if it takes waifus to make it popular, I'm all for it. even rainbow six siege managed to get a community going, and I don't believe they had waifus at the very beginning(or maybe they did?)

But rocket league has hats and tf2 got carried by the hat market.

there was only one waifu at first in rainbow but she still wore a gsg9 helmet and seemed somewhat tacticool so it was okay
the designers are shit and started making special snowflake girls wearing tights with bright color dyed hair which made it more waifu shit
